I had gone to a small cinema here to see this movie when it came out and after the lady who was staffing the projector came in to ask me the rhetorical question if I was the only one there, she *did* actually put on the movie just for me, even though the price of my ticket probably hardly covered even the cost of running the movie. That was awfully kind of her to do for 11 years old me! It was kind of cool to have a cinema auditorium all to myself. =P

Though from what I've read the material was constantly tearing under the slightest strain and so multiple suits had to be made, hense why the rangers spend most of the film out of costume. Still I love how it looks more like armor and was glad we finally got figures of those suits.
Ivan ooze is one of the best movie villains ever. He monologues while getting his revenge and actually succeeded in offing his target in the end. That’s some hi level villainy

There are 2 different versions of the 90s. 1. A dark "everything sucks" period with Grunge music rampant 2. A time where it was cool to wear sideways hats, make silly puns, and watch movies such as this on VHS
I like most of those things though I felt that the 6th sense was good for a one time watch. Wasn't off topic js their was more to the 90s then the limited amount of things you seem to remember. We had Arcades, a great selection of cartoons including Batman the animated series and the Disney afternoon, Nickelodeon shows, Comic books that for better or worse were darker, Power Rangers and several shows that tried to copy it. Sure a lot of it was the " Everything sucks " or " Everything is Extreme!!! and the cheesy good guys mostly always win" but that was part of the fun. Unlike today you could have great looking female characters that had personality and very little clothes but you could see more often then not that they were people with back story and goals vs the Rey's and Batwoman of today.
Ironically, in the original Japanese, it turns out it's an toad. Japan has an habit of making one of the silliest animals into one of the most badass animal.

There are 2 points of this review I need to address: 1. Ivan Ooze was actually freed to destroy Zordon rather than the Power Rangers. 2. The review forgot Zordon's death and resurrection in the movie, along with Zedd and Rita being freed to punish Goldar and the pig monster.
I remember seeing this movie in theaters as a kid... ah memories... Say what you will about the story and special effects, at least the rendition of the theme song kicked ass.

I remember being so psyched for this film, enjoying the theatrical release, and adoring the soundtrack. I think Angel Grove is about a 30 minute drive from Sunnydale and one of these days the Rangers will need help defeating a giant, kaiju lizard, vampire! You need to check out 'Cowboys and Dinosaurs'.
The reason you see them lose their power after the fight is because when we saw Ivan destroying the command center is the same time they were fighting so in turn we saw the after math. When you saw zordons tube being destroyed the the same time the power rangers finished the fight with the ooze monsters.
I honestly never thought the movie fit canonically into the TV show, but then I was like 9 or 10 when the movie came out so I just really enjoyed it for what it was, still do as now that I'm 36 it's just fun to laugh at.
If the pink ranger had inexplicably run around naked throughout the entire run time, this thing would have box office numbers on the level of JAWS. And that's the version I want. just saying...

But one story that Johnny did tell me was in one of the cut scenes from the movie where dulcia is training the Rangers on the plateau, she had a sparring match with the character Adam. While they were sparring her top just completely ripped off and rest followed, Johnny Bosch got a good eyeful but helped her cover up a walked offset together for a new costume change
Another one was I'm not sure if it was from the first movie or the second but there's a story that he told me where Jason David Frank had pissed himself before doing a scene of jumping into a body of water, apparently the director was not letting anyone leave offset and doing the shoot over and over and over and over again to the point where yeah Jason had to go to the bathroom and they wouldn't let him so he just went then they did action and that was the same that they chose to put in the movie

Ecto-Morphicons? I knew it! The ooze is in fact the ectoplasmic slime from Ghostbusters 2 which explains how they get brought to life.

I honestly never thought the movie fit canonically into the TV show, but then I was like 9 or 10 when the movie came out so I just really enjoyed it for what it was, still do as now that I'm 36 it's just fun to laugh at.
If the pink ranger had inexplicably run around naked throughout the entire run time, this thing would have box office numbers on the level of JAWS. And that's the version I want. just saying...
I remember being a kid and watching this movie and asking the same questions, it wasn't until later as an adult seeing the original script and ideas and also the cutscenes that I asked why wasn't this the movie
I'm good friends with Johnny Bosch and we have spoken about this movie even he has a few stories to tell some are good and some are cringy. But we all have a good laugh about it and at it

But one story that Johnny did tell me was in one of the cut scenes from the movie where dulcia is training the Rangers on the plateau, she had a sparring match with the character Adam. While they were sparring her top just completely ripped off and rest followed, Johnny Bosch got a good eyeful but helped her cover up a walked offset together for a new costume change
Another one was I'm not sure if it was from the first movie or the second but there's a story that he told me where Jason David Frank had pissed himself before doing a scene of jumping into a body of water, apparently the director was not letting anyone leave offset and doing the shoot over and over and over and over again to the point where yeah Jason had to go to the bathroom and they wouldn't let him so he just went then they did action and that was the same that they chose to put in the movie
Still upset that the one time Paul Freeman was at a convention I was going to, he got sick and had to skip the day I was there :(
I love the perfect timing of the cat looking away when it's accused of being evil.
When I was in the military the Power Rangers did a live show in Austin Texas. I took my kids to go see it. Pure torture.

I Remember This Movie !!! holy crap its been a minute ... ... Thanks for making me feel old :P ... LOL I remember being in 4th and 5th grade pretending to be Power Rangers at recess, would make up power rangers, White, Gold and green BEFORE they were even power rangers lol ... Pink Ranger is Best Ranger *Smug Face* ... I did always enjoy the Moral Metaphor/Analogy's the tv show, and movie did. Its like Captain Planet, or GI Joe with that PSA towards the end of the shows.

I still like the movie due to its nostalgia (I grew up on power rangers) it’s not great but it’s good to pop in when your board and needed a good laugh plus it has a good soundtrack
I saw this movie in theatre back then, and still have s1 and s3 megazords in almost perfect conditions.
I think I still have the COMIC ADAPTATION somewhere around the house.

@@themastera.z5418 As stuffed and bloated Megaforce was, I would MUCH rather watch Gosei hemorrhage upgrade cards, than hear every character's soliloquy on how one dimensional their views of ranger duty is. Ninja steel's biggest problem was that it had NO ACTUAL MENTOR. (i mean not just in name, but actually mentoring your students). Bulk was the only teacher actually putting in effort to Spike.

This movie is actually keeping up with Tokusatsu movies from Super Sentai. Their movies ( with the exception of Gokaiger) has nothing to do with the the main plot of the show either.
I remember renting this movie so much, that they ended up giving me the movie. I was obsessed with Power Rangers and this movie in particular. The nostalgia vibes are crazy right now.

God, how embarassing, I went to the theater to watch this in 1995 cause I followed the Power Rangers HUGELY in 1993 to 1996.
I really am interested in understanding why / where this dislike of Creepy has come from latly.
Have been watching Decker's content since 2015, and his crossovers with Creepy were always (and still are) a highlight to watch.
