I don't know about you but I was brought up with Lego...I loved it...and as you may have guessed I still do! :-)
A lovely person sent me this and so I thought what would be better than making a video with it.
Just like Disney you are never too old for Lego! :-)

that lego train looks amazing
Reminded of the time I built a lego vehicle that had a quite complex motor in it. Demonstrated it at school. It could go quite a speed.
Great fun to take a ride when there are no other trains running. Cheaper per mile too - and no other passengers with mobile phones disturbing the peace! Oh! Did you check the loo's!

That stop-motion section was really cute! However, knowing firsthand how much extra time that adds, I can't blame you at all for (mostly) switching to a regular time-lapse. This is quite an involved Lego kit!

Wow, what an incredible video! For five minutes and twelve seconds you must have spent an enormously long time creating it. Lego themselves should pay you to use this video for advertising their products. Loved it!

I can't stop laughing at the idea of a future video; when the Paul and Rebecca Lego figures visit the disused station.

I've been modifying these battery boxes for years to extend the runtime and decrease battery consumption. I'm on the step of making LiPo batteries for them, as they simply can't fit that many regular batteries 😂

Hey Rebecca, I am really impressed... it is so cool. I was brought up with Lego too. And its the quickest build I've ever seen...
Having larger radius curves would likely make at least a small improvement to battery charge lifetime since there can be an amount of friction/drag generated when wheel flanges encounter extremely sharp curve radiuses. Of course having short wheelbase bogies/trucks can reduce that flange drag by reducing the angle between wheel flange and edge of railhead. Yes, that is an attractive little train. 🚄 And I like that the figures included a wheelchair, 🧑🦽those have figured in the lives of people I have known. And as for me, although I'm not needing one currently, the trajectory of some neurological and musculoskeletal things going on is known to most likely lead there.

I know that I am old. But the joy of lego used to be that you used your imagination to build anything from the same set of bricks. Now there are so many specific bricks for specific things, it is just a plastic meccano. Sad.
My sentiments exactly. There's no imagination when you're following the instructions. I'm retirement age myself, and I remember Lego bricks the same as you. We had a big bag of box stuffed with the 10 or so different shapes. I'm an architect, thanks to toys like Lego and Lincoln Logs. 🏛🧱🪵
@@jefflaufer32051960s Lego was my era. Everything all square and 'blocky' with only 45 degree slopes for any relief, and limited colours. But that was its charm. Lego was comparatively expensive then, so I never got very much, and certainly no trains ("You've already got a train set, why do you want a lego one?").
I think, well at least in my house...the initial set it's fun but then it's broken down into it parts later and it then enters the realms of being anything you want it to be. ♥️
@@thewhitewickmixtape I might have a harry potter train, dont thing it was mechanised. how about a Lego vs Tomy Trains long lasting comparision ( trains to weigh the same to see what effect track or motor efficiency has )

Entertaining! Lego has come on a tad since I was a kid 🙂
Suddenly I have a massive need to get my old Lego Train Sets out of the attic and set them up and play with them for a few hours. I would need to build them first obviously and I don't know where I would find the space but it is a big throw back to playing with the old battery powered cargo train set that must be in the loft . I often think about buying a new Lego Train set too.
We have had displays at both the London Transport Muesum and the Middleton Railway model railway weekends of Lego and similar systems
Nice video Rebecca, Shame they couldn't have included an extra power car type of thing rather than having a 'blunt' end.

does the direction of travel make a difference look at track joints maybe traveling the clock wise way would have less resistance ?? cool video :)

most out of pack duracells or similar start at 1.6v, rechargables seem to be 1.44v
Try the cargo trains much more fun.
How about the other batteries?....

@@thewhitewickmixtape There was a store own brand I found to be quite good - there are some comparison vids on YT but not sure if they are all US based.

Ooooo never thought of that, as a person who travels for pleasure as it were I avoid that situation when I can.
@@thewhitewickmixtape sometimes there are nice coaches on rail replacements. other times interesting recently retired service double deckers. The Rail Replacement Bus from Three Bridges to Brighton was a double deck Metrobus and gave really impressive views over the South Downs into the plunging hills approaching Brighton from the N/S upper front deck seat ( actually there is a service bus that does the same route roughtly - maybe one day you might explore )
