OMG!!! For probably 20 years or more I've run into this problem periodically and could never figure it out. Even on multiple grills I thought it was some malfunction, like a valve issue, or low fuel. I've topped off nearly full tanks without knowing I was simply cranking the valve open too quickly. Thanks a million. A lesson I'll never forget.

What the heck did we do before the internet? I would have never figured this out. I was just searching on why my grill wouldn't go over 250, this was the perfect solution!

Definitely works, but has to be done every time we grill now. Pretty annoying when you're wanting to just get started. However, we're glad it's working!

Wouldn't the regulator be automatically reset when we replace propane tank? Just curious why it wouldn't be fixed unknowingly when you refill/replace tank

Thank you! I never would of figured that out on my own! I actually took my tank back in for a refill thinking all of a sudden I had gone low on propane. What I don't understand is when I reconnected the freshly topped off tank, I still had the same issue. So I went online to figure out why I had itty-bitty useless flames. Found this video and followed the instructions. For some reason it totally worked and now I'm cooking with fire!
