This one's a definite keeper. Magnificent old home that should be brought back to life and lived in for generations more. Still has great bones and the floors seem to be solid everywhere along with original doors/base boards/sinks/ etc. Great find sir!! Many thanks for sharing.
This is a grand Federalist design home from antebellum times. The ceilings are high and rooms have tall windows. These were efforts to keep the home cool in the hot summers. Each living area has a fireplace for heating. People dressed for the weather hok! I'm sure there was a privy out back before indoor bath facilities were added from a repurposed room. I'm hoping this home will be saved!
This is one of the better places you've explored. It's definitely worth the effort to finish it up because it's not all torn up. Metal roof saved the ceilings but if it were me I'd upgrade the electrical and plumbing, sand and re-stain the floors, paint and it'll be good to go.
WoW love those windows but I can imagine it being extremely cold in the winter. Fireplaces couldn't put out enough heat to compete with those windows. Gorgeous place I hope someone finishes the restoration before its too late. Thanks Kappy
What a beautiful house! It's in such great shape. The fact that it had a part during the Civil War makes it even more intriguing! I hope someone buys it and finishes restoring it!
Oh those windows though everytime you showed one I was wowed! Just imagine the breeze gently blowing through them! Gorgeous I hope someone picks up where whoever left off... the woodwork was simple but gorgeous! Oh I would live there and love it!!!! Great explore Kappy!
Kappy, I’m sorry for the loss of Rambo :( we just lost our dog dog after 17 years of love and loyalty!!! I just can’t believe that someone would put that much work into restoring and then stop??? I would beg, borrow or steal to finish it! So beautiful 😢😢😢😢
What a beautiful old house! They seem to have done quite a bit of work on this place but never finished. My hope is that they do come back and finish the improvements. Such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing!!😊❤
I bet a beautiful home in horse and buggy days. The women in their long gowns dusting off every step going up and down the staircase, making a person wanting to live back 170 years ago.Thank you so much for showing this home.
I like this house very much. Someone put a lot of repairs into it before they quit, what a shame. Would be so beautiful finished. So sorry for your loss of Rambo. Thanks, Kappy
I love this house, those fireplaces are stunning!!! I can see already what this house would look like restored. I pray that this house gets saved. Love your work kappy.
This house is spectacular!! I wish we could have seen it when it was first built. The tall windows let in more light, they would have put heavy drapes on them in the winter, the high ceilings help keep the house cool in the summer, the fireplaces were gorgeous, during this time period there would have been wallpaper on every wall, there were probably several layers of wallpaper when someone stripped them, that helped get most of the graffiti off I’m sure, a house I lived in had 9 layers. I love the layout of this house, the front door and the stairway are so beautiful, I was glad to see that someone didn’t paint the wood on the stairway and some doors. I hope someone finishes restoring this house!! They could actually live in it while they did it due to its size. Excellent video Kappy! I’m so sorry about your sweet kitty. Take care!
It looks like someone was off to an amazing job at remodeling this house and just gave up. What a rotten shame this house is just sitting there. This is a gorgeous old house. Very historical and cleaned up for the most part. I'd love to see someone else buy this and pick up where the previous owners left off! This is in too nice a shape to just let it go to total waste! Grrrrr, hate to see this gem just going to waste!! Another nice find, thanks and stay safe out there, no. 1!
Videos like these just make me so freaking curious! I keep thinking of scenarios that would have led the owners to just up and leave with paint buckets open and tools scattered everywhere (that includes the scenario of the original owners "chasing" them out haha). These are my favorite, when it seems like they suddently just walked out the door and never came back. --- Absolutely WONDERFUL video Skippy!
Absolutely love the large windows and the spaciousness of this amazing house. They just don't make houses like this anymore.Thank you for sharing this with us. And God bless Rambo....
The windows were big to let more light in, houses were just lit at night with kersone lamps. Looks like basic lighting was added later. The high ceilings allowed it to be cooler in summer. Fireplace in every room cause of no central heat. I bet in winter there were heavy drapes to cover windows.
Love the big rooms, high ceilings, wide hallway upstairs. Hope someone takes up this project. Also glad most of The graffiti was covered up. Thanks for sharing the house and the memory of your sweet kitty ❤️
I live in an old federal with those high ceilings and big windows on the ocean in maine...great in the summer but the fireplaces in every room dont help keep it that warm...but wont trade it for a new build ever...love your videos... hope my house dont end up in a video someday
Wow !! why on gods green earth is this empty and alone !! This place needs to be saved someone was working hard here patching all those cracks !! It needs more love and work but it is so worth it !! Makes me so sad to see it sitting like this I pray that someone comes and finishes this and breathes life back into this beautiful home again ! Great video as always kappy !
Absolutely stunning! If I only had unlimited funds. You're finds are amazing and so is the respect you show for them all. Thanks so much Kappy for sharing. 😊
Very charming front entrance. I love the natural light from the oversized windows. Nice, large living space. Someone had good intentions to remodel/ restore. Lovely staircase. Beautiful home. Thank you for sharing!
Outside looks to be in good shape. Love that molding around the top windows. Have not seen that before. Love the front entrance door AND the screen doors. Seems like someone is renovating. Even put up new ceilings!!! Beautiful fireplace. This house is a gem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only problem with homes built during that time is no insulation. OMG the kitchen sink!!!! It wasn't too long ago that someone started renovating - spackling dust basically undisturbed. That upstairs hall is huge. Bathroom with a fireplace - now I'm drooling. I use to do this when I was younger. I hope whoever started gets to finish or someone.
Oh those windows though everytime you showed one I was wowed! Just imagine the breeze gently blowing through them! Gorgeous I hope someone picks up where whoever left off... the woodwork was simple but gorgeous! Oh I would live there and love it!!!! Great explore Kappy! Sorry about your fur baby....
Hi Kappy!OMG how do u keep finding these gems?I can picture this beautiful place when it was full of love & children running around.maybe a few parties as well.thank u Kappy for capturing these gems before they no longer exists :-) its so sad to these beauties being trashed by vandals.I love that the old doors & windows seem to still be there.I love the old windows , if u have pets they r perfect for them.I notice that people start a reno but don't finish maybe they ran out of money .oh u made me sad at the end: RIP Rambo
One of my favorite houses you’ve explored. Love that, despite the graffiti, nothing is damaged like glass, chandeliers, etc. Great video! ❤️RIP sweet Rambo❤️
Oh, man...i need those double screen doors for my house!! Hope they finish redoing it. A lovely, cute home for a family. A shame to let it go, especially when they've done so much of the really sucky parts like sheetrocking the ceilings. The sink in the kitchen is adorable.
What a find!! Surely, they are not going to destroy this house. It is beautiful and even the traffic going by is not bad. Beautiful windows and fireplaces. It sure looks like someone was, or is, working on restoration. Why would they just stop? One of the best houses to date. Thanks, Kappy.
This house is about a quarter-step below exquisite, a testament to the craftsmanship of former centuries. Kappy, I believe both the enclosed porches were later additions, since the second one has clapboard siding on two of its walls, showing they were most likely exterior walls. One thing I found surprising is that most of the windows are unbroken, which except for the open upstairs window, has helped preserve the interior. As someone suggested earlier (below) is it against the Urbex Code to close windows where possible? I hate to see even the smallest opening to admit inclement weather and flying things like birds and insects. Very nice find. (Sorry if it's painful, but who was Rambo? I lost a "cat who owned me," then had to take her replacement back to the shelter where I got her, for re-adoption when I moved into a place too small for her comfort. I still wake up some mornings from very realistic dreams where a cat is curled up in my lap, purring soothingly.)
KappyThis is a beautiful home n it's 2 bad that it wasn't finished on the renovation part Hopefully some1 will come along n finish up on what the other started Thanks 4 letting us go along 2 another good find
Wow what a stunning old house, it really was well designed with light and air in mind. I loved the double door entrance and that staircase was beautiful. Such a shame idiotic people think it's fine to go and write meaningless scrawls over peoples private property. I'm wondering if it was their parents home and when they passed the Son/Daughter tried to do it up but they were maybe hit by ill health or financial problems and couldn't continue which is a great shame. Magnolia is my favourite flowering bush/tree as to me it heralds Spring here in the UK. Thank you for showing us this grand old home. x
Thank you for your the quiet respect for the pkaces you are in. Much respect for you. History has its good and bad, you seem to see it properly. Good on you.
This house needs to be saved! Just beautiful. Love the detail on the exterior above the windows. Like eyebrows. Very unique. Hurts to see this one abandoned and the beginning of the house trashing!
WOW!! Magnolia trees are my favorite. I hope someone restores this beautiful house before it falls apart. Such a waste !! How could the owners just let it go .
Hello from Maryland. Just started viewing this video, awesome so far and oh the windows. Thanks in advance for sharing, this is going to be a fantastic video.
Goodness Kappy, this was worth the wait! Gorgeous house. Neither you nor the other explorers I follow divulge locations which is good good good, but can you tell me the state it’s in and is it for sale? Love the stairway and the mantle‘s that were left. I’ll bet there was originally a summer kitchen and “servants” quarters. Thank you thank you thank you. Be careful and stay safe.
The staircase is in pristine condition, amazing. Those ceilings are “ vaulted “ ceilings. They are meant to pull the heat up and also add lots of “ open “ space. I remember my old home was like this as well. My old CW Italianate, man I miss that house . But when you live in a historical house in a historical section of town the taxes are really ridiculous. I still miss it . Thanks for the explore, Kappy. As always, job well done 👍
This house is a beautiful lil gem! Love love love the huge arse windows wow! So happy to see someone giving it some love too. Fantastic find youre amazing thanks Kappy ❤️

That place is amazing, sure hope they finish the restoration and the vandals don't do anymore harm. Fantastic find Kappy, and sweet kitty
Great place. The chandeliers and sink in kitchen are probably original to the the house. Loved it! Thanks 😊

Beautiful old house! It looks like someone is working on it. So sorry about your kitty. Black and whites are my fav!
Oh, man...i need those double screen doors for my house!!
Hope they finish redoing it. A lovely, cute home for a family. A shame to let it go, especially when they've done so much of the really sucky parts like sheetrocking the ceilings.
The sink in the kitchen is adorable.
Amazing old house in great condition. It shows it was being fixed up. I wonder what happened? I love it and all its charm.

Beautiful home! The double doors were to accomodate hoop skirts the ladies wore in that era.

This place is an absolute gem. Beautiful
Magnificent. I wouldn't mind living there, restoring the place room by room. It should not be difficult to find out who the present owners are.
Gorgeous! I wish I was rich I’d bring it back to life. The windows and doors are incredible.
Such a great explore as always. So sorry for your loss--I just lost my little 16 year old kitty very suddenly.
Thank you for your the quiet respect for the pkaces you are in. Much respect for you. History has its good and bad, you seem to see it properly. Good on you.
