Honestly I have one, M sport 340I and I had an Sl550 2006 before and the SL was faster stock, like much faster stock, but I’m here looking for good builds for 340’s, so I can track spec mine :)

I'm not a BMW guy but are the b58s in these the same motor as the supra? Or are there multiple b58s with like mechanical differences ? I've done intakes and midpipes for my friends with the 340 and they are fun cars!

More people are finding out what’s in these cars so people are buying them now. I was just looking for some a month ago and now all of them are gone. I wasn’t expecting people to buy them that quick cuz I thought they were still stuck on 335i’s, the supra, and the M cars.

Goon I’m trying man. I’ve been looking at n54 335i’s if I can’t find any 340i’s with the M sport package but I really don’t wanna chance dealing with the problems it comes with even tho I can work on the car myself. It’s just why buy a 335 when you can get a 340 with a more reliable engine and probably puts out more power. The 340 just makes more sense.

That 340i is a certified savage and the B58 is going to go down in BMW history as one of the best modern day engines if all time. I hope to be able to afford one someday but I do love my 09 e90 6spd manual with the sport package and that car is fast for being only a 328i without the 3 stage manifold. Awesome video and l love those Msport rims

I flashed stock E30 tune top speed disabled, waited on the entrance ramp for a clear freeway and pegged160+ easily probably 170-175 and a big chunk of it was done on a pretty good incline. And with time to slow back down to the speed limit before coming up to any other cars.

Got myself a 440i with mppsk, knocking about 360hp few bolt ons and a remap to come. Should be in the low 420s hopefully.

I have a 440i with the MSport package, spec’d the same way. I honestly don’t know how much more I can love this thing. A high flow catted down pipe might be the only power mode I consider doing to it. The car feels just so dialed in from the factory. Especially with the MPPSK option.

Amazing cars and engine, just hope there is always a decent price gap between that and an f80 M3, although I like the sound of the b58 more and its most likely more reliable, ie cranhub issue in the f80, you'd rather get the full blown M3 for everything else that's upgraded in it, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a well priced 340i

I loved my 335 because it felt lower to the ground and the actual seats inside the car felt lower without lowering it.
This new 340i I love it don’t get me wrong; but it feels like the rear end is too high and when I sit in my drivers seat it doesn’t sit low.
It’s also bigger than the last series and I wish they would stop fucking doing that.
I miss the compactness. My next car is the m series it’s much more compact and fun tk drive

Picked up my 16 340 xdrive msport manual in estoril blue a few months ago an i absolutely love it. Only wish i had the track package with the blue caliper brakes...if anyone know where i can find those please let me know but yea i love my car😍😍😍

What performance mods and is it xdrive?
The B58 in the older 40i’s is the same as the one in the new M40i’s + Supra but this new variant has shown in online parts catalogs to have, cooling system, head, timing chain, oil pump upgrades. As well as different turbo part numbers, AND fuel injectors that are upgraded from 3,625 psi to 5,075 psi.
But if the first B58’s are bulletproof, imagine the new 2019/2020 B58’s 🤔😱

Lol I’ve been trying to explain it to people who still believe all BMWs are unreliable when I tell them I want a 340. I’m like yall haven’t even done research on the cars or anything, they just go by what they hear about BMWs not treating people well or if they see them on the side of the road. I was literally explaining to my mother this morning that people just buy a BMW and expect to be paying for maintenance and parts like it’s a Honda and it’s not lmao you have to pay to play. It’s a performance/luxury car vs a economy box. I’m just driving my v6 6 speed accord until I finish college then I’m going to find a 340. I actually can afford to buy one now buuuut I still just wanna wait until I’m done with school to go all out.

NihilistSolitude Yea in OUR eyes it’s not that bad but you know some people just expected to save up and buy a BMW and think it’s gonna cost as little as a Honda or Toyota to maintain it then just don’t pay to fix the car. Now there are some jobs on Hondas and Toyotas that are pricey but generally they’re not going to be as much as a BMW IF you don’t do your own work.

My 2015 335i allegedly has 320 with the MPPSK from what I've found. The display in car reads within 345-350 hp and tq. Definitely likely the same scenario (not numbers though) with this from factory.

I've got a tuned 340 and I've seen single digits when using its potential. But it will still do mid 40's when cruising.

The Supra has the TU (technical update) version of the B58, which is in the new 2020 M340i
The original b58b30m0 on the 340i and the supra are almost identical 2 main difference and that's the new supra only has 2 exhaust ports supplying 3 cylinder each and a better fuel pump other then that is almost identical and no the supra b50b30m0 is not the same as the b58b30m1 on the new M340i
@@jonathanruiz3091 The M340i (in the US) uses the B58M30(O1) and the Supra uses the B58M30(C), and they are both part of the technical update and have the upgraded fuel pumps and timing chains moved to the front. the exhaust manifolds and turbos were designed separately.
I have the 2019 440xi M sport Gran Coupe. Not with MPPSK. I feel my car pulls much harder then 340s and even the new M340s.. but havent gotten a pull in against the new Supra yet.
discount auto that’s either the xdrive giving you better grip on launch or it’s just in your head bro lol! Your base B58 has 320hp; the M240 has 335hp and the MPPSK gives the engine 355hp along with the X3 M40i. The TU version in the new M340i is almost 390hp and is much, much faster than the base b58 in the 340/440i.
Buy ☝️! You wont regret it. BM3 stg2 coupled with XHP stg3 tcu flash will get you flying past the newer C63s. Less than $2k in upgrades.
Just get BMW MPPSK and stop it with the downpipe and jb4...

Tell him he doesn’t need meth, if he wants to make more power he needs a HPFP high pressure fuel pump! spool performance, and xtreme are coming out with a high pressure fuel pump this month! And you’ll be able to run E60 and easily hit 500 wheel

Got the same car with the same color and this paint is super soft. Scratches when a leaf falls on the car I swear. Ceramic coating is a must.

My c7 z06 will destroy both. But its all about what you as the owner of whatever car u have to make of it and what you ultimately enjoy. Not about the cost. The cost doesnt just make something better than someone elses or mean that they cant afford it. Hell an optioned 340i is pushing 60-70k brandnew. Its about needs wants and goals. U can make a fucking geo metro fast or how about this a 1st gen dsm modded will eat you but you probably dont know what a dsm or 4g63 is.
And every m3 owner loves the cost of ownership. All well and good buying an m car but running one is a different ball game to a 340

Here’s something to consider though. The s55 in the F8x M3/4 is not a strong motor. People are spinning the crank hub bone stock with no modifications. That’s a 10 grand repair of this happens to you, and it’s happening to them fairly frequently now. Slap a few mods and extra HP, and that longevity is even shorter. I’m an M-specialist for a BMW dealership and this is happening frequently. If you’re looking to tune, get the B58. If you’re looking for an awesome out of the box driving experience, get the true M model.
