- I show an easy way to sew clear plastic onto a canvas enclosure panel to make a window. This can be applied to any boat canvas in which you want to see through - full enclosure, drop curtain, slope back, dodger, connector, bimini etc.
Availability of materials, supplies and tools vary drastically depending on location, so it is very difficult to provide links. A quick google search in your location can help you find similar and available parts and tools for your project.

Nicely made. Only one detail is missing. In between, you should stick a transparent adhesive tape around the side, so that water does not pass through, between the sewn materials😉
Thank you for your feedback! I do not add that tape, I have found that the stitching generally seals up in a short time and doesn't leak enough to be a problem. But, I'm sure that varies depending on location, environmental factors, and canvas maintenance, so adding it is a great suggestion :)
They use stainless steel wire to patch a small helicopter's window back together. Same but different.
Interesting!
Hello. A general sewing question. When do you ever need a zig-zag stich in upholstery?
The machine I bought has this feature, but I'm not sure if I will ever need it.
I have never had a zigzag option, so it hasn't been necessary for me. But I imagine there are uses for it in the upholstery and canvas world. If you're into the sail making end of things, it would likely be useful.
What kind of machine is that
It's a Chikon CK-8BL-1
