I watched the movie in Dolby Vision first. It was a very good transfer but there were some scenes that were a bit too bright for my taste (the villagers all had white clothing that, while there was no blooming, seemed to have a touch more contrast than I preferred). I then re-watched it in HDR10. Its image was just slightly darker and that was more pleasing to my eyes. Of course everyone has different tastes but I would advise folks to watch not just the Dolby Vision version but to also compare it to the HDR10 version and decide which one you like more.
I like your analysis, I agree the Dolby Vision was slightly brighter but I did enjoy that more but that’s personal taste. I’m going to post this comment to the top.

Do you mean between Dolby Vision and HDR10? The 4K player I have I can just switch between them.
I picked this up recently - haven't watched it yet -- have only seen the movie on TV so it'll be a big upgrade I think! Best thing is that music score!

My dad loves this movie and ended up buying it while we were on the road. I watched it and ended up loving it too. The remake did a decent job but this to me was still the better movie.
Yea the remake leaned into the fun factor a little more. Witch is cool but this one had a lot more heart and built up the characters better.
I liked the 2016 remake as well but boy the body count was unbelievable.
They just turned the action way up and forgot about the heart.

Yepe, It’s kind of a soulless forgettable remake. Just not the worst.
