    I love your info-bites about the places you're visiting. You had me needles down, grinning, listening to your coffee shop experience. If only we engaged with the stranger(s) we find ourselves next to, the world might be a kinder, friendlier place. Lucky you, to be "Part Sheep"!! I hope this revelation changes your perspective about your hair. Wishing you a holiday season full of happy, unexpected surprises.

      Linda, thank you! I totally agree that we need to try and connect with those around us just a bit more if possible. Compliment someone on their cool piece of jewelry or saying ‘bless you’ when someone sneezes. Great conversations can come out of no where!

    • @thizizliz
      @thizizliz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@theknittystew We do that. My Aunt taught me that a quick "drive by" compliment is not scary but that it should be something they chose; a blouse, scarf, earrings, hair color etc. It's wonderful to see someone who maybe hasn't received an honest compliment I a long time, light up with joy.

      @@theknittystew I know I'm coming late to this conversation. I watch your podcasts long after you've made them. Trying to catch up. In one of my readings somewhere, I learned to give something to everyone you meet. And that doesn't mean something material. It can be an object, but most often it's a smile, a nod, a compliment. Sometimes it's hard but is especially rewarding if you notice someone is particularly grumpy and you can change their attitude with a kind word.

    So pleased to view another episode in your travels, and to get another dose of your seemingly endless enthusiasm for all things knitting. While I love seeing and hearing about your projects, the way you acknowledge your native peoples, as well as other kindnesses you display with people you meet, touches me in a way I don't find in other knit-casts. I always look forward to seeing your new episodes.

    Hi. I just wanted to say a quick thank you, I really love the way you show such respect for the indigenous peoples whose lands you are visiting. It has been great for me to see the maps of where exactly you are so that I can have something to relate to. So nice to spend this time with you Leanne, and always a pleasure to see your knits and where you are visiting in your travels. Wow, the view at the end with the sunset and mountains was fabulous. Such a bonus to see these spectacular vistas we don't get to see from the ground. If you're not back before the new year, Happy Holidays and New year, and will be looking forward to the next one. Take care, safe travels. 🤗

    I enjoyed spending part of my evening with you. I lived in Abbotsford for a few years before moving one city further east about 30 years ago. I found it interesting to see such familiar sites (and sights) through your eyes and I even learned a few things! I also saw some familiar faces at the beginning of your Edmonton Frolic footage, Kim and Evan (with the green hair) from Black Cat Custom Yarns, one of our three local yarn shops. I look forward to seeing what you make with your purchases in the new year. Thank you for producing such a wonderful podcast, which enables me to be a tourist in my own country without leaving home (one day I hope to visit all of these places in person). BTW, if you are looking for something new to watch, I also have a knitting/crafting podcast. Safe travels home and Happy Holidays to you.

    Your WIP Zweig is simply STUNNING!!!! The orange tweed contrasting against the charcoal gray explodes visually! I loved your latest you tube... keep those inspirational topics/and travel highlights coming. Hope you can fly down to Stitches West/Sacramento CA March 2-4. A lot of avid knitters in this locale that love to yarn shop. I visited a brand new knit shop in my town Martinez called Busywork this weekend. Met the owner who is very sweet and helpful. I bought a few things and People, hope you knitter/stitcher folks in my neck of the woods will patronize the new shop and help it be successful. Knitting helps destress from the worries of the world!!!!! Till your next broadcast Leanne

So I am very happy they still have a online business, take care Melissa.

    I love all your makes. I have the same fear and colour shyness with my husband. But I get to play with colour for my many grandies. I've been working on customer lap blanket and sox as well as a pair of sox just off the needles for myself, 3 hats because they are needed and quick. I want to start more but have to finish the customer stuff first.
    It wasnice to see Abbotsford. We used to live in the Arrow Lakes area in the centre of B.C.

    Thank you Leanne (aka Stewey :) I was so happy you had time to share all of the things and the info about Abby....there are so many things to learn from your posts. I love Malabrigo and you asked what we are knitting so I will tell you, when I visited New Brunswick in October, I bought the book by Christine LeGrow & Shirley A. Scott "Saltwater Gifts." I used 2 strands of Malabrigo Rios to knit the Seafaring Slippers. I have one more pair to knit before the 18th. These are very warm slippers and I like to think of them as "sitting socks." I am inspired by your Zweig which looks as beautiful as the sunset in the Canadian Rockies at the end of this episode. I wish you all the best in the busy days ahead....much calm (not too much bright to keep that migraine away). Merry Christmas and many blessings in 2023.

    I'm about 2 years behind but catching up quick. Love your vlog and can really relate - even down to the optical/visual or atypical migraines. I'm in Ontario, half way between Toronto and Hamilton. I've been knitting for oh my - 74 years now (Mum taught me when i was 4). I have many WIPs on the go - easy ones for waiting rooms etc, ones that are in isdolation right now while I try and figure out how to fix something with them or I've just got bored with them and some complicated ones. At the moment I'm swatching for an aran pullover for myself Sykes by Martin Storey. I know it will take me awhile as it will be a challenge for my arthritic hands. I'm enjoying your travel bits and seeing parts of our country that I haven't been to as our traveling has been curtailed by health concerns.
