This is a very dreamy idea to convert a 60+ year old American car into an EV.

This first generation Parkwood by Afteriya, the author himself was sincerely impressed with the vehicle, saying, "This is amazing..." and it is in fact a vehicle produced with great technology, but it is difficult to judge (laughs).
Is it like there is too much of a disconnect between the appearance and the performance, and it's confusing?
It's fitted with custom parts that I'm used to seeing, like the airlock wheels and air suspension, but it's a battered old car on the outside and an EV on the inside.
It's an American car that might bug my brain, which is getting dull after 50 years of age. w
Well, I think a converted EV is an interesting option for those who can afford it.
With an old car, it is hard to keep the engine and transmission in good condition, but if you want to convert it to an EV, you don't need them.
In the sense that the car looks like an old car and the inside is a modern, up-to-date model, could this be the ultimate high-tech customization?
As President Wakao said in the video, "It's an old car but maintenance free" is a dream come true.
But...
Actually, when the author first heard the outline of the project, he thought, "It seems to fit European & domestic old cars, but it may not be compatible with American cars..." I thought, "This would be good for old European and domestic cars, but not for American cars.
Because the charm of American cars is the feeling of the V8 engine, so even if it looks good, a silent motor would not give the feeling of an American car, right? I thought.
However, as it turns out, my fears were almost completely unfounded.
As I mentioned in the test drive section that follows, even if the engine was replaced by a motor, it still had the feel of an American car. At least as far as this Parkwood is concerned.
Of course, there is a big problem of "production cost," but I thought the converted EV of an American car was a good enough solution.

お値段にビビりますけど、個人的にはこういった今ではオリジナルに再生が難しいクルマをEV化して新たに命を吹き込むのが面白そうですよね😊

よほど思い入れのあるクルマが修理不可能になったりした時とか、清水の舞台から飛び降りる覚悟で、って感じですかね？w

日本製の部品なら信頼性も間違いないでしょうし。
筆者はもちろん、この車両のオーナーさんも生粋のアメ車ファンなので「信頼のメイドインジャパン」とか「日本製だから安心」という台詞を言うのは微妙なんですけどね（笑）
近未来なモーター音とノスタルジックなドアの開閉音のギャップが凄い!(笑) 次々にEV化する車達に寂しさを感じますが、こちらの車両は昔のSF映画のように夢がありますね☆
同乗したのですが、普通にアメ車しててビックリしました。w

手間も金もたくさんかかる、まさに大人の遊び？
発想自体は理解出来るし、やってやれない事はないだろうなぁとは思っても、そこに至るまでの困難を思えば普通はやらない系？w、
まぁでも、色んな意味で普通の自動車とはかけ離れてましたね。

何年か前にデロリアンをEV化という記事を見ました やればなんとかなるものなんですねw
映画のイメージもあって、デロリアンだったらEVになっても全く違和感ないでしょうね。というか、ガソリンエンジンよりモーターの方が似合う気がします（笑）
ガソリン臭い車が大好きですが、僕はめちゃくちゃいいと思いますよ。これも新しい一つの車のカタチなのかなと。

タイヤに関しては、純正よりもサイズアップした現代の高性能タイヤを装着すれば大丈夫だと思います。

面白いし、古い車両を長生きさせる方法としては、正解かもしれないですが、技術的苦労しそうですね。
ポン付け出来るようにならなそうですよね。
アメリカなら個人が自由にカスタムを楽しめるんですが、日本は色々と厳しいですからねぇ。
この車両も本当ならアメリカのEVコンバートキットを使いたかったそうなんですが…

evなんか車検5年間隔でもええんちゃんと思うけどな。
冷蔵庫とか電子レンジとか、電化製品に定期点検の義務があるか？って話ですよね。
ただまぁ自動車は命を乗せて走って、一歩間違えば人の命を奪う危険性のある「乗り物」ですからねぇ。エンジンと燃料がモーターとバッテリーに変わったとこで、車検は無くならないでしょうねぇ。
すごいけど 1959は歴史に残る名車なのに作り変えるのは。。。アメ車乗りとしては。なら電気自動車にボディーのせたほうが。
その考えもよく分かります。初代パークウッドですからね。
この車両は若尾社長が若い頃からずっと所有してるそうですが、逆に言うと、それほど思い入れのある車両でもないと、1000万円以上もかけて改造は出来ないのかな？と。
あと、古いモデルのエンジンなどの部品を後年の新しいものに交換するのと、新しいモデルの見た目（ボディ）を古いモデルに変えるって、得られる結果は似た様なものに思えますが、実は全然違いますよね？（笑）
