      Carefully scrape the paint with a widget. Did they know if it was oil or latex?

      You could try Citrol 266 diluted 10-1 or 7-1 on a microfiber towel and gently rub. Then wipe off any residue with some ONR.

    I like the Awesome Cleaner from Dollar Tree. Dilute it down to five to 1. It will take off grease, crayons, ink and carpet stains. They make a Citrus cleaner too. When all else fails. Used diluted Awesome Cleaner 5 to 1 for the door Jams and hinges area of my 2005 Taurus SE its 16 years old. I sprayed some lube on the hinges years ago. It collected dirt on them . Took the Awesome Cleaner and a lug nut brush. They cleaned right up. They look brand new. Even shined back up. Now after Covid 19 my Ford Taurus 2005 SE is worth more than I paid for it years ago. It has 175,000 miles on the 3.0 Vulcan. New tires and brakes. It will go 250,000 miles. I bet! Thanks for the interior cleaning tips. My Taurus has cloth interior and still looks great. Shawn.

    I’ve seen where some plastics you can restore the color and get rid of the white fading with heat but you have to have a heat gun with a small nozzle that concentrates a small area, you can use a larger nozzle for larger areas. And it can be easy to melt from what I’ve read and seen. Haven’t tried it myself yet.

    Hey Oscar I have a quick question about the super clean diluted 10:1. I’ve been using the same dilution that you say however I see that in your videos the color looks more purple. I feel like I am adding too much water. I was wondering how you measure out your dilution ratios to get them as accurate or what do you do? , Thanks!

    I wouldn't touch the headliner. Maybe try Citrol on the paint for the leather: spray, let sit, then use a toothbrush to breakup the paint. It really depends on the type of paint spilled (oil based, latex, water based, how long its been there). I probably would have done as much as you did. Correct call Oscar!!

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, another part of it is when you use an aggressive cleaner, there's a high chance it'll discolor the leather

    Maybe gently wet sand the paint stain with 1000 grit sandpaper? But like you said, there is a good chance you'd take off the color and texture of the leather. So probably better off leaving it be. The headliner looks like a lost cause too.

    This is really off topic and this isn’t being made to be rude but in the beginning of the video when you started your car and immediately drove away that isn’t good for you cars engine bc the oil needs at least 15 seconds to run through the engine. Bc what happens when you drive away quick is your car is running dry

    • @josem1596
      @josem1596 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I heard newer cars can drive almost instantly. Like put on seatbelt and drive.

    • @austinarnold2193
      @austinarnold2193 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jose Gap dk if you’re trying to be a smart ass or you’re just telling me what’s up but I’m a auto technician so Ik that’s still not the case because even in newer cars today they still use thicker oil so the oil takes more time to run through the engine. So if you just drive away immediately, you’re hurting the engine by running it dry.
