Kramnik is that annoying friend that gets outplayed in a videogame and automatically resorts to the enemy cheating
so nice to see how Magnus makes Kramnik look like such a noob lol
The disrespect for one of the best players of all time 😂
Kramnik really dropped the ball hard with this one
"I had to play with the broken controller"
"The lag, the aim bots... Disquastung!"
Kramnik is that kid who loses a game of pickup basketball and runs home mad with the ball
Magnus played disquastungly well here.
i appreciate the original joke in this comment section
interesting
@@noysam3570that's what he meant
@@paperfoe i know, just pointed out the less original one
He just called them cheaters and goes back to playing again.. Who exactly was cheating against him ? Magnus ??
The truth is in short time format and with video camera up it is not easy to cheat anymore for people and probably not worth it either.
"Magnus is kinda better than you, not by a lot, but enough"
Thank you Levy
That "enough" just means 3000 elo or 11 times the rating of his average audience 😂
luckily he is only 3 times my rating
I don't feel like magnus is better than me, I mean, I never lost to him 🤩
And, dearest Vladimir, I kindly refer you to this Levy quote as well because nobody stands over being pissed at having been beaten by Magnus in this way.
I never lost to Magnus either!!! He doesn't play many 900 elos lol
great! 😂
The fact magnus ran his clock down was just just gangster haha.. then plays h6 haha
To be fair, running your clock down is just good sportsmanship. And Magnus has been on the receiving end of this a few times, when he was late to a game and started with a time deficit, and his opponent wasted his time to adjust the clock for an equal time for time.
@@daedalron Yeah, but at the same time not adjusting your clock when the opponent is late is not "bad" sportsmanship. If you're late to a game it's your problem. Still, it's nice to see when people do it out of respect
It wasn't because of sportsmanship, it just took him a minute and a half to decide, h6 or a6 first. It's the most important decision in life of any gentleman.
@@ilyaalexeev7845 Maybe it was sportsmanship, maybe it was "I won't let you escape my trolling with time pressure excuse."
The clock thing is completely standard on title Tuesday
Magnus is so powerful that he willingly nerfs himself and still absolutely dominates while making it look easy 😂 you love to see it
ye, I remember old chess engines, they were not calculating O-O properly and I could win every time delaying it
a6 and h6 is not really nerfing himself because its equal
Only time magnus ever demonstrated his full strength is in the game 6 of the classical world championship against nepo
Magnus is real life Sukuna
@@LaplacianDalembertian That has nothing to do with the original comment lol
I love that Magnus can just Troll Kramnik, it fills my heart with joy.
Kramnik tried bullying his rival, so he takes revenge, I see no problem here
Only I can damage my buddy, not you🤣
Kramnik should start a new chess tournament called tilted tuesdays
Kramnik should start a new chess tournament called _entilted_ Tuesdays
Kramnik should start a new chess tournament called entitled tilters
Tippling Tuesday? Drunk chess.
One thing that I love about Magnus is the fact that he's so amazing that he can play anything he wants, chess can be boring sometimes, but the way he shakes things up with his devious moves is indeed a sight to behold, he brings life to the game and, better yet: he has fun playing
Like the exact opposite of fischer tbh, whose main gripe was that chess was memorization heavy and unfun, for him at least.
He was good because he could play well, Magnus is good because he knows how to win without playing well.
he's such a know-it-all.. i think it's his photographic memory.
@@everettw.9610 Actually nice observation.
Wendel, spot on , " chess can be boring sometimes " this iis why I lose is because I honestly get bored , I mean I still lose often even when I am not bored , but if u get bored your std of play goes way down
Its so good to see that Magnus has collaborated with Levy to commentate all his games for him
Oh it's a lot more than commenting but Levy doesn't like to talk about the rest in public. Magnus is a difficult man to please.
Magnus is kind to include Hikaru and Kramnik in Levy's videos
Truly a wonderful illustration of the power of the active voice in writing.
Who is Levy?
Hikaru is kind enough to include levy in Magnus’s videos
lol
Levy will find this very interesting.
I think Kramnik should really sit down and think about the fact that Magnus can beat all these supposed cheaters while playing openings like that. Like really think is it more likely that cheaters lose with obvious winning positions or maybe he fell off and people are just better than him now
He says it's because the cheaters don't cheat against Magnus (or hikaru), but they do against him. Very convenient.
Most cheaters are probably smart enough nit to do it against magnus or hikaru since its so obvious and they're so high profile
Magnus barely ever loses so if someone Beats him here might get caught but that's what I was thinking Vladimir is such a baby
Kramnik: Gónna pútt thê blãme in my tîme.
Magnus: Not today old man.
Best comment hahahahha
Still 41 seconds left for Magnus? That’s an eternity.
I found out in Xmas that my 8 yo son is a fan of Gotham also :). He knows I like chess and suggested to get "how to win at chess" as a present for me. I bought it for both of us. It was a magical moment!!
That is so wholesome! Wish you both a 2024 full of brilliants and decreasing blunders.
@@kabirhanspal5363 thank you!!! Finding this common hobby with my son is the best present. I wish you a very happy, healthy and successful year to you and your family as well!!
learning chess is a sad story
@@kenchunglau2755 what do you mean?
Interesting how Kramnik was totally outclassed by a garbage opening but will always be remembered for his “anti cheating” crusade.
He will always be remembered for winning a match against Kasparov.
This will be forgotten in a month.
@@user-te7rf8ik7z I don't know about that one. We're already half-month in, and the scandal is still well and alive.
@@user-te7rf8ik7zdid he , chess has evolved since then, he gets dominated by the guys today
@@angelmendez-rivera351 don't know about you, but i have totally forgotten by now)
@@user-te7rf8ik7zI'm sure you forgot. Definitely looks like you forgot about it after seeking out this comment and responding after 2 months. Mhm mhm looks like you forgot to me!
If Hikaru's opening is called the "Bong Cloud", Magnus should call this one the "Vape Pen".
The Bong Cloud is not Hikaru's opening. He just plays it sometimes
In Hikaru’s covering of this game, he showed that magnus chose this opening to echo one of hikaru’s openings done recently
wow, that is just beautiful, using the opening the guy he's accusing of cheating used once, against him, it's like backing up your homie but without any words
was it with fabiano?
@@LoveiorYeah, in SCC
it's ridiculous that he called it's hikaru's opening
@@seelmodge7881 probably easier to remember what game he's talking about. I remember that position in turn 4-5 on a Hikaru video vs Fabiano where Hikaru was saying there is a solid line but he ended up getting it wrong
11:41 he doesn’t castle because he’s still considering playing h4, h5, h6 and using the rook on the h file. In these types of structures the king is actually quite safe on e1 or f1.
Edit: I swear I made this comment before I saw that Magnus actually started attacking with his h pawn.
My man predicted the goat 😎
Very interesting…
How would Magnus cheat if he doesn't even use more than 1 sec for a move😂
Hikaru be like hold my cup 😂😂😂
wrong person, try again
Didn't he already posted a video??
@@MawDawshe's talking about the Hikaru video of similar title and content
@@vanancio eh.
Arf🐶
damn levy fully dripped out in that gucci fit
😂😂😂
i was wondering if the Gs were for Gotham. my dissapointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
It could be that Magnus didn't castle in honor of Vladimir's famous invention, no castling chess, one can read about it in wikipedia; tldr motivation behind it is that castling makes chess boring and increases the percentage of draws tremendously
oh my god youre right
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND THANK FOR THE CONSISTENT VIDEOS 🎉
Now I'm wondering if you could somehow make Stockfish and similar engines troll human players by starting with terrible openings and still winning.
You can set them to different openings
that is very easy to do yes. You can also start with pawn or piece odds. There are even videos of for example Magnus playing stockfish that is down a knight or something i think.
That’s basically what mittens is. A lot of strong players against mittens look at the opening as weak and find the middle game and endgame crushing.
Trollfish, i'm into it
@@TactfulWaggleIs that an actual chess engine? If not, that's one hell of a name you came up with!
It's insane looking at the end game how much better Magnus developed his pieces in half as much time... Kramnik was exactly where Magnus wanted him, and he didn't realize it until he was already mated.
Actually Kramnik had an equal position according to the computer and only lost it due to a simple fork on his bishop losing him the piece. In some of the previous moves to it computer shows he was slightly ahead, so it's not like it was some far-fetched thing only a computer would find.
@@RaniaIsAwesome the computer can say what it wants but it shows the levels to this game. kramnik never had a way to win Magnus was setting him up.
"And instead of playing F5, Magnus plays...F5" lol
Gotta love Magnus, standing up for Levy in his fight against Kramnik. Magnus is such a nice dude.
It's actually quite disheartening to see this unravel. I remember my grandfather was a huge chess fan, starting to play and watch WCC at around 1991. His favorite player wasn't Kasparov (it was Tal), but he actually rooted for Kramnik to dethrone Kasparov in 2000. I guess he got tired of Kasparov beating everyone and switched to the underdog. He embraced some of his play style quirks (adapted mainly d4, c4 lines). To see a man that beat a chess legend, regressing to an infant child-like behavior simply because he isn't as good at chess as he was at the beginning of 2000's is just numb. Hopefully he embraces the fact that no man can be at top of his chess shape forever, even Kasparov wore off as time went by 90's, but did he act like this? Obviously not, because the man has manners and ego in line according to his IQ. Hopefully Kramnik changes not because I want him to but because I would like my grandpa to be proud in heaven by supporting this guy when he was still alive.
1. Never expect or ask someone to change.
2. You can hate artist and like his talent simultaneously. It's totally ok.
Never meet your heroes, the saying goes. This also goes to show that being a genius at chess does not mean you are not also a huge idiot.
Magnus is the type of guy to disrespect someone so hard they call cheats
Fantastic recap. Hilarious and educational 😎👍🙏
09:56 "Because he (Magnus) is kinda better than you. Not by a lot but....enough". The biggest understatement in Chess history 🙂
Biggest lie in chess history.
@@big_smokes_house6085that’s what I was thinking. He said “not by a lot” which is cap
that was fantastic! nice work, Gotham Chess
OMG that Rh4 move is gorgeous
Kramnik found Magnus’ trolling very interesting
"okay lets do the procedure"
that rook left by magnus was pure symphony ....and the opening was savage ..
How to beat Magnus in 4 steps. Works 99% of the time:
Step 1: find a bed.
Step 2: Lie down into the bed.
Step 3: Fall asleep.
Step 4: Keep dreaming.
I crushed sleeping Magnus, I think I'm ready for Titled Tuesday!
That time slip was like the scene when Aquiles in Troy says that rock won't take the glory from me
It's not an airport, Kramnik, no need to announce your departure.
Magnus levels the playing field (on time), then proceeds to blitz out moves. Pretty much dispelling any possibility of a cheating accusation. Absolute legend!
i saw the f5 and e4 combo possiblity the second magnus moved the rook up, and i just wanna say, thank you levy for making me interested enough in chess to get good enough to see that
Not to say that you’re not good at chess or anything but levy was talking about f5 literally two seconds before😅
there is no humiliation, this opening is feasible
Love how Levy says „ very, very interesting“
if agadmator or gotham covered a game first, i usually didn't watch it a second time. Now I'm watching the same games twice. I like that each channel focuses on slightly different things in the game and a few different positions in the same game get highlights. Very nice for a better understanding of a single game
3:06 this was hilarious 😂😆
I love your breakdowns.
This way we appreciate every brilliancy Magnus invents and he is motivated more and the invested energy is not in vain.
Inhuman, Magnus the only one to completely humiliate gm’s like they are 400 elo Oscar’s
Magnus is just trolling everybody at this point he’s just the 🐐🐐🐐🐐
Again seeing levy in magnus video . That gr8 of magnus for showing levy ao many times!
Waiting for Levy to say “get outa here” has become instinctive now
It's almost like Magnus knows he's going to end up in a Gotham recap
Rocking the Gucci. Make that money bro
Kramnik be shouting at the ceiling after this game
Bro said crooks
Levy should pay Magnus for every Thumbnail with his Face
Levy never fails to make it interesting!
At 9:00
Magnus opening is easy to remember. Pawns take the shape of M🔥
"I had a little bit too much Vodka" - Vladimir Kramnik
Levy hitting me with the Levy stare 0:00
My bro levy rocking gucci sweat damnn g
Kramnik exudes "lil brother" energy
"You know the procedure."
xD
Can you do an episode of just reviewing Kramnik games where he's claiming everybody is cheating? I would love to analyze all of his blunders while he's claiming opponent cheating every move.
My boy Levi with that GG drip
Idk what GG is ,I thought his sweater said 69😂
you are so fun to watch, i feel i understand more in chess after watching you comment and explain. :)
The new positional meta is doubling your pawns to create a solid block that can simultaneously cover the king and advance forward.
I thing Magnus can play what he want and he win! Incredible!!!!
Levy never fails to appear on Magnus' videos
Magnus: " I wont let the clock take my glory"
Clowning on Kramnik. That's just savage
Kramnik didn't forget it was his move, but simply showed up 1:20 minutes too late. Magnus then followd suit, so as not to give Kramnik an excuse, and also spent 1:20 on his ...h6 move. And then proceded to obliterate Kramnik.
Magnus never fails to be in Levy's videos
looool, "...or maybe I'm just alergic to Magnuses oppenings" 🤣
I knew you uploaded this yesterday, was so high I thought I was trippin
Can we give kramnik a winning streak and then accuse him of cheating cos I would love to see his response to this kind of thing
This is not a "ridiculous opening", from Black's perspective this is a kan sicilian with bishop on c5 and pawns on h6 and d6, which is a valid opening
The accuser slowly slipped into illness, now he is on the verge of madness
"not by alot"
Levy's 2024 new year's resolution should be to not make a single Magnus video 😂
To loose all the views from the channel?
Yes, we need them tightened.
Magnus:farts
Levy:I'm gonna make fortune on this!
I really don't get these comments. If you're a commentator/creator/personality covering any game/sport and the literal GOAT (or at worst top 3 of all time) of said game/sport is active and at his best....of course you're going to make a lot of content covering them.
It'd be like if Michael Jordan was playing today and in his streak with the Bulls and then criticizing a youtuber for covering him a lot.
Hey, any chance you would try a long video where you and someone else openly talk about your strategies with each other while genuinely playing to win? Basically just playing chess with your cards on the table
Honestly, I'm here for "get outta here"
I was reading your book at my parents house and one of my nephews recognized it and got excited. So .. I gave away the BOOOOOK!!
Now I need to order another copy ;).
Already saw Hikaru's video on this but wanted to watch it again anyway because it's hilarious. I can only imagine what Kramnik was thinking during this game.
Does this not show the complete hypocrisy over the Hans situation, Magnus arguably acted far worse. Yet now all his fans boys following the play book of Hans supporters.
@@jorddy9209 How is it hypocritical? Everyone criticized his actions. And unlike with this situation, there actually *was* reason to think Hans cheated. And unlike with this situation, Magnus eventually realized nothing was happening and stopped making accusations. Kramnik was proven wrong multiple times, and he's still throwing a tantrum. If you don't understand how these are completely different situations, then that says far more about you than about so-called "Magnus fanboys."
My guy is having a hard time adjusting to his new found midness.
Magnus is the definition of "On another level", it's insane.
Magnus is hilarious!!
You're a robot
@gweebi 💯
Gotham never disappoints 😂👍
Magnus showing Kramnik respect by running down his time in one sense, and totally trolling him with the opening…. and ultimately playing an amazing game! as always, excellent content! Thank you Levy
I think one of Levy's new year resolution was to look fresh cuz GOD DAYUM does he look good with that GG shirt
Magnus saying to Kramnik : You are finished stop accusing my kids 😅
Magnus is the type of person to play Queen's gambit on the edge of the board
levy cut that awkward stare out😂😂
Levy rocking tha drip
Stockfish learned to play chess from Magnus.
Kramnik is the antagonist of the story; he's not one of the protagonists.
Love chest drama
levy never fails
