I'm gonna need a review on the snow white trailer and also Zegler's comments about disliking the original snow white despite her playing a main role in it ASAP my guy
I thought it was pretty good. I think the reviews set my expectations low, and so it exceeded my expectations. My biggest criticism is the 3 new side characters were all too goofy and shallow.
Less than 24 hrs, I don’t remember a tune to a song. I left thinking, they killed off another one. I seen the ancestors as a crossing & the tattoos & oar as a transition to a demi-god. Just like Elsa 🤷♀️
You should get Mrs. Brooks a V-tuber avatar. Also, I hear through the grapevine that the story in this movie is so disjointed because they cut up the Disney+ series to make it. They had to cut out massive amounts of filler story, which is why there are many gaps and narrative leaps. Really the hero's of the film are the animators who were able to turn this from a TV show into a movie in just a handful of months.
My wife and I were taken by her mom along with our kids. We found it to be extremely mid, which was not helped by the entirely forgettable songs and how strong the original movie was. Our 5-year-old liked it and our 3-year-old did not. With 5 being average, the weak/useless characters dragged it down to a 4/10 from me. Definitely one of the movies of all time.
Yeah since I heard this was meant to be a tv series and then was reworked to be a movie. We all know how that goes. I wasn't going to see it in theaters as it was. Would be a great movie to watch for free at a friends house with the kids it sounds like but thats it. Thank you both for going through the movie.
Don't think I heard this mentioned in the video but the "movie" was intended to be a tv series originally. It's not really a Moana 2. To borrow from Lion King, It's more like Moana 1 1/2. If you feel like something is missing, it probably was left on the cutting room floor. They just did a rush job to fill a movie release slate.
I very much appreciate that you cover kids shows, I have two boys and trust your reviews. When you say it is good I trust it (they also watch your sword videos). So though your audience for these may not be as large, your work is very appreciated.
I know the kids love first Mona and for me it was better then most of Disney stuff coming out at the time… Me personally I would of gave the first Mona 8/10.. This second one you guys say 4/10,, I believe and I have to agree.. I think to fix Mona 2 is to get rid of these side characters and Mona has to go back to the land of the monsters 👹 or realm of the monsters to get Shinny crab 🦀 to join her to find maui because he hasn’t been seen in awhile and she believes he’s been held hostage because he was trying to raise a island 🏝️ out of the sea 🌊 but somebody stopped him and stuff because,, Mona had a dream or vision about it… Which it could of been funny to see Mona trying to remember the dance 🪩 Maui did plus you could of had a funny joke with the crab 🦀 Tamatoa again like: You think you can come back in here and inspect me to join your team or quest to save Maui!??? If So,,, I will gladly do so!!! That’s two 2️⃣ call back scenes and jokes to the first one you could of done ✔️ and Tamatoa is a fan favorite,, plus: After the jokes; Tamatoa gives Mona reason why he will help her and I guess Maui and this island 🏝️ because there’s something very shinny there Tamatoa desires more then eating 🍽️ her!! And you could had Tamatoa as the boat 🚤 and Mona rides on him to find Maui and you could had tons of jokes like you brought the crab 🦀 to save me and stuff between Maui and Tamatoa But,, maybe after they save Maui and they raise the island 🏝️ and she steps on it and stuff We See Tamatoa go off scene 🎬 to get the shinny thing he desires and it’s something powerful or has a powerful god trapped inside like a genie 🧞♂️ perhaps… And Tamatoa runs off with it laughing and you end the movie 🎥 there with a cliff hanger setting up ⬆️ your third Mona movie 🎥 Leaving your audience with questions about Tamatoa and his true motivations for helping Mona and Maui and what is the thing he desires and what it does or how powerful it is!?!? So I kept the island 🏝️ plot from Mona 2 but just switched it up a little bit and I think 💭 would of been a better movie 🎥 That’s how I would fixed this movie
Honestly, I wasn't too impressed with the first Moana, by the way everyone was going on about it, I thought it might have been of their better productions, but I found it just a bit too dull, however I do like the fact they didn't go the girl-boss/Mary Sue route with her, that is the only good thing I can say about the first Moana, everything else was just bland and dull, so Moana 2.... hard pass on that!
Supposed to be an 8 episode Disney plus shit show...but they butchered it down to a movie so they cut out all the meat in the middle of the show, thats why nothing make sense, characters feel random, and there is literally no villain...Disney has lost all talent and ability to make anything good.
Just got back from watching it and can most assuredly say, this movie was awful. The songs were all forgettable to down right terrible Disney/rap hybrids. The character of the bat queen was COMPLETELY unnecessary and underdeveloped. The worst part though was the "Disney supreme girl boss" crap. The canoe designer character was beyond insufferable! The movie was beyond trash.
So i never go off what i think about kids movies. Not everything can be a toy story or shrek... i think it's average to below average but the girls have it a 5 out of 5. And they are ages 5 and 12... and my woman liked it. So it's a win to me.
They knew they didn't need to 'stick the landing'. Good animation & capitalizing on a hit like Moana with a sequel movie rather than a tv series.. little girls don't watch it on repeat bc it's a good story or even bc the musics good. It's why you can't dissuade them from making a live action version already - there's too much money to be made so they're simply giving ppl what they'll obv pay for. Hard to even call that bad business - you buy even a good product (I'd disagree) for cheap qualities, cheap quality becomes the demand
We saw it today i thought it was fantastic. Only loose end was the vampire lady but really my family enjoyed this one. Good humor, not really anything woke and im a stickler for that. Definitely a fun film
I literally just got back from watching it with my family. It was OK at best. I feel like the songs were not good or memorable. The plot was all over the place, and characters were unnecessary in many places.
Prolly gonna be an unpopular opinion but I actually enjoyed the movie, the new characters felt a lil forced but it was probably for the best given how they needed a comedic relief to take over when maui wasn't around.
Frozen 2 is shockingly bad. I was bored out of my mind and nearly fell asleep on my second watch; the only good things I can say about it are the animation is better and I like the music more than the first one. I don't think the first is good either, but it _could've_ been. All of the modern Disney problems started with Frozen.
Disappointment implies that there were expectations set and not met. ...Remind me, what was it about Moana that people liked, such that they had expectations to meet. Anybody? ...The water effects? (I have seen that movie and recall literally nothing about it except the first trailer.)
Well, I'll tell ya as someone who has kids it's certainly one of the movies I can stomach on repeat ad infinitum. I would argue Moana is one of the final goodies of Disney's legacy following The Princess and the Frog that encapsulates a good message tied into a catchy musical ensemble that allows the characters to properly play out their roles in an entertaining but easy-to-follow plot. Perhaps you might not be the target audience which is why you find it so lacking?
@@rusty__shackleford ...K. Lemme answer your question by first asking one of my own. ...Can you think of literally any musical that's at least *baseline coherent* and *competently performed* that the following review: "encapsulates a good message tied into a catchy musical ensemble that allows the characters to properly play out their roles in an entertaining but easy-to-follow plot" *Wouldn't* apply to?
I saw it with the niece and nephew and it was ok. Like... 7/10 good enough, nothing egregious in it. But ya, I could *definitely* see the parts where they needed another run through on the script and some shots. Some jokes should have been cut but the songs are the biggest disappointment. None of them are *bad* but none of them are great either. A lot of just... fine. Which considering that I was expecting a dumpster fire is already a positive.
I would never show a daughter (or son) of mine even Moana 1, because it's so anti-male, it's irrationally pro-female and poorly written. This is still "Disney's agenda" (I think we haven't had a male main character in a Disney film since Treasure Planet), and I doubt it will improve.
The first Moana is bad so idk how you can be disappointed. Tomatoa is the only good part, the rest is just a promotion for denigrating your traditions and ignoring your elders cuz you "feel it"
I recommend giving the waifu at least a second picture that activates while she's talking. PNG-Tuber style. Movement catches the eye more than static eyecandy.
I watch both Dave Cullen and Doctor Disaster, each of them with their own style of that. Dave has individual pictures he changes between and Disaster has a 2-3 second clip of him standing there that just repeats or plays backwards and then forwards again. I prefer Dave's style.
It's not that bad having the setup you both use, but maybe you could change into an avatar sometimes Shad? Might liven it up occasionally doing it that way.

This emphasis to me that apart from the DEI nonsense that infected Disney and most of Hollywood, Disney suffers from a lack of artistic talent when it comes to screenwriting and music.
I'm gonna need a review on the snow white trailer and also Zegler's comments about disliking the original snow white despite her playing a main role in it ASAP my guy
Shad and the Lady just need v-tuber avatars.
I thought it was pretty good. I think the reviews set my expectations low, and so it exceeded my expectations.
My biggest criticism is the 3 new side characters were all too goofy and shallow.
Disney is a massive disappointment.
I think the main reason this movie failed is because it's just a repurposed low budget Disney channel spin-off tv series
The “fangirl” was there to stroke Dwayne “Maui” Johnson’s ego.
Only thing reddemable about the ending is that it ended.
I didn't even realize it was getting a sequel.
Yeah since I heard this was meant to be a tv series and then was reworked to be a movie. We all know how that goes. I wasn't going to see it in theaters as it was. Would be a great movie to watch for free at a friends house with the kids it sounds like but thats it.
Thank you both for going through the movie.
The mid credits scene sets up a sequel and shows the batlady again.
I didn't even know there was going to be a Moana 2.
I think to fix Mona 2 is to get rid of these side characters and Mona has to go back to the land of the monsters 👹 or realm of the monsters to get Shinny crab 🦀 to join her to find maui because he hasn’t been seen in awhile and she believes he’s been held hostage because he was trying to raise a island 🏝️ out of the sea 🌊 but somebody stopped him and stuff because,, Mona had a dream or vision about it…
Which it could of been funny to see Mona trying to remember the dance 🪩 Maui did plus you could of had a funny joke with the crab 🦀 Tamatoa again like:
You think you can come back in here and inspect me to join your team or quest to save Maui!???
If So,,, I will gladly do so!!!
That’s two 2️⃣ call back scenes and jokes to the first one you could of done ✔️ and Tamatoa is a fan favorite,, plus:
After the jokes; Tamatoa gives Mona reason why he will help her and I guess Maui and this island 🏝️ because there’s something very shinny there Tamatoa desires more then eating 🍽️ her!!
And you could had Tamatoa as the boat 🚤 and Mona rides on him to find Maui and you could had tons of jokes like you brought the crab 🦀 to save me and stuff between Maui and Tamatoa
But,, maybe after they save Maui and they raise the island 🏝️ and she steps on it and stuff
We See Tamatoa go off scene 🎬 to get the shinny thing he desires and it’s something powerful or has a powerful god trapped inside like a genie 🧞♂️ perhaps…
And Tamatoa runs off with it laughing and you end the movie 🎥 there with a cliff hanger setting up ⬆️ your third Mona movie 🎥
Leaving your audience with questions about Tamatoa and his true motivations for helping Mona and Maui and what is the thing he desires and what it does or how powerful it is!?!?
So I kept the island 🏝️ plot from Mona 2 but just switched it up a little bit and I think 💭 would of been a better movie 🎥
That’s how I would fixed this movie
You can get the Lady a very simple vtuber avatar for cheap, sometime for free if you find the right places
The problem with Moana 2 is that Mario and Luigi Brothership does this all better.
Love the avatar!
Maybe try to get it animated and have expressions like a vtuber. That would be amazing!
Honestly, I wasn't too impressed with the first Moana, by the way everyone was going on about it, I thought it might have been of their better productions, but I found it just a bit too dull, however I do like the fact they didn't go the girl-boss/Mary Sue route with her, that is the only good thing I can say about the first Moana, everything else was just bland and dull, so Moana 2.... hard pass on that!
...I'm surprised you didn't know this was a TV series rushed into a movie.
Supposed to be an 8 episode Disney plus shit show...but they butchered it down to a movie so they cut out all the meat in the middle of the show, thats why nothing make sense, characters feel random, and there is literally no villain...Disney has lost all talent and ability to make anything good.
I typed in "moana 2 knights watch" in the search bar, and did NOT get your channel. Suppresion in action
Always love to hear the Lady. :)
I think the first movie was totally mediocre, bad even. Poor pacing and anti-climax.
Prolly gonna be an unpopular opinion but I actually enjoyed the movie, the new characters felt a lil forced but it was probably for the best given how they needed a comedic relief to take over when maui wasn't around.
There is an after credit scene that kinda sets up the next movie
So Shad gets Italaryan Moana wifey to talk with, and I just have my Rye on the Rock?
I didn´t know that Moana 2 exsisted
Noting that the tags for this vid are "wicked" and "review." Maybe this is a mistake and the first should say "moana2"?
At this point, Shad, you might as well just make a full rigging and turn the missus into a V-Tuber.
Hey Shad,
Do you think the algorithm is being tilted to the negative due to your association with rk outpost, nerdrotic, etc?
Most Disney sequels are ass, frozen 2 for example was beyond mid.
Alright, The Missus is here
This will be going better review
Sigh... They can't get anything right at Disney.
My daughter wanted to see this or Wicked. We probably should have seen Wicked instead.
Wicked is so good 💕
Disappointment implies that there were expectations set and not met.
...Remind me, what was it about Moana that people liked, such that they had expectations to meet.
Anybody?
...The water effects?
(I have seen that movie and recall literally nothing about it except the first trailer.)
Moana was massive and is a great movie. Don't be a redact
@@gingeranagram2467
'What do you like about it?'
'It's popular and great!'
You may as well not have replied at all. Honestly.
@@rusty__shackleford
...K. Lemme answer your question by first asking one of my own.
...Can you think of literally any musical that's at least *baseline coherent* and *competently performed* that the following review:
"encapsulates a good message tied into a catchy musical ensemble that allows the characters to properly play out their roles in an entertaining but easy-to-follow plot"
*Wouldn't* apply to?
There, there. At least we have live action Moana to look forward to. 🙄
It’s not
The first Moana is bad so idk how you can be disappointed.
I heard Donald Trump's gonna ban musicals from now on.
Ello shad. I know it's going to be tough to do daily uploads but I hope it helps beat the algorithm.
To quote C. S. Lewis: "A children's story that is enjoyed only by children is NOT a good children's story in the slightest."
It's not that bad having the setup you both use, but maybe you could change into an avatar sometimes Shad? Might liven it up occasionally doing it that way.
I prefer this channel to your others. But also I’m too old for a Mona review.
