Yes, everyone was saying TA-PAWN-EE which is wrong... and Se-LAWN-ee is wrong for Teemu Selanne as well, so I was trying to help nip it in the bud. I even asked a finnish friend and it's more on the first syllable, SELL-a-nee and TAPP-A-nee

I sure hope so. Without a PWHL Philly, New York is as close as I can get to rooting for a team that represents my hometown. And I love that teal.

Is there even one single other channel that is anywhere near as good a resource for regular PWHL updates all year as this one? 'Cause I sure haven't found it.

Good to know there are others out there. There's also P-Dub Central which would do game highlights, but they pretty much completely stopped, after the season ended.

@@gamedayhockey I'd be overjoyed with January. The language being used at the time suggested she might well still be on crutches in January, implying she'd miss the entire season outright; the fact she's not only able to walk but skate unassisted is hugely encouraging.

I like the name, but … most people are still not loving that logo 😖 They might be able to tweak it in a year or two…

It will be a while before that happens. But the key is that there has to be an existing girl’s and women’s hockey programs already in place. The PWHL’s raison d’être is to advance women’s hockey. So farm teams need to be established. It is not the NHL, where someone with deep pockets decides to buy a team. To be fair, interest has been greater in the Great White North. Quebec City would be a good choice. Chicago or Detroit stateside. I cannot see a western expansion for some time, because women just don’t have the luxury of free time to travel as much.

I'm ecstatic about them making Coca-Cola Colosseum their new home. I have to take the GO Train into Toronto, and with the Lakeshore West's stop at the Exhibition, the train practically pulls up to the front door.

@@stuartmehlberg808 I think Detroit would be a good guess, and I’m wondering about somewhere like Halifax or another Maritime city that would really support a team. Possibly Chicago or Buffalo for neutral-site games as well? Thanks for the comment!

@@leecox6241 I think expansion is about two-three years away. What do you mean “ don’t have time to travel?” I think western expansion is unlikely due to costs just yet, unfortunately Winnipeg is not large enough and I don’t see them stretching out to include Alberta yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if all the Canadian teams sell out there seasons tickets.

@@leecox6241 oh boy, don’t do that 😂 the angle is different but yes, I am small and Ronja is about 5’ 10” - I’m sure you’ve seen her in photos next to Noora. I am about 5’ 6”, Noora is 5’ 4” but muscular!

Of course it was an unfair comparison to both of you! Sorry about that! 😢 Just goes to show how the camera lies! Ronja just looks soooo statuesque in a “ I wouldn’t want to meet her in the corners“ kind of way! 😮 ( I should talk - I am a whopping 63” 😂)

It really is. I give all props and love to anyone who has the courage to make a big move like this. She's a great player and I know she will be a fan favorite. We don't know the schedule, but looks like late November is the start.

@@Daemonkryn True, but you can pretty much look at U.S. Thanksgiving, training camps open Nov. 12, so you’d guess a week to ten days for camp/exhibition games

@@Daemonkryn Well, training camp ends at the end of November. So first the week of December on is likely. Now I have seen a schedule for three games a day starting the first Monday of December. Trouble is they are likely exhibition games and I am uncertain if they are open to the public. Someone else on here may know.

No doubt she will, like Sarah Fillier it's a question of term, 2 years vs 3 years. At the end of 2025-2026 season, lots of original contracts expire which will mean lots if money available for free agency and re-negociations
