    I wrote operation manuals and users guides for these Premier Inn Hubs a few years back. Nice to see the places in operation!

    The good thing is once you’ve stayed in one you know what you will be getting. I stayed in one. Would happily stay again.

    The room looks well done and clean. I will admit I felt claustrophobic, just looking at your video of it. I now have a compulsion to open a window, and stick my head outside.

    I had looked at a PI Hub in Westminster a few years ago. But as I was staying a week I kind of discounted it as I thought it might be too small (as I would also spend evenings in) so I booked a regular sized room at a normal PI.

    I'd never heard of these before now. Looks ok. Best thing is the table top next to the sink, that's sometimes quite an issue in small hotel bathrooms, where to put your stuff.

    Well for a short stay what more do you need?
    I always take an extension cable with multiple outlets often it's a job to plug anything in but your well catered for here.
    I would prefer more traditional controls than touch screen as you wouldn't need to see the screen. Liked the under bed storage👍👍
    A really great review and good advert for them. Well done, have a great weekend.

    Now that was interesting because I have seen those before, but I'm a bit wary of size, so go for larger places. But fair to say, now that I've seen it on screen with a walkabout, I may consider it in the future.
    Just a little additional question.... Where in Scotland was that... As I would love to giggle at the people walking backwards 😂

    • @Bungle2010

      @@boozytortoise I guess because it's February. I stayed in the Rose Street one in May 2019, 4 nights, for ~£120. Stayed there last year, in September, and I paid £421.50! I was actually supposed to stay May then too, but I moved it because of the rail disruption, the difference in price was minimal though.

    • @boozytortoise
      @boozytortoise 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Bungle2010 post covid Hotel prices have gone crazy. I payed neatly 100 for 1 night in an easy hotel and they never used to be above 50. You can still get a bargain occasional but generally its crazy

    • @paulsengupta971
      @paulsengupta971 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's the budget hotel/airline model. There's a continually increasing fare as the rooms/seats are sold, so the first ones to sell are cheap, then it goes up from there until the last ones sold are really quite expensive. Obviously in the off season you're more likely to get a cheaper room!

  • @rogerwilkinson2192

    That's quite impressive, Ideal for short stays but I wouldn't want to stay in one of those for 10 weeks when I'm working on a contract around the Christmas period each year!
    I quite like the compact utilitarian features but it's the high tech touch screen controls that sold me!

  • @andrewp4172

    Neat, and rather stylish. I like that wall street map. Continental breakfast only is a downer for me. Croissant and orange juice, I mean that's a starvation diet. I wonder if the intention is that you go elsewhere for your breakfast, or is it a way of 'upselling' to the restaurant.

    That is a coincidence as I stayed in the same one last year when I visited Edinburgh. Was impressed with the room, had a larger one although on my own further up the building. Definately recommend if you're after something cheaper but don't want to go Hostelling.

    Travel quite frequently for work and always find the Premier Inns to be reliable, clear and comfortable. Not the poshest or anything like that, but reliable. That looks like it is built from prefabricated pods, built in the factory and stacked on site, a bit like cruise cabins. Was involved in design/build of one like that in Glasgow (Citizen M, IIRC) at it basically arrived on the back of a wagon and was lifted straight into position and plugged in ... just a minimal core structure, the 'pods' made stacked on top of each other. Good for a night but I wouldn't like to stay longer.
