boring tbh
You guys did well on this one. That thing is beautiful.
Sure! It is simply magnificent. Masterpiece🔥
Congrats on an amazing production & build,
Thanks for keeping us entertained Legends 😆
I love it. Even the paint is beautiful
I love how you two build “real” cars. They are realistic and obtainable. They don’t make stupid amounts of horsepower or have a bunch of silly gimmicks plastered all over them (unless it is meant to be satire). And you actually drive the cars. I love how this channel has survived and matured over the years. ❤
Yeah but Xzibit could Pimp ‘that’ Ride
I love how you guys capture the Aussie spirit and take the piss as much as you can, treat your mates like gold and still stay humble "just two dudes hanging out in a shed".
I have been to Wish Bone and very much enjoyed the night with my family "sadly we missed you" but hearing the way your staff spoke about you both confirmed to me that you are just top shelf blokes "yes I learned a secret or two" but I also know somethings are best kept secret and it gave me insight as to what keeps you grounded and that I can strongly relate to!
Apart from the Cresta, that was mad.
@@someyoungguy6990 I was at Wishbone opening night. Was lots of fun and the boys were so cool. Great chicken.
I couldn't have said it any better. I love and appreciate MCM so much for what they've done and continue to do for the car community.
What a legend. And Marty speech at the end, his bond with the brand and being able to do this project is just amazing.
Subaru isnt a car brand, its a way of life I swear to god 😂
@@tuckervfxI concur, from the driving seat of my 2020 Forester. My first Subaru. Certainly not my last one
agreed. I was not expecting that. Marty is truly one of my favorite automotive legends.
gotta have 2 for when the other one is waiting on an engine swap :p
@@fd4639
@@fd4639Drive one from the early 2000s and it’s a whole other world. Preferably a turbo model with manual.
“Not a mechanic, but did the best he could with what he had”. That’s the statement by which so many of us in this community live by and what brings us together. It is the genuineness of mighty car mods which has allowed it to stand the test of TH-cam time. Great job guys.
marty has matured so much over the years, proud of the man i see on these vids.
his poor hair line reflects that
Poor? What’s wrong with a receding hairline? Are you a bot
@@djesm1t sadly it’s an affliction some of share with him.
I hope its just me, but moog doesn't seam himself in this series.... I hope he's ok
@@D4VE26 Maybe just overcome with emotion?
Wasn't sure about the paint choice but seeing it on that trail looked amazing! Fantastic work all!
Yeah, not going to lie when I first saw the paint it really wasn't my cup of tea, but seeing the car fully assembled, I have to admit the colour is perfect
I think the colour looks great in sunlight, but not that nice when it's parked indoors. A good reason to drive this car as often as you can!
@@generalguilmon6719 Yeah the shop lights really flatten the color out, the sunlight brings out that gold!!
I was amazed, the color totally transformed the car. In white it's a utility/work truck, in the green it is modern and sleek.
Loved this series. The Subaru line up was a great touch. Hats off to you and your mates for taking on a project like this. 🎉
YES but where was the bugeye! ;p
@@kirbygreen420just noticed there wasn’t one, Atleast there was a blobeye
@kirbygreen420 - forget about the bugeye! Where was the RS turbo that started the whole EJ20 turbo line up and still holds the record for 100,000km in the shortest amount of time for a petrol engine from what I understand. All three vehicles completed the distance.
They didn’t have the vortex or any other MY model vehicles such as the wagon or coupe.
There are bound to be models missing that ppl are passionate about, it’s just what was available/accessible on the day I reckon.
@@kirbygreen420 In the bin
@@ElFreddoAndRubyScoo It looked like the Subaru Australia fleet. There's no way they can afford to have every iconic model - the 22B alone is like £200k now!
I'm not convinced the Brumby fans would be worried about going AWD. I reckon theyd be chuffed with the care and attention this awesome car has received.
This is so sick! You guys are an actual inspiration
Thanks Jimbo, we appreciate your kind words
If they inspired you i wanna see a video in 6 months building any car
Actually becoming awe inspiring guys. You are both able to get the emotions running without any sappy nonsense. Love the build, soundtrack and cinematography as always! Thanks for helping the industry in so many ways.
@@keedoopop4900All the OP said is you guys are an inspiration he didn't specifically say to him so calm down there mate. I agree with him they have most definitely been an inspiration to many!
@@StillShatter im calm just saying if he looks up to them and wants to do what they do all it takes is motivation. Working on cars aint hard just gotta start. Im not saying dont be inspired by them
I saw the Brumby today on a trailer being towed down fairford road in Bankstown at about 1:30. The paint looks great in the sun. I really was 50/50 on it until I saw it in person.
I so wish I lived in AU so I could potentially win this awesome Brumby. I love seeing life breathed into old cars, and the camaraderie of seeing all your friends banding together to make it happen warms my tired old soul.
It's absolutely gorgeous! The sticker kit finished it off really nicely that was a good choice
Thanks Jasmine, that was our work, Subaru and Marty requested the colour scheme, and Boxer Beauty made and installed it!
Loved seeing that SVX. It will forever be a top favorite in the cars I've owned.
My first car was a 92 brumby, i rebuilt it with my father and loved it to bits. Unfortunately it was written off while parked overnight and i've never really gotten over that loss. I'll be buying multiple tickets for the chance of winning this beauty!
I have no doubt this would have been the most careful offroading ever caught on camera
I was 16 years old, and I drove a Brumby around my Dads Uncles wheat farm/sheep farm in 86', was the best driving experience I ever had !! Loved this series, well done MCM,...again !!
Absolutely stunning work, and what a journey. We're so grateful and lucky to have gone on this ride with you gents! Thanks!
Love it boys, modern cars will never come close to 80-90s styling😍
These guys are just so pure, genuinely love cars, genuinely best mates, all they're videos just make me feel so relaxed, never stop what your doing guys
Dudes the Brumby looks fantastic, worthy of any shows or museums, honestly, everything you done has improved the car no end, absolutely
The end to this series was way more emotional than I expected. I'm not crying, you're crying. Excellent work, I hope it goes to a very good home.
My dad’s first Subaru was a BRAT (I’m in the USA), and he basically only ever bought Subarus after that (and minivans, to fit the whole family of six for longer trips - for shorter trips I’d just lay down in the back of the station wagon).
I loved seeing that intro. So many incredible pieces of history. I grew up with computers, not posters, and many of those cars were the wallpaper of my computer growing up.
My brother still drives our grandpa’s Brat, and we have another we’d like to restore for me to drive as well. So many memories in those cars.
What a great series. I feel like this was also a wonderful way MCM is able to bring everything they learned and the people they met into one series. This project really makes me further appreciate MCM and car culture in general.
Im sorry I creased at the waterfall bit 😂
Look at that! It's incredible...
*camera cuts to garden stream*
😂😂😂 Love you Aus.
My hat off to you and all the people who put this Brumby back on the road where it belongs. Legendary effort 🎉
The music the words and the friendship in this video is epic. Will never be bored watching MCM well done guys.
Not sure what the collective noun for a couple of legends is, but it’s fair to say, Marty and Moog are certainly that! Bravo chaps, thanks for sharing the journey with us! Good luck to all the people who enter the comp to win the Mcm Brumby.
The EJ20 Forester is surely one of the unsung heroes of Australian motoring. It makes sense that it’s engine and driveline underpin this rebuild of the legendary Brumby. My first Subaru was a manual 1998 Forester bought in 2012. I was the third owner and it had travelled 210,000km at that point. Apart from needing a new clutch the interior was spotless and the body straight and everything was original. I bought it as a second car mainly to drive to and from the train station. However it quickly became the family work horse and spare car towing a trailer to and from Canberra, moving furniture, towing a boat, working on construction sites and as a daily driver commuting across Sydney. For 2 years it was the third car in my driveway because I just didn’t want to sell it. After 9 years and 120,000k the Forester moved on to another owner. It was a ridiculously good and reliable car and a simple car to work on. After that Subaru experience I bought an XV, then another Forester and then another Forester for my daughter. I’ll have to buy a ticket in that Brumby!
I have to say, after following the whole build & Marty's end speech about growing up with, learning to drive in & owning many other Subarus... Plus after 6 months of hard work of restoration, fabrication & customization & then handing away the keys...
You brought me to tears, seriously. You guys are the best, well done mates! The new owner will surely enjoy it.
I'm from Maine, USA, I fell in love with the older Subarus back in 1993 when I had a 1984 GL wagon. What an amazing car. I'd always salivated for the Brats though and I'd rather have the car you guys made than anything else out there. Great job, that looks so amazing!
That look on Marty's face in the final scene is pure joy. Incredible jobs fellas. Great series, and awesome car.
Marty's speech had me nearly cutting onions. awesome job guys. ❤
You have come so far as a team and I think this justifies your existence as car guys big respect for what you have achieved over the years and probably the ultimate justification from a company like Subaru.
Raffle ticket bought. I know I'm almost certainly not going to be the winner, but I can hope just a little bit.
I love how you guys personify cars. It speaks volumes to your passion and genuine love of what you do. 👌🏽
Subaru, take note - might be time to revive the Brumby line. Australia has no more utes like this anymore. There is a market for them. Well done boys, great job restoring this.
I am BLOWN away 😮 and now quite well acquainted with what is now on my list of dream cars, thank you, boys! ❤
Marty is a bloody legend, and what makes MCM the "Best Four wheel drive/AWD/Honda/Subaru/Rotary channel" on TH-cam. You nailed it mate, you are the man.
This project really turned out amazing, great work MCM! Makes me wish I lived in Australia, so I could enter the raffle. You can hear just how attached to the Brumby Martin is, I'm sure he is going to miss it dearly.
The best channel on TH-cam! If they didn't have channels like this, TH-cam wouldn't exist.
I would buy a beautifully restored car like this over a new car any day.
By far best project yet. Been watching for years always been a fan. But honestly lads smashed it out with this build. Sums up MCM, Sums up Subaru! Marty stop doubting yourself 100% a mechanic you've spent enough time working for this you deserve the title to go with it!
Wish the episodes were longer

Since the how to mod your car vid from 15 years ago to the how to’s to the original super gramps, to the beetle, mini, the roadkill special, super gramps 2, key to the temple to all the amazing trips and builds the team have done until now you two have been a major inspiration to me I’ve followed your journey since I was in school and now that I’ve two cars of my own I plan to do some serious work and it’s people like you that have thought me anything is possible with enough determination, up’s & down’s success and defeats and that blood sweat and tears is actually worth it in the end I’ve started two projects of my own knowing now they’re seen as scrap or just a car and also knowing one day they’ll be rare that even rough can still be good. Much love and appreciation for what you guy’s do. Keep it up!!
Thank you to Subaru Australia for having the faith in Marty and Moog to deliver what is a stunning restoration of an iconic car for Subaru. The people and companies that helped along the way thank you for being available with your skills and abilities.
Being an old fart and seeing these cars in the wild when they were new you guys have done yourselves ,Subaru and the Brumby name justice in this restomod . This looks better than any Brumby I have ever seen. Great job guys and cant wait to see your next project
@mightycarmods thanks for taking us on this journey, it's been captivating. everything you've done to the Brumby has enhanced it to a modern day Brumby. If only @SubaruAustralia managed to get this format of their awesome vehicles back into production this would have to be the design inspiration! Thanks Marty, Moog, Subaru Australia, and everyone involved!
Your effort for the introduction alone... Wow, I loved to watch this.
This was borderline an episode for the worlds best dam 4wd show.
The colour by itself was awesome. Splendid job folks! Another old car restoration project, please.
From hamden, ct. Fantastic restoration. 70 retired lineman. Own a 2006 Subaru sti and 98 Honda prelude
You can really tell how personal this journey has been. Road safety is an invaluable cause to me as a motorcyclist, bicyclist, and driver … while that cause is universally important for any person with loved ones on the road, Subarus are uniquely cherished as safe everyday practical vehicles that are fun to take into the wilderness for decades. I think the idea of not throwing something away once it’s had a certain number of miles is also valued; as at least in the United States a higher portion of Subaru vehicles remain in the road than others after ten, twenty, thirty years’ time. This build was really special not just because of what it represents and means to Marty, but because it shows really earnestly what makes a Subaru a Subaru.
The toppest of notches of entertainment on the interballs.
What a beautiful series, not only seeing this Brumby resurrected for another lifetime of enjoyment, but the sentimental backstory that makes it all worthwhile. It’s never “just a car”, and massive respect to Subaru Australia for being involved and engaging with their history in such a way.
First I was shopping STI’s, then wagons now BRAT’s (US Brumby). Doesn’t matter what you like or drive, just enjoy it! Great job, wish I lived there so I could be eligible to win. Having you share this and other journeys on this platform is still a big win! Thank you.
Having friends is one of the greatest values in life. This project is living proof. Hope whoever wins it appreciates the concept.
My very first car, bought it second hand in 1992. Rock solid and if anything went wrong high chance it was a CV joint. Thanks for bringing back some very good memories.
I love that this is more of the restoration than modification of a restomod. You guys have a built a humble yet nimble Brumby/BRAT, a car I never was a fan of until now. Cheers guys!
That's crazy to think that these 2 started in a driveway pissing on a Golf and now doing projects for Subaru Australia. Godspeed guys! Best of luck from Poland!
a bit late to the show, but having followed you guys for a couple of years, I am awestruck by your dedication and love of cars. Never losing your souls to today's gimmicks and quick commerce. I salute you gentlemen! The interballs are honored by your presence. And sick subie sounds :D
I love the care that went into the build. Those decals... **chef's kiss**
6 months! I’d like to take this moment to appreciate how much goes behind the scenes for you to be able to bring us content regularily. So much has to be planned, executed, shot and edited! So mamy different projects at the same time. Its amazing. Thank you.
Also, this resto looks sick. Great job!
Imagine, it all started on Mom's Driveway. Amazing Job Gents👍
I worked as a factory maintenance engineer at the Subaru factory in New Zealand in the 80’s and the Brumby was my favourite vehicle build.
This has been a great series and a wonderful result. The way you've given us a view into so many background people like the driveshaft and axle builders, as well as pulling in people from all over Australia to help, has made the videos. Many years ago I bought a used Outback. My mechanic said 'Is this your first Subaru?' I told him it was. 'It won't be your last' he said. A few years later I was rear-ended in traffic and the Outback was written off. Within a week I had another. The Brumby gets a lot of love, like Australia's favorite Teddy Bear.
I just bought a brand new 2023 GTI because of MCM. Thanks guys for all the years of good times and love of cars.
Looks so rad in that green, good choice!! That car would have taken me a year and 60+ videos to finish haha 😂
Love your videos Sarah, maybe one day we'll see MCM/Sarah joint project
The raffle was obviously a slow process because I've only just gotten an email from Subaru about it this afternoon. I was probably only about two minutes into the video when I decided that I'd grab a ticket. Like any raffle, the odds are against me, but I can really see the Brumby competing with the Forester for my attention. Top work, guys!!
I love how the old generations of subies are so modular! that's sick!
Great build series Guys and for a good cause! Thanks for letting me go al ong.
It looks amazing, give yourselves some credit. You guys meticulously orchestrated each part and the decisions you made all makes perfect sense together.
The friendship and respect you bloke's display for each other is just as inspiring as your car building skills.
Great video, thank you.
The story telling and emotion you bring out of cars is just awesome.
2 years ago, i went around NSW looking at Brumbies to rebuild. Never found one that reached out to me, instead bought a Honda CRX. but this Brumby looks amazing, something i would of liked to do myself. Well done!
As an American, I'd never heard of a Brumby until now and, just like with so many cars that MCM have built, I've fallen in love with it. I can see why people are passionate about them and I wish that car manufacturers could bring their full line ups of cars to all parts of the world, not just specific areas. I know it's not really possible or profitable but my car-loving heart wants it! lol
While they were driving around on the trail looking for goats to put in the back of the car, what they didn't realize was that the real goats were already sitting inside of it.
Watching your channel grow all these years makes me feel proud.
You guys have previously done builds on my top 2 favourite cars of all time, and now you've done another one, I'm so inlove with this little Brumby, I look forward to buying many a raffle ticket in support of ARSF and of course the dream of owning one of my dream cars, you guys did an outstanding job, thank you.
All of those Subarus at the beginning! Love it.
My grandad used to have a silver 1991 Legacy/liberty estate and the memory of that car is such a good one.
Well done boys beautiful!
I loved watching that Brumby come back to life. Well done.
Way to go dudes I was born in Oregon my mom's friend came back from Hawaii and Bandon Oregon had the first Subaru lot what a classic you two have brought back to life
This is why I like MCM. YT is full of car channels that are only about unreliable 1000hp hype builds nowadays. But MCM stands out because they build reasonable cars that you can actually drive on a daily basis and watchers can take inspiration from this and actually build these cars too.
Love this series and this car very much!!
The world's best 4x4 TH-cam channel at it again 🎉
Guys, I've been watching your videos for years and enjoyed every single one. Please don't ever stop making them....or else 😂
Absolutely loved this series! Hats off to you both and everyone who supported the rebuild project. Hoping I will win the raffle but happy to pitch in for a good cause regardless... ❤
I am a bit older and a military man, so the color is amazing and I have always wanted one, I wish I could enter but here in the states, it's no go, GREAT WORK!
Best video intro duction ever, walking through all that history! Well done for a couple guys that live on the "upside down" hemisphere of the planet!
You guys and all your friends must be so proud of yourselves! Always learning, always growing and producing incredibly quality content which is cherished by us but also will be cherished by generations to come who will have the same love of cars as no doubt we do!
This channel just keeps getting better. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished with this build for a great cause.
oh man i melted this whole episode you guys and the team/friends and new friends are absolutely amazing
10/10 for the brumby and the whole series, I can appreciate the stuff we didn't get to see that it takes to actually get a vehicle from what it was to what you've achieved, bloody magic little truck, 👌👌👌👌
Marty says "It's not a show car", I think it is actually something better than that. A beautifully restored and useable vehicle. Something you can take down the trails or wherever without worrying about it too much. Things you wouldn't do with a show car that is going to sit somewhere parked up for long periods of time.
Every time I see one of these over here in the states makes me smile so cool looking like nothing else!
Man, brings a tear to my eye, seeing a classic gen Subie get such love on this channel. These older models deserve recognition, they built the foundations!
Excellent work on the build, you did in 6 months what took me nearly 10 years 😅
Whoever gets it is going to be a very lucky person.
Well done guys. Fantastic project to be a part of and could feel some of the emotion that you would have been feeling after finishing the car and handing it over.
Probably the best build you guys made so far. Not the fanciest car, but the one with the biggest history for sure. Looking forward next inspiring project.
Honestly you guys a the most wholesome people who are part of the Aussie car community and after a rough day that I have had today, literally lads you made a bad day in the morning turn into a great afternoon and relax and know there are awesome people out there in the world.
Well done gents! The project looks like more Subaru resurrections for a great cause are headed our way. Cool!
What series this was.... Damn.... Dad had the estate one ages ago, I was too little to drive it my self, but have memories of it being different from any other car he and I had ever since.
Thank You! And hello from Latvia!
