He is so down to earth the last thing he said " I think I am just a racer " that's what Michael Schumacher is all about people might say he was unfair or over the limit but he deserves the respect winning 7 world championship and 91 races is no joke hope he recovers soon praying for you matey
He's acknowledged his strenghts, he knows he's good, he says so in this videos, but not in an arrogant way. This is what makes him better than the likes of Hamilton.
@@kj48tiger I agree. Also, one of Schumi's championships has a big asterisk beside it since it should have been Damon Hill's and Hamilton got ripped off Verstappen's first championship year too
I grew up with Michael Schumacher during the 1990's and the 2000's when his dominance was incredible... rebuilding Ferrari from the waste of space it was to the monster it became from 2000/2004, trust me in my personal opinion he is a man who like Senna paid attention to detail. Getting the right people onboard and proving that a team can be competitive despite having the downfall in 1996 with some special moments. Then there was 2005 with the controversial one tyre race which many believe to this day was to stop him winning the title. 2006 many feel was his genuine last chance to fight for the title against Alonso, if his engine didn't blow up in Suzuka that year he would have done it, despite being mentally exhausted from doing what we loved him doing, racing, winning and achieving World Championship crowns. When Schumacher came back as one of the millions of fans behind him in 2010, we felt like ''The king is back, he's going to be on top again!'' Sadly how wrong we were... I must admit I had that feeling of excitement when he did the pole lap in Monaco 2012 and I must admit I did get a large lump in my throat when he was on the podium for the last time at Valencia whilst sharing the special moment with Kimi and Alonso and got to stand alongside them on the #1 place with them. I can give his time in Mercedes one conclusion, Michael came back to enjoy racing as he missed it. I think inside his heart though it was time to close the chapter indefinitely... As he said in his own words... ''I think I'm just a racer...'' A humble end, to a hell of a career.... #keepfightingmichael
I've watched this interview a few times and I always start to well up. Very moving, especially given the terrible turn that Schuey's life has taken since.
I have followed Formula 1 since Schumi signed for Ferrari. To be honest, I was never a fan of him, since he always drove into my favourite drivers. However, even I have to admit he is the greatest racing driver that has ever existed. His ability to surpass his competitors with underperforming cars is just outstanding. He set new competition standards that others could only dream of. The only one who could compete with him in pure speed was probably the great Ayrton Senna.
hey navi your right senna was better then shumacher what about hakkinan he could keep up to pure speed then shumacher was and if he didnt retire i think hakkinan would have won more world titles and u must forget i read and watched a few old f1 videos he was temates with senna at mclaren in 93 can u imagine if senna hadnt left mclaren in 94 and gone to williams how the story would change senna hakkinan dream team would prevent michael from winning many titles and u also have forgotten that lewis hamilton is a much talented better driver then shumacher and he has 4 world titles now and lewis said that ayrton was his idol growing up i thin hamilton will break the record
When Schumacher collided with Vergne in Singapore 2012, I remember thinking, "He's going to announce his retirement." Very next race weekend in Japan, sure enough he announced his now permanent retirement. He was nothing like the man who won five driver's titles on the bounce for Ferrari. I felt like the only one at the time of his comeback in 2010 that he wasn't going to gain anything from it

Yet if i ask you to find one example of Hamilton saying that he is good in arrogant way, you wont find one.

He could beat Senna in a same team. Senna made more mistakes than Prost when they raced together in McLaren.

Thnx for this video. Michael is such a humble guy for a legend :)
I wouldn’t be surprised if part of Mercedes’ dominance was partly due to Michael’s input

That car was a piece of trash back then. Surprised they made top 10 with that car.
Jake is irreverent.
