    To dye the zipper you can use angelus paint + angelus soft and that does not bleed.

      Thank you for the tip! I’ll have to try that next time!

    Have you had to do touch ups or dye the bag again? Just curious how long the color can last since this video was done in 2022. Thank you 😊

      No I have not. The dye is permanent, so you should not have to do touch ups ever.

    If the paint gets over the metal logo is it easy to remove? I'm contemplating to dye a pair of Prada patent leather flats that has the "Prada" logo gold metal on it. Thanks!

      If it’s just metal you should be able to wipe off using a baby wipe. You can also use a painters tape to cover that area. If it’s a logo with color on it. I recommend watching my Prada dye video because it did dye the logo.

    What was the product that you used on the zipper to make it glide easier?

    Does painting a different color ruin the value if at some point you wanted to sell?

      Yes, when a bag has been altered in any way by someone other than the company, it would be deemed not authentic. However, a bag like this was already stained and had very little value. By dying it, it makes it wearable again

    I want to restore its original color. What would you suggest color dye to use?My bag is like what you have.

      Hi! If there are markings on it that are dark, you will not be able to cover them with a light color dye. If you are just looking to brighten up the color, I would suggest mixing a yellow with a tiny bit of red, until you get this dark amber color

    I really want to do this to mine....I have a yellow alma that I want to make bubble gum pink...does the bag look really shiny after?

      Yes! Finishing it with the acrylic gloss really helps! Just be careful with pink, it could turn out a bit orangey

      @@preluxehi what about silver? Do you think it would show up or should I do a darker colour?
      And if I buy a stained bag, do you think all the stains would be covered?

    Do I have to use acetone?

    • @preluxe
      @preluxe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, acetone helps deglaze the vernis so that the new dye will be absorbed

    Why didn’t you use gloves?

    • @preluxe
      @preluxe  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally think that gloves are big on me and just get in my way.
