    O, Leanne, thank you for another very lovely visit. Thanks to you, I also feel this is a group of friends. 🥳 I really like how you give shout-outs to designers, dyers, and shops, and especially how you educate viewers about indigenous peoples and their relationship with the land, which is different than I thought. I learn so much from you. I am truly moved by your sharing about some amazingly supportive efforts helping others. Bravo! I too am knitting leg warmers, 80s style in purple of course, as a gift to my trainer, right?👌 😁 She'll do me proud!! And Yaaay for all those rich amber golds 😎 😍😘

    Thank you, Leanne, for your podcast. I love the piece you were wearing at the beginning of the podcast. It looks so warm and a great addition to a jacket in the fall. I am knitting "Autumn Comes" by Lisa Hannes. It is such a beautiful scarf and totally reversible. I am using a lace weight yarn and mohair held together. So delicate looking! It is a gift for my sister. I hope she loves it as much as I do knitting it! Thanks again for sharing various cities in Canada with us. "May your knitting be filled with joy and confidence". Hi Leanne, I love that Dickey and the color! I too, have been slightly obsessed with yellow. I just finished a bright yellow hat - pattern mouton noir - out of Julie Asselin’s boucle. It’s that nice pop of color.
      I’ve also started a baby blanket - Walt Chevron - for a baby due this month😅.
      My Ranunculus sleeve is in WIPs, and so is my eccentricity shawl. They are both too hard 😭

    Clue 1 is too beautiful to frog. And I’m guessing if you haven’t frogged it by now, you really don’t want to. Check out episode 35 of Annijuuti’s channel in which she brilliantly turned the shawl into a cowl by completing clue 2 and connecting the ends. Clue 2 is a fun, easy knit of alternating garter and twisted stitch short rows, and you’ll get a chance to use some of that pop color for not a lot more knitting. Let us know what you think. nycSox

    • @theknittystew
      @theknittystew  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Carla! Yes I did hear that about the cowl from Annijuuti. Great idea. I think I’m going to need that main colour though for my Zweig. There are no more skeins of Mayflower!

    Lovely as always Leanne and I love that you put maps in. I have no idea where anything is so it helps! Wow Regina was interesting, thanks for taking the time to film and curate all this. Africa! Thanks for sharing all that too. (great gift ideas) and 60 hats, that was so lovely. Life can be full of such contrast and I learned when I was a young teenager (we travelled) how fortunate I was and that it should never be taken for granted and I raised my children with this exposure as much as I could too. They are kind, generous souls that make my heart sing. MKAL - ha ha what a ride, my first and I finished and know if I saw it I would not have chosen to knit it, but I love it, because it was so fun and not knowing what was going on was hilarious and worst case, rip it. Yarn is so magical like that, not like sewing! Gave my family endless hours of confusion as I'm quite the control freak, I prefer to call myself "in charge" but whatever! Happy knitting and thanks once again for the joy, Karen x

    So lovely catching up with you Leanne 😊 Your Travellers Cardigan turned out so beautifully and what luck having similar colours of unspun to save the day! Looking forward to seeing your Zweig knit up with the Burning Birch colourway 😍 Thank-you for sharing about Heart for Africa and your personal experiences travelling to Swaziland. Thanks for this lovely trip to Regina. You are a great host.
    Why don’t you create your own shawl from that west shawl? Even if you simply add 2 long garderstitch wings, it will look great. That center part is so beautiful and was so much work!
    Take care. Love from Switzerland….

    Hello from Vancouver BC Leanne!
    I look forward so much to your podcasts , you're amazing just for being able to get up before 3am to go to work hahahaha. I always complain if a flight leaves in the morning and do anything to travel late in the day!
    Love your knitting, the Dickkie is so cute and the yellow is so you. I made the Zweig a while ago when I didn't know how to do short rows and messed it all up so, I'll have to undo the whole thing and now with more experience do it again because it's a beautiful sweater.
    Thanks for showing us Regina, very lovely except for the weather, you us BC people don't mind the rain but snow it's a whole new ball game. Big hug, safe flights. See you soon. Lupita 🇨🇦

    Loving all the knits, especially the yellows, my fave lately. Wow, I really enjoy learning about all the things you share in your content, so inspiring. Great clips of the quilts your Sister made, such a talented crafty family, must be so fun to get together. I have been working on Safe at Home blanket by Margaret Holzmann, this will be maybe a full winter project, just taking my time. I just purchased Tucson by Ashleigh Wempe, plan on knitting that sometime soon. It was just released as a single pattern on Ravelry, it is also in the book: Handmade: Slow Fashion Inspired by Arizona's Five Cs where there are some other lovely patterns as well. Thank you Leanne for another beautiful podcast. Take care and safe travels. 🤗

    I really like your channel so much. I’ve watched it all when I had COVID.
    You know what really makes me curious. Could you do a tour of your wardrobe? I would be so interested to see all the garments that you’ve knitted. How much do you think you have in total (that you kept). And do you make sure you wear it all? How do you ‘manage’ practically speaking having so many knitted wearables?

    • @theknittystew
      @theknittystew  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Eleonora thank you for watching all my videos I so appreciate that. Hope your Covid is loooong gone. Regarding your questions: I’ve kept track of my projects on Ravelry from the beginning of my knitting obsession and I’ve made approximately 400+ projects. These projects have run the gamut from bookmarks to Cowichan sweaters. I have gifted all my knits with the exception of about 25 items which are in my own collection/wardrobe. I keep them folded on a shelf in my closet so that they are “visible” and at the ready while I getting dressed. I like accessories the most as they are a quick pop of knitting to add to a normal outfit. Now that my children are adults I have more time to start knitting sweaters and cardigans and I can see this becoming a focus. And knitting more for me … maybe!

    I just discovered your channel in the last couple of weeks and you've been keeping me entertained as I pack up my home and family to move to pastures new. When you mentioned Malabrigo there, I had to comment. I had just bought a skein of Rios in the beautiful shade "Azul Profundo" because I am knitting a Dave hat for my "Dave" for Christmas. It's my first time using this yarn and I am excited to move into our new home and finally get a chance to pick up my needles again. The Dave will be my first project in my new home. The yarn was the last yarn delivery to our old home 😊

      Mary your post made my day for so many reasons! I listened to sooOo many podcasts when we were packing and moving in 2021 and it saved my sanity! Love that I’m keeping you company during this transition. Can’t wait to hear how your Dave turns out. Malabrigo is my ‘comfort yarn’ and hats are my ‘comfort project’. Thanks for being here all the best with the new pastures!

      @theknittystew thank you so much! I have gotten so much inspiration from your videos. You have seriously contributed to my Ravelry favourites! I also love learning about your beautiful country. I also love how you pay homage with such reverence to the Indigenous people. One of my husband's big interests is learning about the native people of the America's, something he has ignited in me, too. Again, thank you for being such a calming and comforting companion to me throughout this huge transition. Moving house is physically hard, but I'm finding it quite emotional, too, as happy memories are stirred up in the process. Having podcasts to keep me entertained has been such a help 😊

    Thank you so much for your lovely podcast. I love the projects and the inspiration that you provide. I'm knitting socks for Christmas and hope to do a cowl or two. I knit the Zweig shortly after it was released and I used a commercial black yarn for the body and a very special hand dyed yarn I bought in Paris. I get compliments whenever I wear that sweater. It's a memory from our trip to France and I always reflect on the shop where I found the yarn and the long walk to find it.

    Lovely episode once again. I would have enjoyed your walk through the park and the visit to the yarn shop in Regina. All the shops in my area are tiny and crammed with goodies, but no place to sit for a friendly chat with fellow knitters. The piece you have finished for the West KAL is too beautiful to frog. I would definitely use a pop color or two by picking up stitches along the sides and knitting some crescent wings to finish out a shawl. The lime green skein you have would be a zinger, in my opinion.. I am ready for sleeve separation on the Zweig sweater, done all in beige, but it is "resting" while I'm working on other projects. Too many WIPS, as usual. Looking forward to next episode.
