Just beautiful! The reflection on the lake❤In church today Sunday I said a small prayer for you and Leo’s safety as you made the climb. So I was happy to see this video released. Leo probably loved the trail running . Oh guys I’m crying:) ya’ll rock!!
You said it perfectly, what a Journey. Haven’t missed a day, selfishly sad it is ending. Thank you for taking us along. Your channel is worthy of 25k+ subs.
I am so incredibly excited for you and Leo!!! What a great adventure and thank you for taking all of us along with you. Knowing that you’re already finished, I hope you are going to do a summary reel on all the important things you learned about yourself, hiking with your dog, the trail and your equipment. I know there are things that must really stand out to you. Congratulations! What an amazing adventure!
Just wow!! Thank you for the hours and hours you spent recording and editing your journey and sharing it with us. Im SO going to miss not watching them every day. May God richly bless you and your family. Yes, I also choked up watching you and your wife and Leo reuniting. 😂 ❤
Oh my, at the end in the car you start explaining the process and I’m like “give me a minute Michael I’m still crying!” What a fantastic journey, thank you for bringing us all along!
Wow, just wow! I have SO enjoyed your journey. Thanks so much for sharing! You and Leo have accomplished something special and great. I look forward to your after Thru-Hike videos. I love the emotion that many of your videos evoke. Thanks Again :)
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep."(Robert Frost, from the poem, 'Stopping by Woods,' 1922). Nice going - the end is nigh, and it has been a rite of passage and a watershed experience. Leo is now a 2,000-miler, as are you. Your dog is a trooper and a tough little critter. The best to you both on summit day. Be well, stay safe. 🥾
It’s hard to believe I have been watching your journey for about 5 months. I was trying to imagine being in your shoes this last leg…I wonder for those who go SOBO as soon as they summit becuz really they just don’t want the experience to end so might as well just turn around and head back the other way. For those with lives and responsibilities to get back to, yes there may be an aspect of sadness the journey is over (and I’m not sure sadness is the right word to use here) but definite gamete of emotions. It’s been fun tagging along virtually with u. Thanks for the adventure ! You have def scratched my itch about what the AT is like and I’m def good (at this point in my life ) to just be a cheerleader for those hiking it. You guys did great. Kudos to Leo-wow what a dog !!
Having followed you and Leo since day one, I got really emotional watching you both meet up with your wife. So lovely. I'll be a wreck watching the final one! God bless you and your family - what an amazing achievement, love and support. :)❤
I was thinking of you all day yesterday as you hiked those last 5.2 miles up the mountain. Prayed for safety. What a beautiful sunrise over Katahdin. Now to start my day.
Outstanding!! From the sunrise to the end of the vid. Man I cried right along with you when you met up with your wife. What a great moment for you. Cant wait to watch you summit tomorrow. Gonna miss watching this journey unfold daily. What a ride!!
The sunrise over Katahdin will be etched in your memory forever. 🙌 As well as your sweet reunion with your wife. ❤ Can't wait to watch your summit tomorrow!!
Got a little teary at your reunion with your wife. So touching! Leo was beside himself to see her as well. You are going to have an amazing day tomorrow. What an epic journey!!
That was one of the best sunrises i have ever seen. Thanks so much for sharing it! My little best friend dog loved to camp and sleep in a tent (and sleeping bag!) She probably wished we could do it every weekend.
It's been wonderful watching you and Leo with you ups and downs on trail. What an accomplishment you both have completed. Going to miss the daily trail life. Enjoy your family and give Leo a pat on the head from Louisiana. Cheers.....
What a beautiful morning to wake up to, yes, the perfect stop. I’m so happy for you guys as you complete your magnificent journey. Stay well and hike on.
Wow is an understatement Michael. That you so much for your hard work and bringing such as great pre-summit video. That is how memories are born. God Bless
Agree 100 percent with the root/red carpet comments. Great to see the emotional reunion with your wife and look forward to seeing your climb up Katahdin!
So incredibly proud of you and Leo! Can’t imagine how happy you must be at this moment, but (again) I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing your journey. So, so happy for you. God bless you and Leo and your whole family.
I’m not crying you are crying 😭 🎉 I finished a 22 mile day hike in April and cried at the end. I finished faster than I expected… 7 hours 53 minutes. I can only imagine how you felt after 2200 miles!!! So happy for you and Leo! ❤
It has been my pleasure to watch your journey. I haven't commented much, which is normal for me, but I am amazed at Leo's temperament and ability to adjust to the trail. I wish you the best on your summit day and congratulations 🎉.
Wow!!! You must have been exhausted after those marathon days!! What a blessing to have such a gorgeous sunrise! Incredibly awesome memories you have to cherish! I can’t wait to watch you summit tomorrow!!! So excited and happy for you and Leo🥰🥰
OH MY GOSH TEARS ARE JUST RUNNING DOWN MY FACE RIGHT NOW. I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND LEO TO BE REUNITED WITH YOUR WIFE. CONGRATULATIONS. I KNOW YOU ALREADY SUMMITTED AND ARE WITH YOUR WIFE NOW BUT IT'S SO REAL FOR ME JUST WATCHING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME.
What a wonderful journey! The reflection in the lake was stunning. How exciting to know you are going to summit! Prayers for a great summit and great views!
So cool to watch your journey! What a sweetie! So chill and considerate I'm sure just talking to you was a boost the ladies needed! Your trip got me too! (Emotionally) That is something! Hiking and documenting 💙 Leo! There's always a transition or adjustment phase to be had! 🎉
Thank you so much for sharing your hike with us all. I don't comment much, but I'm thrilled for both you and Leo and have enjoyed living vicariously through you.
What an incredible blessing of the sunrise!!!what a fabulous end to your last sleep on trail! I’m sorry but at the end of this video I was crying , with tears of joy for you and your wife, and 5 more miles !!! ….pushing those final miles…Hike on!
What a beautiful sunrise you were blessed with along with the ultimate reward at the end of the day! You and Leo crushed the miles💪. So happy for you and am looking forward to tomorrow’s summit video!
Hi Mike and Leo, What an amazing blessing of that beautiful sunrise! This whole video I was on the verge of tears for you, knowing the anticipation of you and Leo getting to Kara. Then, as you were walking across the parking lot and finally saw her....your face....I lost it. I know tomorrow (last Sunday) will be another tear-jerker. I've followed a bunch of AT hikers through the years, and always feel great when the summit, but there's just something special about you and Leo. Thank you for sharing not only the miles, and miles, and miles, but your thoughts and feelings along the way/ What a journey. What an adventure. You can do ANYTHING!!!
I've been with you since the beginning. Absolutely the best vlog I have ever followed for an AT through hike. Excited for the next video, but have already seen the pics on Instagram. You and Leo have been a true inspiration. You've taken this journey above and beyond the ordinary. Blessings to you for the future.
Oh, I remember this. We saw a moose and her calf in one of those pond-y areas going towards the campgrounds. Watching you walk those gravel roads to the parking area, then spotting your wife and tearing up, you made me and my husband choke up. You brought back feelings from 34 years ago. Thank you, Mike for letting us share this with you. I hope you had great summiting. It’s a big ol’ climb up there, but there’s a sign waiting for you. Is it still a thing to bring a tiny rock from Springer to put up there? No one talks about it and I wondered. And the campground at Katahdin Springs was full or closed or something and we stayed at Daicey Pond. Our last sunrise on Trail.
Fantastic sunrise. You are the first hike that I have watcht hat made it all way most ones I watch have got hurt or quit or didn't keep my interest. Awesome job on all videos view editing. Cant wait for tomorrow's video. Glad you wife could come up to see you finish.
Great sunrise, congratulations on the solid hike. I’m sure you’re conflicted between wanting to finish and savoring the last days. Don’t be in a hurry.
At 5:50 - That was hilarious - LOL...I can relate. My body to me - "I don't care how young YOU think you feel in your mind...I'm about to remind you how "young" you're NOT !! At 20:38 - excellent view...I'd have had to take some quality still shots there.
I don’t really have words I know you have finished and might be home already but wow the last three or four days I could almost feel the emotions coming through my phone. Congratulations again until tomorrow. I live north of Jacksonville fl. And work in Jacksonville if you guys are coming through this area going home I would love to buy y’all a meal on your way home
Wonderful day for you & Leo. I’ve watched since the beginning of your hike & have thoroughly enjoyed every video. Huge day tomorrow so get some good sleep. Sweet Leo deserves a great spa day & special meal when this hike is completed. Thanks for taking us along your journey. CARPE DIEM
It’s a little late but when you summit, take the blueberry ledges trail. 3-4 weeks ago they were just starting to get ripe. There’s hundreds of blueberry bushes up there and an awesome view at katadin stream.
Beautiful sunrise! Did Baxter State Park change their rules about dogs? I know they used to have a rule that thru-hikers could not bring dogs through and had to make other arrangements. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to watching you (and Leo?) summit Katahdin! Do you plan to make a documentary showing all the highlights of your journey? Are you planning on doing the PCT or CDT in the future?
Do you filter Leo’s water. I know dogs can drink all kinds of water. I am just curious. I have enjoyed watching your hike. I am excited for your finish. 😊
Thank you so much for all the trail info, views and registration process at the bridge and park. Yours is the first vlog I've seen that actually gives detailed info and views of the upcoming summit process. So, just a couple questions: Why is your channel titled "I suck at hiking", when clearly you and Leo do not? Question 2, what advice would you give to a first-time solo hiker of the AT? Enjoyed your daily vlogs of this awesome journey and Thank You so much for sharing!!😊

You've been off the trail for almost a week now, dealing with any of the hiker depression?
No

So they say most people lose about 35 to 40 lbs is that pretty accurate?
Nope you can do it without that happening
You might have to adjust your eating habits real soon- lol
