Omgosh dealer wanted to charge a fortune for this but I almost understand why. My filter, in my 2019. Mazada Mazda 3 that has only 13826 miles, looks like a cross between a dirty vacuum cleaner bag, a plant nursery, and a Petri dish. Wtfrock. Thank you sooooooo much!!!

I can’t believe it’s so hard to find a decent cabin air filter for this car. Autozone doesn’t have em and Amazon is showing models that dont really work in fitnent like wtf
Buy the part from Mazda instead?
I bought one from Oreileys, and they swore it was the part but nope, it didn’t fit.
Where can you buy the replacement filter
Can you recommend filter brands that would fit if I don’t use Mazda’s part
There are many different aftermarket brands for filters. I don't have a preference on brand but I would recommend using a carbon or charcoal activated filter as they do a better job of removing odors.
I have a 2020 Mazda 3 that seems to be making some clicking noises when I turn on the AC - would this have anything to do with the cabin filter?
typically not - sometimes a leaf or debris can get past the filter and into the blower and make some noise but it probably I don't know if that would come across as clicking sound
I bought a washable cabin filter from K&N, and its suppose to be the match for my MAZDA 3 2020,
but it leaves a gap and doesnt seal like the original filter, should I still use it?
VF2074 K&N CABIN AIR FILTER
If you don’t think it’s sealing properly, I personally probably would not use it
I was told by the dealership I go to that cabin filters in general are NOT washable by the user, and just need to be replaced yearly or so. If it doesn't seat
properly I would be wary of any aftermarket filter, I just had some AC system issues and that was one thing that may have been caused by a dirty filter,
and/or a 3rd party one that doesn't seal or fit right, could also cause air flow and other issues, potentially. I would just buy a good aftermarket proper
filter for your model, and just install that. They are cheap.
What if I just vacuum the filter would that be a good idea?
I pinch mine (2019 3 hatchback) and nothing happens.
Whats the size. Can't find any info on what model to buy from 3rd parties for this car.
There isn't is really a "size" and each brand of filter tends to use its own part number - cabin filters are typically just sold by year, make and model of vehicle.
How often do you recommend changing or cleaning the cabin air filter?
it is generally recommended to change filters every 15kmiles or once a year but I usually just go off of how they look
@@PYR-Auto Thank you. Filter removed, cleaned, and reinstalled. Very easy job.
Where can you buy a cabin air filter for gen 4?
I usually end up buying mine at my local auto parts stores but they can also be found many places online such as Amazon
There’s a website called MazdaSwag that has them in stock
Where would you recommend I purchase one? I got quoted at Mazda for $100 for this haha
Depending on how large of an area you live in - most major auto parts stores should have these in stock. Otherwise they can be found several places online
I bought mine from rock auto!
They’re currently in stock at MazdaSwag
comparing this to my old 2013 altima, this seems like someone with more than 2 braincells designed it. Thanks for the video. I was expecting to have to take apart half the dash
Easy, peasy, except for all of the paper maps that are kept in there as backup.
I can’t find a replacement anywhere. Can you help me?
If you google "Mazda 3 cabin air filter" it will bring up lots of available replacements. You an also search that term on Amazon. Depending on how large of an area you live in - most larger auto parts stores will carry them as well.
Amazon seems to offer countless options.
Everything I'm seeing is for 2015-2028, part fd811. Do you have the part number for the Gen 4?

No fuss details :)
So much easier than a Ford
yeah, this one is pretty easy
shit and I paid to get a new one
And the dealership wanted 100$ bucks for this. Fu you dealer doing it myself lmao
Yea the dealership wanted like 70
That's nice, I'm just so glad that I just had to pay Mazda $80 at the dealership to replace a gunked up one, and the car is only a year old or so. Ridiculous. I'm ordering two of these
later this week and keeping them in the trunk for next year. Really fing pisses me off.
Thank you!
