I haven't noticed any changes in the tools either, but they have slightly changed the scales (there is a flat area around the rivets now, probably to avoid flaws in the anodizing during assebmly), and they switched the middle rivet back to steel (probably to make it stronger for the 3-4 models).
If you looking on the back side of the older version, you will see, that there is no middle layer like on the new one. That´s the reason that it is bigger.

Hi Dan - question for you: I've got an old Swiss Army knife from the early/mid 70s which was a Camping model but with a serrated main blade and a hooked second (smaller) blade. I've never seen another one like it, and wondered if you had any info on it?
Happy Friday Dan, Congratulations on your marriage. Although I bought a Thunder Grey 2022 LE Pioneer X for my collection, I do not consider it a nice color. I consider it to be Dishwater / Dirty Puddle Grey. I have a fair number of Pioneer X's in my collection & for EDC use, the LE 2022 one is aesthetically unattractive. In 2021 they made the gorgeous Tiger Orange model & this year the likewise very attractive 2023 Electric Yellow and I have bought 2 of each, one for my Limited Edition collection & one for my EDC rotation of 4 Pioneer X's (one red, one blue, one orange & one yellow).
