You are so lucky that you were there to hear the roof sing again with rain. Some of my favorite memories of my grandparents old farm house. And the bird singing at the end. Dang what a great video.
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 You have no idea how much I appreciate your videos and simplicity. I feel like I myself am finding the places, quietly savoring the sights, sounds and smells even. What a beautiful old home. The old girl is holding up pretty well. After a rewire and new roof and plumbing, it could be restored. Wish I was the one to do it. If its done, I hope they do not modernize it. Keep it true to its history. Thanks for sharing it with us. Love from S.C
What a nice old house. I wish someone would take the time to try and save it. I like how appreciative you are at all the fine details like the doors and transom windows and the porches.
Lovely old bones this home has...you always find the gems, and always show all the details others miight skip, and document all that there is to be seen...then generously share them with all of us history loving, architecture buffs, and abandoned place lovers. Thanks for taking us all along for the ride, stay safe and say hi to ruby!
The first thing I noticed was the ornate trim in the gables. I think this is the most intricate I've seen on your channel, especially wince it has those spool-turned spindles. The stair railings and newel post remain beautiful; among the best I've seen. Luckily, the interior has been save by the intact tin roof. Wish more places had had such good roofs. Stay safe, everyone.
This was once a grand house, seen some happy times I bet, some lovely features. I like how you point things out and show such respect, thank you and stay safe 👍🇬🇧👍
The craftsmanship in older homes is unparalleled. The details and special care shows pride and determination in their skill. However just gotta love the 70s era wood paneling 🤦
I grew up living in an old farm house, it too had amazing woodwork inside, and 'gingerbread' decoration along the eaves too. Thank you for documenting these old house's, they are disappearing at a rapid rate, and being replaced by strip malls, condos, and subdivisions.
Wonderful video! Thank you for taking your time to show us the beautiful woodwork. Those fireplaces are so detailed, if someone would strip all the paint off. For some reason, I really loved the yellow and blue wallpaper with the birds. I enjoyed the sound of rain on the roof. Could have stayed there for half an hour or so listening to it.
It’s so great when you find these houses where graffiti hasn’t touched them. Makes it so much easier to imagine them “back in the day.” Love your excitement over things like the original door upstairs!
I love everything about this house!! Oh, the rain on the tin roof takes me back. The porch is incredible! Great place to sleep on a hot NC night. The fireplaces, woodwork, and the staircase...beautiful!! I loved the wallpaper on the staircase walls. My grandma had a water pump in her kitchen, to the right of the sink, it pumped right into the deep sink! Easy way to fill pots for cooking. This is the perfect house to restore back to it’s original beauty! I hope someone does before it’s too late. Great find Kappy! Keep up the great work and stay safe out there!! 😊
I have never posted on here before but I just have to tell you how great your videos are. Viewers can feel the appreciation you have for these beautiful old places. Keep up the excellent work, stay safe and THANK YOU!
OMG!!!!! That had to of been a absolute gem in its day. WOW! The roof is still in good shape. You are only in the livingroom with that gorgeous fireplace mantel (worth $ too) and I'm drooling. I'm surprised it is still there!! And then another gorgeous fireplace mantel. There is nothing better than hearing rain on a tin roof. The house was built prior to electricity. This vid just made my day.
Rain on the tin roof! I miss that sound. This was a great find, Kappy. The mantles and fireplaces were beautiful. I really think they may have been millworked by the time this was built. Still, for the time, would have taken incredible craftsmanship! Stairs look exactly like mine in 1907 house. Couple of the fireplaces are quite similar too. Thank you for sharing. Stay healthy!!!
That Second Story porch blows my mind, they make new houses so cheapy. The new homes nowadays don't leave much for history 100 years from today. Thanks Kappy

Can you imagine what it would cost to build one like this today??? These old houses have a story to tell. Sad to see them torn down. They once had a life, family living in there, kids running around. So sad now. 😞
The front is absolutely amazing, Interior looks salvageable! A little care can go a long way to save what craftsmanship was put into this. As you know they dont build them like they use to and history should be preserved.
Thankyou for showing us this beautiful old house in a quiet place. I particularly liked the porches & the colourful wallpaper with the flowers & butterflies. It would be great if it could be restored.
What an architectural gem ! The doors , the transoms , the space . The carving on the spindles on the staircase is beautiful. Thank you for the explore.
Oh, if I had another life to live I would restore this house!! I agree with Melissa, " Oh my word!!! Beautiful is such an understatement". The outside trim above the porch is awesome. Thank you, Kappy for sharing with us.
I love these old homes there beautiful. I live in a house that is over a hundred years old build in 1902 and it a Victorian style home high ceilings and door ways and tall windows I love my home

I love that hallway with its gorgeous wallpaper and woodwork! The porch was fabulous too, and the covered well with pump would have been so very handy to the kitchen.

This was once a truly beautiful home. It was nice to see the upstairs fireplaces unpainted so you could kind of imagine what the downstairs fireplaces might have originally looked like. Thank you for this lovely explore peaking back in time.
An exceptionally good find, Kappy! That stair hall has a great Munsters/Addams Family quality to it.---This house seems to be a mix of two different eras and styles. The floor plan is similar to other farmhouses you've explored with the central hall; rooms to the side; fireplaces between the window of an outside wall; mostly one room deep; ell in back but the decorative work of the house is much more elaborate. Here's my theory: this house started out as a large but simple farmhouse that was given a Victorian makeover. I'm guessing the staircase wood work, the porch and bay windows, and the door to the upper porch were alterations/additions made to the house. To me the house looks like a mix of simple, Civil War-era with the Victorian style of the 1880's. Whatever the history it would be terrific if someone could move in and reactivate this unusual house and make it a home.
Had a house with a galvanized roof. Loved the rainy days were I could cuddle up on the couch and listen to it hit the roof. Hated that 70s cheap wood look paneling. The house still had it's gingerbread at the eaves. Very nice. Thanks for sharing
Oh my word!!! Beautiful is such an understatement. The mirror over the fireplace! The woodwork! Laaaawd!! I need to hit the lotto! Lol! I would buy this and many others in a heartbeat. Thanks so very much for sharing Kappy. Stay safe and can’t wait for the next amazing find. 😊
Kappy, another amazingly beautiful find!! I thought it was going to be gutted out and falling apart...I am loving it! The gorgeous woodwork and that porch!! I want a 2 story porch that covers the entire length of the front of the house!! Again, thanks for sharing. Stay healthy and well my friend!😊❤
I love the wallpaper. 1998 seems to be last time someone lived there. I know I say the same thing over and over but they probably died. That house is old enough for three lifetimes. They made big upstair porches like that a hundred years ago not to hang out on but as sleeping porches before they had air-conditioning. lol imagine a hundred years ago and your hole family you and your mom and dad and maybe even your grandma and grandpa are all sleeping on the upstairs porch too keep cool on a hot night. lol that's a hole lot of weird just thinking about it. That was a awesome house Kappy thank you.
Whoa! That entrance is stunning. Those bay windows and fireplace...and how cool is that well. The original people must have been well off. You always find the good ones Kappy.
What a beauty !! It was in good shape still too! Another great video. I love your videos, even they always seem to make me a little sad to see such craftsmanship and beauty just left to ruin. But I’m happy to know there’s still some people who have an appreciation for these grand old homes. I’m always a little surprised too that you find so many of them. Great job and keep em coming 😁.

Another gem, Kappy. I bet this was a beautiful home in its day. Thanks for another great find and a great video! You do a wonderful job bringing these homes to life. Stay safe my friend!
Well the house has a tin roof, good thing #1. I'd say that pump was the only source of water back then. Good thing #2, Intact banisters on the staircase and original trim work around the doors (although painted on the first floor) , good thing #3 All fireplaces seem to be intact, good thing #4. And now to the bad things....The horrible 70's paneling, yuck. But overall a keeper to fix up. I'd keep thjat pump weather it still worked or not and try to get all the original doorknobs back along with the doors if they're still on the property somewhere. Another great find Kappy, well done.
Great one! This house is still salvageable!! It just needs someone to invest some time and $$$; and it could be charming once again! Thanks Kappy! Well done!!
Wow! That staircase, the woodwork, and the porch captivated me. What a wonderful find! I would so like to see this place restored to its original beauty. Thanks for another great video, Kappy!
It really does look like it could be saved! What beautiful wood working on the outside second story, then the fireplace and the doors, omg, this place is gorgeous as it is (what I'm seeing in my mind, lol) I hope some one fixes it up!! I would love to own this place! The front door is beautiful, and the staircase wood work is gorgeous! It just keeps getting better and better! The upstairs porch door was absolutely beautiful!! This is a house worth saving!! I can't believe so much of the door frames and etc.... are still intact. You would think people would have stole it and the fireplace mantels. Such a awesome find Kappy!! Thanks for sharing your explore, stay safe out there! Peace, Kim ~
What a gorgeous home! From the well affixed on the back porch to the long front porch fit for a cozy swing, to the banister and Newell post, to the long windows, to the property itself...beautiful. Definitely my favorite explore of yours yet. Thanks for sharing, Kappy. Cheers 🙂
What a magnificent old homestead left to go to rack and ruin. How I love your beautiful wooden houses in the States. Someone should save this one! Gill 🇬🇧
Loved This One! So cool with original fireplaces, looks like there may have been tile surrounds for each mantle, which were pried off, it seems that the over mantles are the next things that will disappear along with the light fixtures, each fireplace was different and unique to each room, always fun to see variations in these farmhouses. Thanks for sniffing out the great ones!
Small family and might explain why this hole is now abandoned. Must of been nice in its day .The woodwork around the front door and on the door leading out to the upper deck was totally awesome. I hope someone seeing this video contacts their city about saving this house as historical or they themselves buy it . Electrical lines ran outside of the walls because electricity was added at a latter date Thank you for filming and sharing with us this gem .
Yes, I'm building a model of a 1904 brick enginehouse for a model railroad and researched the wiring that would be used in those days. The "knobs" were easy to figure, but I didn't understand where "tubes" came into it until I saw a photo of the wiring in walls, completely contained so they could be paneled. The tubes were ceramic tubes with a ridge cast around one end to carry the old cloth-covered wire through studs and headers. I still haven't figured out a simple way to do it in 1/4" scale. Stay safe.
Such nice woodwork throughout this farmhouse! There's something you don't see too often now a days with mass production houses! I love the setting around this house too. Such quaint surroundings. What a breathtaking home this must have been when newer! PS: My first computer was a Gateway 2000. Got it in December of 1997 for almost 2 grand I think. Well my mom got it for me and my brother and it was soooo exciting having our very 1st computer! Had Windows 95. I was 15 then. That brochure just reminded me of that. I definitely don't miss dial-up though lol,
Gorgeous house! The woodwork was beautiful and that door upstairs was awesome! To bad they remodeled some with the 70’s paneling, removing the door knobs and doors... and those drop ceilings 🤦♀️ ! Upstairs was definitely in original condition! Wish someone would save it! Thanks Kappy
I love Kappy's love of architectural details. He knows what counts in these older homes. His eye for a grand Newell post never dissapoints. FYI....They used lathes in the 1800's. Love your videos best!
I really like the look of this house. Why people paint wood though, I will never understand. Pump on the porch was great!! Thanks for another awesome explore!! 😀
They painted the woodwork even when these houses were built. I think it had to do with the quality of the wood. The same for brick houses. Old houses with soft, porous bricks were painted to seal them from moisture.
This would have been grand ole place in it's time. Thanks for taking me along!
You are so lucky that you were there to hear the roof sing again with rain. Some of my favorite memories of my grandparents old farm house. And the bird singing at the end. Dang what a great video.

I'd find a plumber and electrician to keep it historic. Ones who didn't allow little things like permits and inspections to get in the way.
Well stated, Ebbra! This one is a real gem and should be re-polished.
Foundation issues, lead paint, black mold. Electrical issues. The roof.
No insurance company would cover the house.

The old mansions were shaped vertically with amazing symmetry and balance. Even high end homes cannot compare to that grandeur.

Small family and might explain why this hole is now abandoned.
Must of been nice in its day .The woodwork around the front door and on the door leading out to the upper deck was totally awesome. I hope someone seeing this video contacts their city about saving this house as historical or they themselves buy it . Electrical lines ran outside of the walls because electricity was added at a latter date
Thank you for filming and sharing with us this gem .
I like the sound of the rain on the tin roof.
Hi Kappy, morning to ya. Dam paneling we had that too ..lol..A 70’s thing!
The wide door upstairs was amazing!!!👍🤗👍
I do love and enjoy your videos; but I have to say this is one of my very favorite houses for some reason. It just felt so good. Excellent job!
Thanks agreed! I’m a sucker for a big front porch especially a 2nd story porch! Thanks for watching!
Gene.... It's called knob and tube. The knob is the same as a post. And, amazingly, this type of wiring is still in code.
I definitely don't miss dial-up though lol,
I’m not the only one who would like to move
into this house it’s gorgeous thanks for sharing.👍🏼😃
Gorgeous house! The woodwork was beautiful and that door upstairs was awesome! To bad they remodeled some with the 70’s paneling, removing the door knobs and doors... and those drop ceilings 🤦♀️ ! Upstairs was definitely in original condition! Wish someone would save it! Thanks Kappy
I love Kappy's love of architectural details. He knows what counts in these older homes. His eye for a grand Newell post never dissapoints. FYI....They used lathes in the 1800's. Love your videos best!
Wow, What A Wonderful,Grand Ole Beautiful Farm House, Would of Loved to have seen it, in its Day...Stay Safe Kappy..
What a beautiful home that was at one time
Oh what a beautiful home, I would move in there tomorrow. Great find Kappy
What an interesting old place! I wondered why there was only two rooms upstairs too! Thanks Kappy!👍🙋🤗🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🕊️😷
Love this house.
I really like the look of this house. Why people paint wood though, I will never understand. Pump on the porch was great!! Thanks for another awesome explore!! 😀
Same the pump was so unique and must have been very convenient back in the day I imagine! Thanks for watching!
Painting the wood. Absolutely horrible!
They painted the woodwork even when these houses were built. I think it had to do with the quality of the wood. The same for brick houses. Old houses with soft, porous bricks were painted to seal them from moisture.
@@DavidSmith-sb2ix yep
Even worse than painting it, pounding nails into it to hang a sheet or whatever that was.
Reeally loved this house!
That must have been a lovely property in it's heyday. Hopefully, it is savable and someone may come along and restore it.
