      it wasn't a mistake so much as gege was pretty ill when making these panels and therefore uploaded storyboards to meet the deadline without literally working themselves to death (they took a hiatus after this).
      imo the point in the video stands about it being a good representation of maki's frenzy, it was probably the best possible way for Gege to sacrifice detail without hurting the pacing or tone of the fight

    Ok so I LOVE Gege's coloring, he has said he's colorblind and the palette doesn't make any sense to him, but I think the fact he can select colors that just look similar and coloring them just based on value alone is AMAZING, if you've noticed how the palettes in the colored pages and covers are ever so slightly off with the canon colors for the characters, that's why
    I think this offers him a lot more dynamism when coloring, it looks gritty and I think it's fantastic

    When I started reading JJK, it took some time for me to really enjoy it. For me, the moments where they're art truly grasped me was in the 2nd Mechamaru fight and the Choso fight. The way they use panel and draw the flow within them is just amazing. A short but great example is when Itadori fights the Jetpack Lady. Great video. You explaining they're style morenin depth and giving your advice on it really helps. Keep it up!

    I really like this series, your videos are awesome. i have some advice on how you can get more views.
    I think you should add the name of their most popular work next to the authors name in the title, it should probably be the first thing in the title of the video. since most people don't remember the names of authors, they are more likely to search for them using their work. so it think you would get a lot more views if you put the name of the manga in the title. Like: "Tokyo Ghoul, Sui Ishida(artist analysis)". you can try changing the titles of your old videos and see if it works.

    For me this guy was not only inspired, but made Togashi's art in a more solid and beautiful way for me, you can tell by the painting being a bit chalk and pastel and the sharp lines, but the faces of his characters are more definitive, he doesn't vary in styles in a way that bothers me like Togashi for me, I just prefer his other inspiration, Tite Kubo, who according to GeGe is an inspiration too.

    Yeh the stray line hatching thing is like my biggest gripe with their work lol, from what I remember he said he dosent have the strongest control on digital either its just easier for weekly but still, it feels like he dosent know what hatching is when he does that, I really dislike it on the figures cus he uses it to define the muscle and tones on bodys and its just ugh, I couldn't stand looking at toudou
    Also did you notice the heavy horikoshi influence on their work? Really stands out in their cleaner stuff lol

    • @bruh1704
      @bruh1704 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hatching on the body actually makes a lot of sense. Regardless of style the human body is not as perfectly sculpted and defined like baki, jojos or dragon ball yet it is not soft spoken as these are athletic characters. The hatching makes use of positive and negative space to infer the outlines of muscles as they would look in real life. The difference in the outlines of muscles under harsh contrasting light and normal day light is insane and gege chose a method that not only is time efficient, but fits perfectly stylistically and further enhances the art. The hatching on hands and the body direct movement in the characters and follow along the musculature as if the fibers were moving. If the hatching was removed it would drastically decrease the art as it would become flat and boring while also removing the energy that the sporadic lines emphasize.

    • @victorkaranja1420
      @victorkaranja1420 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bruh1704 nah man, I aint got an issue with hatching *on the body* its specifically how he hatches. like again, the toji back illustration, Idk how to entirely articulate my issues but one of the big ones is that a majority of the lines are a single lightweight, and its placed in a way that dosent make them come off like shadows more just scribbles. Actually I think the best way to describe it is that theres no sense of volume or 3 dimensionality to the form.
