This review sold me on getting this new board for myself as a Christmas present for me. I been waiting for a new MSI board that will make me this excited and they finally did it.
Really? I cant find the corrct Wifi drivers. My USB 2.0 ports arent working either, apparently its the the latest BIOS. And on top of all that I cant boot unless its in CSM (instead of UEFI). Literally the least 'rock solid' motherboard build i've ever had in 20 years of making PC;s...
@@pboytrif1 very odd. That is not my experience at all. The only issue I am having is that my Corsair LCD aio's screen won't show up in icue. But I have had so many issues with icue and this aio since I got it that I just assumed it was icue. Outside of that it's been solid. Sorry to hear your experience is different. I haven't done any bios updates etc in this time either, literally turned it off working, now it no longer exists. Let the trouble shooting begin. @@pboytrif1 I dont have this mobo yet but i was looking around (i have the x570s of this model) and apparently it was a buggy BIOS causing the usb 2.0 not working and they have taken it down. they probably gonna release a new bios soon. I've find these info on overclock forum

Hi Laurent, After 12 years, my old PC system (AM3+ with an FX CPU) died this August. It took me a lot of time to compare all the necessary components for the new build. Just when I thought I had finally found my new system (B650 motherboard, etc.) and was about to order the parts online, your video popped up on TH-cam. Since I’m building an entirely new system, I changed my decision and ordered the MSI X870 Tomahawk (with an AMD R9 7900X and DDR5 6000 CL30). I think my new system will more than meet my needs 😃. Thanks for the helpful video that guided my purchase decision 👍. Greetings from Vienna/Austria!
I haven't been able to sleep properly for 3 days trying to build my PC, and I was really struggling to find the motherboard. I think I'll go with this one. Thanks for the insight.
@zanaszlibinas1389 This was already clear in my mind. 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz, RTX 4070 Super, 7 9800X3D, and I was stressing over the motherboard because there are 50,000 options. This is the most complete and affordable one I found.
MSI in my opinion has some of the best looking boards also the highest rate of failure. Source: 20y experience and a friend who works at a popular online store in the RMA dept.
How are your reboot times looking like? For me it's about 2 minutes before it actually posts, with 64GB of 30-6000 ram. Then another minute or so before windows. If I shut down, then hit the power button it is much much faster. Very peculiar.

Thanks Laurent. Currently rocking an MSI x570s Ace Max with 5900X system. I might be at a place to build a new system early next year. Hopefully by that time, we'll see the realities of the 9000 series X3D CPUs and if it's worth abandoning thoughts of a 7800X3D I really wish we could get a redesign on these MBs to NOT hide the M.2s underneath the GPU. I don't wanna have to keep ripping out my GPU just to get at them. Maybe only way is with an E-ATX form factor...
Paired this motherboard with 9800X3D and 8000mhz RAM - the system won't boot with anything above 4800mhz. Many other people have the exact same issue with other RAM modules, so the issue is very clearly in the motherboard. Stay away from it until MSI fixes this - and it's been an ongoing issue, so god knows why they haven't done anything already.

I always liked your reviews. They are very thorough when it comes to the features of the motherboards and is greatly appreciated. Having said that, have you considered adding any type of benchmarking to your reviews? On paper, a mobo can be great and have all the features and cooling, VRMs, etc, but may choke under load, even from a reputable brand. I've noticed for example watching mobo round-ups from Hardware Unboxed, that even "premium" brands like Asus have been putting out mediocre (and overpriced) boards and lower tier companies like ASRock have improved the last couple of gens.
