The river crossing sure brought back some memories. Years ago, when HikeaNation came through southern Illinois, I was one of the volunteers to help paddle the large canoes used to ferry hikers across the Ohio River. It was on the return trip with just a few of us paddlers that I felt the mighty force of the river. It was a goshawk protecring it's nest that was divebombing hikers.

I've read that towards the end of the AT, a lot of hikers slow down because they dont want their journey to end. They start to have heavy feelings but also can't wait to summit. It's a strange feeling, Im sure. You guys are doing great. Those river crossings were wild. Leo's funny about the water. He probably just wants a spa day at this point😂

I'm wondering how much food you plan for Leo to carry for a 4 day? I also wonder if you send resupply boxes that include his food? My dog is a 4 year old springer spaniel and eats 1 cup twice daily. I'm planning to do a section or two next spring with her and trying to plan ahead. Does Leo eat more on trail than at home and how old is he? My dog loves to jump into big muddy spots but by afternoon she seems to be clean. She is a good hiker and I also use a retractable leash as she always wants to say hi to every hiker we meet. You guys are doing a great job and thanks for all the hard work vlogging every day.
We started with 4.5 pounds, and he eats 2 times as well. However, he started eating more so we added 8 moist and meaty packets as well
Is your wife going summite with you. So glad you made it across that scare river and didn't fall. Canoe crossing was cool. Surprised you did take a picture of white blaze in bottom of canoe seen it in other hike videos.
