Ritz-Carlton has gotten 7 of my relatives into PP lounges. The RC Maui this December was $1,760. Instead, I used my annual cert. My wife will get her own RC next year.
Im getting rid of my amex platinum this year. My annual fee usually post in January. I was fine trying to maximize the credits given, however the last 3 times i have tried to acess the centurion lounge it has been way too packed and i dont even get in. To me it is useless now. I will probably go for the Venture X later on in 2024.
Makes sense! AMEX has done a pretty bad job of delivering a lounge experience to all the card holders they’ve promised it to recently. A lot of people think they need to get rid of card holders/guests but I think AMEX should focus on expanding the number and size of lounges. People are clearly lining up for their lounge experience, so I think they need to accommodate growing numbers if they’re going to make that promise. The Venture X is my airport lounge card and I’ve never had issues getting in thankfully.
Love the video here Ethan! I personally am actually planning to finally add the Amex Plat this year since I do have a Centurion Lounge at my home airport in Seattle and so can easily get hundreds of $ in value, by using that lounge every single time I travel. Definitely could see how a lot of people love the CSR for lounge access as well, especially if they have a Sapphire Lounge at their home airport.
Dude! That will be awesome Matt. You’ll have a lot of lounge access options! And if you can use those credits to offset the annual fee, why not go for the card. Did you consider the Venture X at all by the way? Just curious. Not sure if you have it already or not.
@@EthanPatrick_CreditCards I have definitely considered the Venture X, and I think my wife may add it as part of our 2 Player Setup sometime this year.
I wish there was one super-duper cc that would give access to everything, including all airline, cc lounges and top status for everything (airlines, hotels, rental car). I’d pay top dollar for it if it included everything. I already have the Amex platinum and it’s okay but would like something much better…
You would think that would be the AMEX Centurion card with how exclusive/expensive it is…. But from what I’ve heard it’s really just a bit better than the platinum. That would be a great card!
No mention of Chase United Club Lounge Card at $525 🤔earn 80,00 miles , $75 Hilton Cert, $100 Global entry, free door dash, 2 bags for you and guests, no black out dates, no reservations, unlimited lounge access at United Club and international teams. Most common card I know people have but not mentioned here. Why not covered??? I do agree with your Marriot Bonvoy review. This card would be my first pick especially for a newer flyer as those 80,000 United miles are priceless and effortless to utilize through app even for same day travel.
It’s a good card and if this was a longer video I would have included it! I tried to keep it to the very best of the best, and since It has less than half the lounge footprint than these other cards and access is limited to one airline/alliance it’s not quite as flexible. But the bonus and perks are really valuable and it’s a great card if you’re a United/star alliance flyer, which is a lot of people!
I just got the venture x, but won’t have the card in hand in time for next trip. I’m in Taiwan at the moment, but have trips to Okinawa, Thailand, Italy etc planned for my family.

That’s awesome! That seems like the best possible use of the card. Sounds like it’s worth the one year product change wait!
Can’t wait to get my Ritz-Carlton card in just 5 more months! Worth the wait and no signup bonus.
Absolutely! What great patience you have haha

Haha love it. That’s what we did and honestly it’s been a great card. It’s very easy to manage and get more value than the annual fee.
@@EthanPatrick_CreditCards Absolutely! Yeah one of the most simple & straightforward travel cards to get Value > Fee
FYI, the travel credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve doesn't cover gas
Thanks for that correction!

At 3:30- You said global entry but it showed global dining… is global entry also included?
Yes it is. The card covers the fee for global entry.
What are the ages of kids that need lounge access? 3 and up count?
It really depends on the individual lounge as they all have their own policy, but in general 3 and up count as guests.

Congrats on getting approved! Sounds like a fun trip, how is Taiwan? I’ve been very interested in visiting!
