NY added some great players, but they're all SMALL. Their forward lineup is now the smallest in the league and I feel like they're gonna look somewhat similar to how Ottawa did last year.
I can't help but think that Klee grabbed the players he liked to fit his system. They are not flashy. They are dig out the pucks, rush the net, hard-nosed players. He toughened up his team. It's almost like he made Minnesota another Boston and Boston became more speedier like Minnesota.
Could very well be. We’ll see how it plays out. I still like team but they didn’t add the overall talent that other teams did. Going to be fascinating to watch.
I think there were some rumors that Klee had thrown out all of Darwitz's draft day plans and started from scratch. Which certainly sounds plausible given how he drafted. Even the picks that I understood, I couldn't wrap my head around the round he grabbed them in. I think you summed it up perfectly: "underwhelming." I felt like Klee was a fine coach, but someone needs to get him out of the GM seat ASAP.
Maybe I should have given them a C, they weren't way behind but the flatness of their picks somehow just landed with a thud. Thompson's excitement was great to see and seemed different than the way the rest of the day felt for the team. But a summer off can do a lot, I suppose.
@@gamedayhockey I think a D is fair, because it takes into account who they were passing up. Without context I'd say their picks seem like a C rating. But they had the third spot in the draft! and yet they were consistently passing up top tier picks. And then they let Boreen get away! That in itself is worth losing a grade point. ;__;
@@gamedayhockey Karrel Emard from RDS had Boston first also, a lot of people thought Boston's chemistry would be far better than it was during the season, plus you could say that both Muller and Knight had season's that did not match most experts' expectations. But yeah, difficult league to predict.
@@gamedayhockey all of them, but in a mindset that their core is intact and that new additions play the same style than last season which might be optimistc and a gross underevaluation of the impact of turnover for other teams.
@@guillaumelevasseur277 That's the part that I noticed: they lose Boreen (and Kunin) and do pick up 2-3 valuable additions, but other teams made more impactful additions like Fillier/Nylen Persson/Tulus, Serdachny/Savolainen/, Barnes/Gardiner and Bilka/Pejsova and even Gosling/Carter/Daniel are good when you're picking 6th in each round.
Fantasitic analysis & great video. Been waiting for this to come out and was worth it. But really dying to see part 2 with the Canadian teams.

They did lose their bigger player, Emma Woods, to free agency. Rosenthal has decent size.

@@Daemonkryn It's definitely a lower tier than the other five teams, who all got a B or better.
At the end of next season you will regret giving Minnesota a D
Which draft picks do you like, other than Thompson?
Remember I picked Boston to win it all last year 🎉
