- The New Dragon Quest, Infinity Strash has got very rough reception from Reviewers, but are they accurate? Personally, I think it's a fun standard Action Game with some bad Design Choice - that gets surprisingly entertaining after a few hours in!

Its all SE fault for misadvertising this game as a story game. All the reviewers are basically jump into that way and only review the game based on the story mode.
Did they? What they show most in trailer is arena and boss fight.
Well it's more that they should have emphasized development on the Temple part most likely.

This game could have greatly benefitted from a coop option IMO. Would have got it day 1, but will wait for a rainy day sale.
Most games are reviewed around their story mode. I mean, EVERY Dragon Quest ever was reviewed that way. It's understandable. If you take a franchise based on Story mode, and make it a 10hr story with a side dungeon, of coure there will be backlash.
i think since it’s a Dragon Quest title but it’s not turn based or rather, traditional JRPG, most fans don’t like it, right? cuz i haven’t played the game but from what I’ve seen, people don’t give legit reasons why it’s a bad game! it’s an action rpg of course for the fans of the turn based genre it’s gonna look “repetitive “ just the way turn based games look boring to some actions fans.
the price though…yeah i’m not sure about it honestly 😅
Action or turn based isnt a problem to fans as long as the game is good...
DQ Heros 1&2 are great, DQ Builder 1&2 are also good

And triple A games should at least be 10$ higher like dd2

I know agree stop listening to these brought out reviewers and play and watch for yourself this game I'm having a blast here it's actually fun addicting is it perfect no but grab a cold one and enjoy it fun to me
I honestly just want the game because of the mobile game shutting down earlier this year. It's cause of A Hero's Bonds that I got into Dragon Quest in general.
SE tried to do what Granblue Fantasy Relink did but failed.

Instead of spending $60 U.S. on a 10 hr game with an inserted roguelite. I think I'll skip it and either buy 4 actual roguelike games ,or Tears of the Kingdom. I understand that you CAN like the temple or recollection. But it's not what the game was advertized at, and definitely not what Dragon Quest fans are generally looing for.
Instead of an open world to explore it has a stage selector. Like back in the NES days. The games was a 60 dollar POS I'll never finish. It's so bland and boring game play too. Square Square triangle circle Square Square Square Square Square triangle circle lol
This game might not be as bad as people say, but Fate Samurai that came out the same day is all around better. So really, I would recommend anyone who wants this game to wait till the price comes down on this unless you got money to waste. You can easily see the difference between a company that cares about their game and this one that just kinda seems like a money grab for low effort.
But that's the thing. Every Dragon Quest game before has been worth the money with tons of content and gameplay. Why did they just drop that one?
Fate/Samurai is not like other Fate/ games I've played. The musou element is more downplayed and it focuses more on story. Speaking as a story-based JRPG lover, I'm loving it so far. I'm playing this immediately after completing Ys IX on PS5, which is another amazing series.
@@e0jay Yep, I completely agree, I had no real interest in the previous Fate games. But this one is extremely well-made and doesn't just feel like a waifu collector! Ys and Falcom games in general are some of my favorite games ever! I recommend Tokyo Xanadu Ex+, it's on multiple systems and PC. It has a good story and characters! Kind of a mix of Persona and a Ys game. If you got the time and want a good game that goes on sale a lot give it a try.
they took the best adventure DQ had to offer and turned it into a simple map by map warriors type of game... this was predatory garbage. there is a good reason for all the hate. the feeling of betrayal this game left is unparalleled.
Doesn't worth it, as a fan of the DQ saga which pays attention to the "details" I don't like it, don't waste your money on this one, hell I even watched the anime in which this tittle is based on, and sorry but NO. It doesn't matter how much mental gymnastics or sugar-coating anyone puts on this game, it just feels half-baked and with a wrong approaching for any "Dragon Quest Fan that Pays Attention to the Details"

This is a bit of and odd review, you say its an ok game but the story is not good and to skip the CS. I looked around and yes many don't like this game because the telling of the story from the manga/anime was so bad ( so other viewers and you have the same mind set ). And this game is based on the manga and anime with the story and pacing so bad how can this be a good game. That's why other reviewer and fans of the series are mad the game did no justice, many fans wanted to experience that world but only got a generic hack-slash game with heavy grind at the end.
Players are stuck on 2010 thinking that 60$ is the price of AAA games and any other one should cost less
60$ is doesn't equal as much as it was before anymore and supposed to be the standard price for this type of games AAA ones should cost more
The "Temple of Recollection" was one of the biggest flaws with "Infinity Strash - Dragon Quest The Adventures of Dai" as you have to go through it dozens of times, and you're levels reset at one when you exit it.
If Square Enix fixed that issue, including retaining experience levels when you finish the "Temple of Recollection", that would make it a hit.
He does mention that that part is a ROGUE LIKE element not that I disagree entirely but he does make it clear what it is

Especially the "Temple of Recollection" where you have to go through it dozens or even hundreds of times, and you don't retain any experience levels gained at the temple, which makes it harder to go to deeper levels.
Sooo...they stole the idea from FF14's Heaven on High dungeon. Which isn't a bad thing. It's interesting for sure.
Not exactly. Dragon Quest always had a dungeon like this since the very early days - but a rogue-like dungeon is also not exactly a new system for JRPGs.
This is by far the worst game I have ever seen bearing the dragon quest name
I don't think it's a terrible game to be fair - criticism is a bit harsh for it.
