All the neighbours in the industrial estate must hear someone sending it, casually glance and roll there eyes everytime they see a DW car, just another day! 🤣🤣 Awesome video once again! 🤙
The cut to the add was perfect - “the plastic pot bothered me”;check it out now the funk soul brother. The worlds best m3 gets better, great work chaps
I reckon that DW should do an open day in 2023 so that we can all come and see the cars in the flesh, meet the DW Team and purchase some discounted merchandise ;-) Some serious whining from that box, love it. Cannot wait to see this beast, throwing flames and ripping up the track days in 2023. Ever thought of entering it in Time Attack Series for some fun?
We've been looking to move for many years and drag Craig along with us. But unfortunately we'd need another £1.5 million for the building alone. Which doesn't come by very easily in the current financial climate.
I have an f80 axle in the rear of my e30 which is theoretically miles ahead. However, I Didn’t really ever have any issues with the trailing arm in terms of handling or grip etc. even with 550+bhp. only ever need to raise the beam to get everything back into spec. Wouldn’t bother with any of those eccentric type adjuster things.
Thanks man. I drove the car yesterday and with the new geometry / weight distribution it drove amazingly, so I'll be keeping the beam and just be fixing my toe out situation.
3 things about this video. 1:Loving the build and car is gonna be a proper weapon again real soon. 2love the bond for the car here. Both really invested in 1 man's car and heart warming to see how these boys connect. And 3.... when did you start knocking about with seth rogan @15:01
15:13 Phil - can you share detail about the wheel arch radius adjustment? Haven’t seen it made that way before. What datum points were you referencing on the wheel to get the new arch?
It's just trial and error. you keep moving the datum and length until you get the rough radius you require. It's just by eye really, but the sweep gives a nicer line to aim for when cutting.
Please dont go away from the trailling arm rear suspension, if BMW could make it work in the big touring car races against the 190e multi-link rear am sure you could too!
I remember reading the way they made the touring/DTM E30 semi-trailing arm "work", was set the static alignment to desired values and then use very high spring rates so it stays there. You know, any suspension geometry is good if you don't let it move.
I normally like watching your offerings but as I’m just about to start my dct conversion on my S15 you’ve kind of sunk my battle ship already 🤦🏼 And for gods sake go buy some pothole bags for your road cheap and simple fix
Why? It wasn't an M3, it was an M3 ex race car shell, rusting to bits, brought back to life as an M3 that can keep up with a GT3 RS. Not exactly a waste.
This comment doesn’t deserve acknowledgement, but I’ll reply nonetheless. The owner is the only entity of value. The car (all cars) are just assembled commodities for our pleasure, needs or desires. If the owner gets joy or usage from it… it is not wasted. In fact, this e30 has probably brought more joy than most others.
😦 omg if you pause it at 13:55 and zoom in and enhance you can see what the secret project they are working on is 😳 omg I would never had thought you would do one of them!🥸

Most of them just smile, some come out to watch. Most are just used to it.
I’d have thought most industrial estates in brum are used to it
Or it could be Craig scattering an engine around the estate
There is something so special about a sequential and NO PADDLES. It's just cool, harks back to so many awesome race series.
good to hear you quit the smokes, I am still struggling.

Hurrah!! DW vid, just finished listening to the podcast. Good stuff
Sounds proper, loving the chunter out of gear

We've considered it, but our industrial estate is a sh!thole unfortunately.
@@driftworks That’s a shame, time for some new big shiny premises then? 😉😉
@@driftworks could you and Craig chip in for a double premesis in a new unit?

Open day sounds good, maybe a different venue with plenty of space
Awesome, I've not had dinner yet, so this will be great to watch with tonight's Curry 👍
Now we need curry updates!
@@tdolan500 😂
@@tdolan500On the downside it was only a supermarket microwave effort. On the upside it was very nice with a Garlic naan bread 😋
@Phil, That is definitely the coolest tool ever made! That was a freakn breeze trim job.
Cheers 👍
Apart from real DTM E30 this is the most exciting E30 that I saw on TH-cam 👌
Thanks man! 🙏
Joe at ARM BMW & Motorsport runs the Drenth in his E30M3 rally car, albeit with a sweet S14/2.5. Miss my old E30 M3 so so much.

👍. Haha Seth Rogan is better than Santa eh Starkey! 😂
You will find sequential boxes don’t like shifting under heavy wheel spin it’s prob why you are finding it hard to shift between 1st-2nd
Yep, once I had grip it worked great. 👍
I'd love to see Phil sorting a house renovation. It would end up perfect. With multiple changes I'm assuming. Show us !!!!
glad to see it develop into a trouble-free enjoyable thing , hope you lower you’r track times
Merry Christmas, Phil.. Have a good one.
Looks like that cut out on the bonnet may be for a supercharger..... We'll see eh.. 😉
Oh man, i remembered putting 17" wheels and 40/ 205 on our mk2 ford escort.... have to slice the front and rear fenders, hehe...
Lord Phil Von Driftworks is back!!
Good choice in music as usual 👏🫡
Don't rest your hand on the shifter with a strain gauge sequential. Touch the shifter for SHIFTING ONLY.
Yes your back again
it always goes back to the 1988 Birmingham super prix E30 vs RS Cosworth 🤣
dream car for me... love it. nice D&B beats too... ;)
Thanks for great content as usual👍🥳
Cheers 👍
Gearbox sounds good, very 90's BTCC.
As you know...I love your car...and man..shop is looking great Phil.
Thanks 👍

Jay- to use a line from ( the first Lego movie) Morgan Freeman " Sure, sure... Go with that".
sounds amazing
it is perfect if i had the monay i will tune like this to awsome CAR !
A nice s54b32 engine for Jay would even the power levels and make a good video for us to watch
Out of my league to run and buy unfortunately. Even if I had the money I don’t think I could be bothered with the hassle of one.
@@JayDontGotThis instead you go through the hassle on phil his cars 😁
No worries Jay, you’ve enough on your plate without that hassle alright
cars so sick!

Guess it's safe to say I won't be calling Phil for a concourse restoration of my E30. Lol 🤣🤣
Hell no 😄
How’s it going fellas missing the updates but any is much appreciated 😉👍🏻👍🏻

I'm not going to. I drove the car yesterday and it does not struggle for grip, so I'm just going to improve it 👍
Supercharger and sequential. Badass.
It's NA, no supercharger. The whine is the gearbox and possibly a bit of diff.
@@Tex777_ the notch in the bonnet.
NA for life!
@@driftworks that bonnet notch had me guessing…!
Looking so neat under the bonnet 👌
When you first pulled it out of the shop, was the idle surge the car warming itself up? Is that a setting you have? Cool idea if so.
It had just got itself in a weird loop in the warmup map.
Awesome updates as always. V10....
Nice car 🚙
Thanks 🙏
Love the content cars featured and channel but let Jay talk a bit more before talking over him😉👍
Why don't you consider left foot braking? The steering column isn't an issue and that solves your heel & toe concern
I always left foot brake. You can't left foot brake and heel and toe when required though.
is there anything to stop you from banging into reverse in a freakout banging down the gears moment?
No, there would normally be a lever on the shifter to stop you doing that. but I ordered my gearbox for airshift which doesn't have the internal stop.
Is that a cup holder on the centre console?
Haha, i'm not sure what you're referring to, but no.
What heat shielding are you using?
On this we're using the Nimbus aluminium heat sheild.
Supercharger? 😍
NA for life. Forced induction hasa no place on this car.
Which track will you be at?
We were at Donington yesterday 👍
Sounds very EV like 😎
Who's is the disco 2 outside
One of our neighbours.
80l tank?! why so big?
I don't want to worry about refueling all the time. It's annoying.

" Bwackets".
Why did jp not go through this car? He build an e30 m4 himself
Not sure why, but it wasn't of interest.
@@driftworks i noticed it and expected a 3rd episode, but it never came🤣
Sequential trans don’t really like wheel spin from what I’ve seen on other TH-camrs with sequentials lol
Yeah, wheelspin is the enemy.
Need wheel specs!
I cut the standard M3 arches off and made my own wider carbon versions, so wheel specs wouldn't cross over to another M3 unfortunately.

Sorry about that. We've invested thousands in the road. It's just F'd unfortunately and there's a lot of HGV traffic.
@@driftworks don’t worry I’m sarcastic!! have you seen closed loop monitoring is out now from HTG ? Really hope I haven’t pissed my money up the wall
I have, I hope it makes life easier for people running it.

Have a look at the title.
Expensive!

Say that like an e30 m3 is any good. The correct engine for an e30 is a 6cyl.
