Stayed there a few times, the best camp is the first one (upper) that you went into. If it rains heavily, it stays dry(ish), just a short walk down to the long drop dunny. Plus, you are virtually guaranteed to have the site to yourself if your are first in. The next best camp is the last one you went into on the other side of the creek, it is best if you can get the inner most area where it is fairly flat. Camping next to the ablution block is best avoided, you won't believe the number of vehicles stopping for a quick visit to spend a penny, and if it's dry, raising dust.
@@thewanderingnewbie1 I have seen the water higher, but it usually doesn't stay very high, at least from our experience. We were camped there when a nearby downpour happened, I would suggest somewhere around 400/500mm depth for a brief time, then it lessened almost as quick as it appeared. Maybe 15 minutes from start to finish type of thing. But it was very fast flowing in that short time. Only camped there about 5 times in the last few years, so a bit hard to know long term water levels.

Great info. I thought the one just across the creek was nice, can camp with your vehicle etc. Have you seen the creek higher? Seemed really low.

I reckon it might be flowing a lot more now after recent rains.
It smashed it down on me on the Monash today. There’s been a fair bit of rain these last few days!
I love it out there. Did you get a pan wet while you were there? Cheers newbie 👍
No I did not but I’ve been doing a bit of research on it so I plan to go back and give it a go.
