Personally I would’ve painted the ends of the bag and the straps black. I could never live with that staining! I custom dyed a Bedford last year….it was the same original color as yours. I dyed the bag a dark purple, and the straps black. Also dyed the zipper black. I sold it for exactly double what I paid! 🤩
I would recommend how to get the black off patent leather but i never do you tubes videos and someone will steal it knowing it didnt come from them. However i do plan on doing a video soon to show how to remove it. If someone can teach me how youtube works

What do you mean? It’s dyed not paint. So the bag was already a shiny patent leather finish. But if you dye leather there are clear sealants from angelus direct that are matte or gloss or satin finish. Nope that helps!
It doesn’t really change the feel if you do a light coat. If it gets caked on thickly then it can feel less like leather. Also if you seal it, then use a matte leather sealant instead of a satin or gloss one to maintain the feel of the leather.
I ended up doing two on this bag to get. A nice deep red since it was over a yellow base. But it really just depends what the starting color is and how pigmented of dye you’re using
@@dayannaespinoza4199 You can't do it if it's the same kind of patent leather. She is using dye to penetrate the gloss coating. She is tinting the coating. There is no such thing as a white leather dye. You would have to paint the bag white using leather paint. Leather paint sits on top of the leather and looks less natural than a leather that has been dyed. Hope that helps. You need to find out of your leather is painted. If you put a drop of water on the leather and it absorbs it, it's a naked leather that can be dyed. If the water just sits on top of it then it's been painted and you can change the color using only paint. Hope that helps.

I haven’t tried nail acetone. But the jug I use was pretty cheap at the hardware store

The trim? Yes! You can use any color leather paint on the vachetta trim

Does the dye transfer to clothing
Nope! Once it’s cured and you wipe any excess off the outside it won’t transfer.
