    As an Asian American man, I can understand what he’s saying. He isn’t trying to offend or hurt anyone. These are just plain facts and I think you had to be born an asian man in America to understand this completely.

    Some interesting facts. It was Asian Americans who developed Solid-State Electronic Technology in 1958 at Bell Labs at Murray Hills New Jersey. The USA and the World went from bear skins and mechanical switches to the Modern Age of MOSFET/ SOLID STATE ELECTRONICS, and remote switches and ADVANCED the US Military in technology like Nuclear Power Reactors in both SSBN Nuclear Submarines and Super Aircraft Carries overnight. It reduced radiation exposure to Freeman Dysons designs of ATOMIC REACTORS made at General Atomics to US Sailors, created exact timed functions of systems of US Naval Ships; and allowed Laser Guided Munitions, Satellites, and many other Weapons to be used in the MODERN AGE OF WAR!

    Without any recognition Asian Americans who developed US Technology received not so much as a thank you from both the US Government or from the people of the USA. In 1959, Dawon Kahng, Simon Tze, and Martin M. (John) Atalla at Bell Labs invented the metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) as an offshoot to the patented FET design.[27] Operationally and structurally different from the bipolar junction transistor,[28] the MOSFET was made by putting an insulating layer on the surface of the semiconductor and then placing a metallic gate electrode on that. It used crystalline silicon for the semiconductor and a thermally oxidized layer of silicon dioxide for the insulator. The silicon MOSFET did not generate localized electron traps at the interface between the silicon and its native oxide layer, and thus was inherently free from the trapping and scattering of carriers that had impeded the performance of earlier field-effect transistors. Following the development of clean rooms to reduce contamination to levels never before thought necessary, and of photolithography[29] and the planar process to allow circuits to be made in very few steps, the Si-SiO2 system possessed such technical attractions as low cost of production (on a per circuit basis) and ease of integration. Largely because of these two factors, the MOSFET has become the most widely used type of transistor in integrated circuits.
    Dr. Dawon Kahng was an inventor in field of Solid-State Electronics.
    Dawon Kahng was born on May 4, 1931 in Seoul, South Korea. He studied Physics at Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, and emigrated to the United States in 1955 to attend Ohio State University, where he received a doctorate in physics.
    He was a researcher at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Murray Hill, New Jersey and he invented MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor), which is the basic element in most of today's electronic equipment, with Martin M Atalla in 1959.[3] He, along with his colleague Simon Sze, also invented the floating gate memory cell, the foundation for many forms of semiconductor memory devices. He also conducted research on high frequency Schottky diodes, ferro-electric semiconductors, and luminous materials, and made important contributions to the field of electroluminescence. He also invented Floating Gate non-volatile semiconductor memory in 1967.
    After retiring from Bell Laboratories, he became the founding president of the NEC Research Institute in New Jersey. He was a fellow of the IEEE and a fellow of the Bell Laboratories. He was also a recipient of the Stuart Ballantine Medal of the Franklin Institute and the Distinguished Alummus Award of the Ohio State University College of Engineering. He died of complications following emergency surgery for a ruptured aortic aneurysm in 1992.

      Although these scientists were responsible for the development of other technologies, they were denied the Nobel Prize over and over again while others who used their technologies were given the Nobel Prize. Noted is the fact that the Nobel Prize winners were all white and that their inventions could NOT exist without these Asian American technologies that were deliberately overlooked, denied, and marginalized and removed from US history!

    • @stevechan6244
      @stevechan6244 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The US Patent and Trademark Office calls the MOSFET a "groundbreaking invention that transformed life and culture around the world"[66] and the Computer History Museum credits it with "irrevocably changing the human experience."[10] The MOSFET was also the basis for Nobel Prize winning breakthroughs such as the quantum Hall effect[76] and the charge-coupled device (CCD),[77] though there was never any Nobel Prize given for the MOSFET itself.[78] In a 2018 note on Jack Kilby's Nobel Prize for Physics for his part in the invention of the integrated circuit, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences specifically mentioned the MOSFET and the microprocessor as other important inventions in the evolution of microelectronics.[79] The MOSFET is also included on the list of IEEE milestones in electronics,[80] and its inventors Mohamed Atalla and Dawon Kahng entered the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2009.[13][14]

    • @bryant475
      @bryant475 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ChariotOfFaith Yes, I do agree that the media is also an agent of indoctrination for sure. Now, in terms of attractiveness, everyone does have different tastes and there are various types of people that find various types of people attractive. However, as you said, a good percentage of it is also inherent/biological. Also, certain facial features are inherently seen as attractive, but this also varies culture to culture. For example, thin features are valued in the black community as much or almost as much as in the white community. North East African women such as Ethiopian/Eritrean/Egyptian are generally regarded as the most attractive Africans by basically everyone. Even this professor eludes to it in another video. These women generally have thin/fine features. It's still pretty subjective though, and there is also something to say about someone growing in attractiveness in one's eyes after connecting with their personality, their minds, hearts, souls. For instance, pretty much every study shows that the more two people connect in terms of common interests, morals, principles, values, belief systems, etc., the more attractive they become, mainly because the mind, heart and soul realizes that these things are hard and rare to find and we all want someone who understands us, complements us, engages in activities that we like, and so on. As a result, the person increases in value significantly. These aspects are significantly more important than superficial things such as height, and money for instance. Unlike superficial aspects, These are the aspects that lead to great relationships and marriages, which even biologically speaking, marriages are beneficial for increased offspring survival (having 2 parents is astronomically more beneficial than just one). And yes this is all backed up with scripture! As a Christian myself as well, God cares about the heart and soul, and all of those important aspects come from this :) true beauty rises from within!

      It’s just how American marketing is you will subconsciously choose the white guy like Matt Bomer in the slide show because you’ve been slowly programmed to. Now if you subconsciously see the Asian Models or actor with exact height, wealth, physique you might reconsider. Let’s just use Jay Park or Daniel Dae Kim as an example since he can fit this criteria. they have the features of a typical Asian man with high cheek bones and small eyes (im Asian too so it’s not offending anyone) but their physique and role in the world make a impact. Given a choice between the typical American (fat with a southern accent stereotyped by the world) or Asian (limited English and smaller frame) the women might have a harder time to pick between the two choices.

    This video fails to mention that in most to all of Asia, the beauty standard is also western. In South Korea, for instance, surgeries to make one's eyes bigger, and nose more prominent, are common. In Japan, many are coloring their hair brown or blonde. In India, skin lightening is big business. The white men in that overhead slide are also considered handsome by Asian women throughout Asia-- despite those Asian women growing up around Asian men. I think the news, fashion and movie industries have more influence on how humans perceive beauty versus simply growing up around people who look a certain way.

Qian Xuesen also served as a US Army Col. during WWII and worked on the Manhattan Project; but because of racism of the time, he was forced out of both the Manhattan Project and the USA; and had to returned to a different China in 1955 than the one he was born.
