I agree with you Paris Texas, one of my favorite melodrama / road movies of all time. This movie is that security blanket, where I can escape for a couple of hours and not think about the horrors of today's current climate. Gonna include Dolby Vision, should look breathtaking. Also I'm a sucker for that neon color packaging. Day one pick-up.
I’m with you on that! The neon packaging will get me every time. I’ll be upset about the extras but I love the movie i’ll probably grab the criterion 4K.
I use those basic wire storage shelves that allow me to have 2 rows of movies. I organize them like Sci-Fi on one row and comic on another row. Gangster one and heist on another row. It's easy to find a movie when you have it organized. I was told once by a boss "always set up something that if someone off the street can come in and find it.".
That’s actually similar to how I structure mine. I know where all the movies are on my shelves but if someone else was coming in I might have to explain it lol.
Hi there, I appreciate your promoting physical media. Please use your influence to ask for a 4K deluxe presentation of one of the most overlooked masterpieces, Sam Peckinpah's " the Wild Bunch". In my view, it's one of THE greatest westerns of all time, alongside the Magnificent 7, Tombstone, High Noon etc. It was the 1st film to extensively use squib packets that emulated exit wounds from high caliber weapons. Peckinpah utilized these, along with slo-motion, overlapping shots, and phenomenal cinematography with an All star cast, featuring William Hilden, Ernest Borgnine, Warren Oates, Robert Ryan, Edmond Obrien, Ben Johnson, Strother Martin. Just incredible! If you haven't seen it this,, it has one-of-a-kind, train robbery, and a finale that has the "wild" bunch facing off the entire Mexican army equalized with a 50 caliber machine gun, a case of grenades. OMG! What a shootout. This deserves a box edition, perhaps Arrow or 2nd Sight, with a hard box and compilation of essays and color photo galleries. THANKS FOR LISTENING!
I appreciate your enthusiasm for the Wild bunch. I really enjoy it he movie and would love a 4K blu ray of it. I feel like I heard that this was being worked on but i’m not positive. I’m hoping that it is being worked on because it is a classic beloved film. I’m almost positive though at some point it will come to 4K. Thanks so much for watching the video.
You convinced me to watch Babylon. I looked it up, and it has a good cast of actors. I do remember seeing a preivew for this and completely forgot about it. I bought the Blade Runner DVD years ago, then bought it on Blu Ray, but I still never watched it. I think it's about time I did lol
I would really love to hear what you think of both of the movies after you see them! I actually didn’t fall in love with Blade runner until the third time I saw it. The look of that movie alway got me but it took me a while to appreciate everything. I do think you’ll just love Babylon.
Totally agree. Dangerous Liassons is another. A drama whose " manners" obscure tge violence hidden beneath. Back to Alice. Ellen Burstyn is easily on par with Meryl Streep. She so masterfully elevates everything she's in.
Ooooo I agree with you but the collector would want them all upgraded and I would love to one day do a full watch through on 4K. I’m waiting patiently for Bond lol
I think PHANTOM MENACE is going to be loved as time goes on. It was a hit but critics gave it bad reviews across the board and fans hated it. BABYLON I liked but don't think it will find it's audience. We live in a time now where Hollywood stars are not looked up like they were years ago. Jack Black is my current example they open their mouth and they turn people off.
that’s why I think Babylon will find an audience because it’s a love letter to old Hollywood. I understand why it wasn’t so loved but we don’t why epics like that often.
That Risky Business 4K Blu-ray disc has a so so transfer. I wasn't impressed. Yes I have an LG OLED and a Panasonic UB820. The addiction is real with buying movies. I am learning to limit myself in buy as i go along in life. No loss if I miss a 4K Steelbook release like Godzilla minus one. I got 2 coming to me like the Japanese edition and 4K Steelbook edition. All I need is one of them and not 2.
Exactly! we all get that feeling that we’re missing out on something but we can’t put ourselves in crazy debt for this. Although I am very guilty of doing that very thing lol. Yeah I expected a little more with Risky business but I was happy overall.
I know GREMLINS 2 wasn't a hit back when it came out and I think it might have to do is that all those people who went to see the 1st one and made it a blockbuster hit didn't like it and didn't want to go see #2. I didn't like the 1st one but like the 2nd one a lot.
That’s interesting that you like 2 more than one. I don’t think i’ve heard that before. I think that what makes 2 so good is everything you know about one and are expecting, The movie decides do pretty much satire that one and the 80s as a whole. I can’t say I love it more than one but I also love a good christmas movie.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia #2 is without a doubt funnier. What does it like that scene where the Gremlins bust in the projector room and you think the movie projector is having problems. I also like #2 of ADDAMS FAMILY and WAYNES WORLD.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia In the movie theater as I was watching it people and myself thought it was a projector malfunction for a while. Very good scene. @ricogomez4020 Nope they didn’t and I liked those sequels too. They don’t go the safe route and just repeat the original which is great for a lot of people us included but most people just want to see more of the same.
That’s the only good thing is that Al got his Oscar. But he got Screwed too. Give it to the person with the best performance. Denzel was best in 92. Al was best in 72 and in 74 im saying Jack was best in Chinatown lol
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia For one I would not have given Denzel the Oscar for GLORY. Morgan Freeman was better in that and so was that other character who was a wuss. $15Gs on movies is an addiction like women who buy shoes and never wear them all. Now in the case of Matt if he is in worse shape because he buys "trash" movies. He's blowing money on movies that just belong on dvd period.
It’s very similar to that but it’s also something you love. I know i’ve bought plenty of movies when I didn’t have the money for them. It’s that rush like any addiction. And us who appreciate film that’s always where are money goes. I only collect movies though. Matt collects movies, Video games, Toys and posters. I just can’t afford that and either can he but he’s committed lol

Thank you for your honesty and transparency!!!!!! And yes the sickness is real referring to buying movies!!!!!!!!!!
No problem I won’t lie to you guys! It’s a real thing. It’s that rush of getting something new. The only thing is we do get to keep it forever.

Paper Moon and Godzilla are Day 1. I still may grab Scarface. I wasn't too crazy about it either when I first saw it.
I might end up grabbing Scarface in a 50% off sale. I’m hoping my feelings about that one change lol.
Just bought Criterion's Godzilla with the pop-out art... on blu-ray... 😏
That’s still a beautiful set but that’s always my fear with buying blu rays now lol. I’ve gotten burned a few times.
Tell me Devil in a Blue Dress criterion cover doesn’t look like Michael B Jordan 😂😂
lolllll it kind of does.
We still need Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. Never had a blu which is criminal. It blows away everything he did after Casino.

Back to Alice. Ellen Burstyn is easily on par with Meryl Streep. She so masterfully elevates everything she's in.
@yamasas It’s strange that Ellen Burstyn doesn’t get talked about in the upper tier of actresses. Shes always been great.
I don't think they will upgrade all those Godzilla Criterion movies. Most of those are brutal movies.
