    Nice video. Nice to see a building that's a bit different as opposed to the standard cookie cutter rooms.
    That Ratchadapisek area from Suttisan down to Asok is my favorite area to live in Bangkok. Especially from Huay Kwang to Rama9. There used to be a good local (not tourist) night market at Huay Kwang too.

    I have stayed in condos in rama 9 that were cheaper and offer a better layout and and so on than in the ashton , I love the rama 9 area .

    Ashton Chula-Silom, Ashton Asoke, and Ashton Rama 9! All beautiful buildings in their own right, for me Ashton Asoke has the best pool. My only gripe is in most of their rooms you have to sidestep around the bed to access your wardrobe and balcony which is a pain!

      Rental price was only on 1.. these units were direct with the developer.. a quick google for rental units in there would find the same style with a price but takes a bit of searching around I’m afraid

    Glad to hear jodd fair is going. It's hawker restaurants(tourist) not a real night market. For street food follow the alley around the back of Tesco.

    Great videos Rob. Really enjoy the insights. Can you give any tips for somebody who would love to stay at some of these premium places like the Ashton but perhaps just for 2 weeks or a month?

      To be honest your looking for an airbnb for that period of time.. keep in mind that legally min stay in Airbnb is 1 month
      I would never stay less than that 😉🙈 haha

    But........ VERY SMALL & VERY EXPENSIVE!
    So I'm not surprised there is still a lot of availability!

      Across most of Bangkok there’s only about 40% occupancy rate in these condo blocks

    The Ashton condos always have the best ,prime locations and great facilities.
    The pools at Life Asoke are absolutely stunning.Facilities at Life Asoke Hype are great too.

    I'm in a condo next to the Petchaburi MRT. Rama 9 area is one stop north and is where I do all my daily living stuff like banking, Tops market etc. Then one stop south is Asoke and tourist central if that what I want to do. Important to me was to be within reasonable walking distance to the parks which was why I did not take a condo in the Rama 9 area but it's a great area.

      Sound logical to me 👍🏻 is there a park near Petchaburi though? That’s deffo a downside to Rama 9 for sure! We just got a park open at chidlom that was much needed! Concrete jungle

      @@ProjectBangkok I found an exercise area under the big tollway interchange to the west of rama 9, just past the makkasan railcar graveyard. But it's not very nice so I walk to Benchshiri or Benchkitti (30 mins). I look specifically for pull-up bars. Benchashiri has lots of those. In the morning or evening lots of locals getting some exercise in so the people watching is good also!

    Would have been nice if you had shown the gyms and shared office spaces. (apparently there is 2 gyms and office spaces, 1 in each building, do you get access to both?)
    Also, from other videos I saw, this place have a corridor layout, doesn't it have that sound issue you mention in previous video?

      There were people in the gym and office when I was filming that day and wasn’t going to be “That guy” lol I’m not a real estate agent don’t forget. I would say that in ashtons the build quality is so good that it’s likely not a problem

    The last unit i would tear down that study area for a larger livingroom. Nice tour not so much fluff just a good show and then on to the next.

    Another very good video - but I am shocked by the size of the rooms and the prices quoted. I would go mad in a condo that small. It wouldn't work for me.

      The first room in the vid was the only one I could afford about a year ago and that’s the exact reason I didn’t move in also.. for some people though this will be an ideal space to have. It’s all about perspective

    Beautiful building and apartments. But bro can you explain me how in Thailand(and some other asian countries) they calculate size of apartments. For example that 43.6 sqm apartment would be around 32-35 sqm at most in Europe. So how did they get such a big number. I mean that LDK is super narrow its like maybe 15 sqm, bedroom is like 7 sqm(plus 4-5 sqm for that area right from the bed) and bathroom 5 sqm. So that is more like 32 sqm. Same thing with my apartment in China. It the contract they mentioned that it is 162 sqm big...but after all the measurements i did i realized that it's around 100 sqm big.

    Rama 9 and the 2001 Tina Arena minor hit - Soul Mate Number 9. the district in Bangkok, Thailand and the Thai king - really this song is about them, but someone changed it from Soul mate number 9 to Rama number 9

      No Ashton is due to be “demolished” actually. But no this is not the one that has an ongoing argument about it’s land access with the MRTA

    Went looking at this project a couple of weeks ago. I really don't like this, and similar projects, where common facilities as "sun deck", rooftop garden and pool areas are facing north/nort-east. I did however really like projects like Celes Asoke, Park Origin and Rhythm Ekkamai Estate.

    I looked at moving to Rama 9 - was interested in life asoke building. 8 lanes of traffic noise, can't cross that road. I like walking and that area is terrible for it. I moved to pattaya instead - think i saw you last weekend in the avenue/villa market??

      That I showed in the video yes.. all of these units are from the developer.. if you like. Room type and style then take a note of it and do a quick google for rooms to rent there.. there’s only so much I can do haha

    Very nice but a bit pricey for what you get in my opinion. The 1 unit at close to 1/2 a million GBP really???? I know it's a city capital but I would want a lot more at that price.

      They're horrible in every SE Asian country. On really high condo floors there are less of them though, so try and live above them.

    I don’t know if I could get used to living without fresh air flow. You have to live with all the windows closed and air con there. Not only because of the heat and pollution but the noise also. It’s a very artificial living environment

    Nice design but those buildings are the worst when comes to energy efficiency. It would cost a small fortune to cool. It’s black and the glass panes aren’t good insulators.

    A couple interesting layouts at Ashton. However, that neighborhood is awful. I stayed there for one month, and it’s basically a lower-tier commercial district with poor walkability, limited food options (mall, and Jodd Fairs has moved), and surrounded by big, noisy roads.

      Wow seriously? Did you look behind the mall? There’s over 100 local Thai vendors down all the back streets.. jodd fairs is there till the end of the year but even with that gone Rama 9 has more food than most other areas in bangkok by far

      @@ProjectBangkok I’m not speaking only about food. There are better neighborhoods that feature a more pleasant atmosphere with more diverse neighborhood amenities within a very short walk. IMO that Ashton condo isn’t worth paying to live in Rama 9, especially longer-term.

    These apartments are more for bragging rights of prestige in BKK 🤣There are less pretentious paradise like lux designs at a fraction of these prices. But sure, much more seductive than 5* apartments here in London.

I absolutely love Bangkok, just relative to other big cities in SE Asia, accommodation has gotten pricey. As an example, here in Hanoi we pay slightly under 20,000THB (equivalent) for over 100sqm

Simply meant apartments feel 'small relative to the price' and that Bangkok buildings seem to try and sell the facilities over the actual apartment. Regardless, I enjoy your videos and love the city!     Sadly, i watched the whole video and dont know how much a si gle unit was. Fancy fade in and font disappeared so fast and was so hard to read on my phone, I could not even figure out what language I was looking at... not worth going back and trying to find the 2 second slices....

      You got 2,700 likes out of 138k views and with only 15k subscribers, not sure where you get 27,000 people disagree with my font/fade criticism. Don't think you know what a Karen is either. Someone making a comment is not a Karen, going over the top, becoming unhinged, endless rants, that makes a Karen. I was merely suggesting that some people watch on a small phone screen, and legibility should be considered more than trying to be all fancy and making it hard to read. 5 condos and after missing a few prices, I focused and still did not get a single price. Maybe a "I will keep legibility in mind! Thanks" would have been more appropriate than attacking me and being a d1ck.

      Prime location in a luxury building in the best city in the world.. I’ve seen 100+ condos in Bangkok up to 500,000 per month.. this is a good deal trust me. I get zero from making this video by the way. Just been straight with you
