    Hi everyone! I'm going to pin some common questions/concerns I've been seeing:
    How often should I be using this product:
    -High Porosity: The water will instantly absorb inside the hair. Use every 2-3 wash days for at least 30 minutes
    -Medium Porosity: The water will form droplets on the surface of the hair and then absorb inside. Use every 3-4 wash days for at least 20 minutes
    -Low Porosity: The water will form droplets on the surface of the hair, without absorbing. Use every 4-5 wash days for at least 15 minutes
    Why are these two being compared if CurlSmith is a protein treatment not a bonding treatment.
    - So although CurlSmith contains protein, IT IS a bonding treatment. It helps target all three hair bonds (salt, hydrogen, & disulfide) to repair, restore, and rebuild the strength of your hair. Olaplex is also a bonding treatment that does not contain enough protein to even be considered a protein treatment. Nonetheless, I love both products. I'll forever be a fan of Olaplex, and I will not stop using it. CurlSmith is just another amazing option that provides both the benefits of a bonding and protein treatment!
    These are the 3 actives used:
    -Fiberhance™ patented complex, to target hydrogen and ionic (salt) bonds. You can find it in the INCI under HYDROXYPROPYLGLUCONAMIDE and HYDROXYPROPYLAMMONIUM GLUCONATE.
    -ProCutigen Bond® complex, to target disulfide bonds. This is derived from Chia seeds, so you can find it in the INCI under SALVIA HISPANICA (CHIA) SEED EXTRACT.
    -TEGO® Cosmo complex, to target electrostatic (salt) bonds. You can find it in the INCI under CREATINE.
    So the final take away is, this is not one brand bashing the other. These two are actually safe to use together, although it's not necessary. Use whichever would work best for you depending on what your hair needs at the moment. I know I wasn't the best candidate to show when it comes to damaged hair being that my hair is healthy, but that does not mean bonding treatments are not needed. Even if you have healthy hair, daily activities can damage the bonds of your hair. So I personally have been doing bonding treatments for years and will continue to use them in order to keep my curls strong, healthy, and prevent future damage.
    I hope this helps clear up any confusion you all may have had! Xo

      Since curlsmith says its a bonding treatment that contains protein can you compare it to an actual protein treatment like aphogee? The marketing on this product is very confusing because on their website they call these products their protein line so I assume that it's a protein treatment like aphogee but all the videos are of people comparing this to a bonding treatment... I understand curlsmith is technically both but at the end of the day, if it says protein I want to see it compared to another protein product. I don't mean any hate, it's just all the videos on this product are practically identical but the message is still not making any sense to me. All things aside, your hair looked amazing after using that

      @@romigerman7608 hi there! I wouldn't sit under the steamer! Both of these products don't require heat to be activated so it's not necessary! ❤️

      @curlelia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ajones8939 no I totally understand! So the CurlSmith treatment won't be AS intense as the apHogee treatment. The CurlSmith product is more of a moisturizing protein treatment, while apHogee is definitely more intense! Im happy to do a comparison video of two protein treatments as well! The reason CurlSmith is being compared to Olaplex is because it's also a bonding treatment, just with protein!

    Thanks for the review. I appreciate you all doing this - one note is that they are different treatments so comparing them is not really reasonable. Curlsmith has protein and moisture but Olaplex is bonding only - no protein or moisture. Olaplex needs a deep conditioner after. Either way your hair looks good. I definitely plan to try once in a while for protein but Olaplex as a bonding. treatment

    • @curlelia
      @curlelia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! Both bonding treatments, but Olaplex doesn't even contain enough protein to be considered a protein treatment. They're both very similar products, but still very different. The CurlSmith treatment is definitely different in comparison to any protein treatment I've used as far as leaving my hair moisturized post washing out. Very good points! But thanks girl! ❤️

    It makes sense that the Curlsmith side gave you more shrinkage. I would say the Curlsmith product is both a bond builder and a protein treatment, whereas the Olaplex treatment is only a bond builder so you still need to do a separate protein treatment so you’re getting a 2 in 1 with Curlsmith and more product for about the same price as Olaplex so Curlsmith is definitely a better deal.

    I feel like curlsmith shouldn't make sponsorship comparing their product to another brand. I've seen about 5 of these types of videos and it's like they specifically made their product to have seemingly better results. I don't know if it's just me who feels that way. If a brand wants to show that they product works then there should be a comparison of someone's hair with and without the product not the product vs a popular named product. That just seems unethical to me personally.

    • @curlelia
      @curlelia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I can see what you're saying for sure. I think their goal was to show that they're are other options in the market. I'm a HUGE fan of Olaplex and always will be. They're both bonding treatments, but Olaplex doesn't have enough protein to be even considered a protein treatment. So although both products are similar, they're still very different just based on their ingredients alone.

    • @TWS1977
      @TWS1977 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I agree. I think it’s making a comparison because most people will do it on their own. It is also the nature of competition as there are many similar products out there. I think it’s a good thing because it is a different price point and one is actually a protein while another isn’t

    • @leoskiss3390
      @leoskiss3390 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree I’ve reported every video that included the paid promotion because it’s like how are you comparing products that are clearly different and are meant to have different results, One can’t be better than the other they can be used together

    • @curlelia
      @curlelia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Ash Noragami I get that, but CurlSmith is also a bonding treatment. It does indeed contain protein so it can be used as a 2-in-1, as Olaplex is solely a bonding treatment. They're both great products, it's just another variation of a bonding treatment. if your hair is more sensitive to protein you'd lean and grab Olaplex vs. if say you are high porosity or in need of a protein fix, your hair would love CurlSmith because of the amount of protein it contains. Nonetheless, I get why people would feel a way, but CurlSmith paid for influencers to give their honest opinion. They don't give a layout on what to say and I think thats the common misconception people tend to have with paid partnerships. I couldn't say I liked one product over the other because they're both great and are perfect options for anyone looking to try a bonding treatment. Since Olaplex is the top bonding treatment in the market (IMO)- They wanted to show another variation of a bonding treatment for those who may want options.

    • @curlelia

      Hi there! They are both in fact bonding treatments. One just contains more protein than the other. Olaplex does contain protein just not enough to be considered a protein treatment while CurlSmith contains natural protein. So yes, both can be compared being that they are both bonding treatments, but it'll all be dependent on what you're looking for from a product. 🤷🏽‍♀️
