Got my first bike when I was 17. Every bike I've owned from the age of 22 has been used for track days. Ducati is the only make I've never taken for a slide and I've owned several.
Finally a bike built to actually be ridden hard with a real seat, road worthy tires, and a front fender! Function first, form second! Kudos to Ali, he is using all the tires have to give!!
great video and happy to see a ducatista from UK with so much passion. I am a ducatista myself (4 ducatis currently in my garage being a GT1000 one of them) and yes it is about passion, great sound, high performance and style. all together in one package...and let's be honest when I pass by there is literally no one who does not turn his head to look at them...:-D
Hi. The exhaust is from a pieroBON (maybe F042 model?) and is absolutely modified-shortened. The "flat spot" is originaly made to give clearance but as it is mounted here it's purely useless... Still this sportclassic custom is a must. Great looking bike and surely performing way better than the original.
lol starting my ducati i have to hold the starter and just blip the throttle a ton and pray. watching him just poke the starter and watching it fire up makes me really realize i need to fix my bike.
problem for later, when it’s reaching to be in a classic age, the bike is not in the original state. If being sold after 25jr it will never be collectible. Believe me these air cooled Ducati’s like the shaftdriven valve Ducati’s, will be a collectible motorcycle, especially the grey/green Paul Smart version.
Nice bike if you had the chance to buy a 79 ducati desmo 900ss would you leave it as standard or upgrade all the suspension and brakes, it's in a state so all would have to be rebuilt anyway.
Yours seem to be a GT1000 that was converted into a Sport 1000 mate. If memory serves, original Sport 1000 has a single shock at the back which is on left, so different swingarm too.
3 version features the symetrical swingarm setup: the biposto 1000, the fairing 1000s (which differs from the single shock paul smart version) and the gt. all 3 lack the dry clutch but if not mistaken the gt casing is grey (the biposto and 1000s casing is black).
Great looking bike! Although that doesn't look like a 999r front end. The lower machined section that the caliper bolts is different to the 999r. Perhaps its from 1098r?
Nice Would have liked to have seen at the lobby before purchase and the procedure of bringing her back to life would have made better viewing but Thanks all the same.
I love it, but the older I get the more I appreciate bikes that looks retro:ish to have conventional forks with axial calipers. Exactly like the new Speed Twin. But I am a bit of a hypocrite as I really love digital speedoes. Does anybody remember the old oil cooled Thruxton with öhlins suspension, forged wheels and d2 speedo? That for me was the ultimate retro bike. But yeah. the older I get the more I like the normal look of traditional suspension. But like I said I am a bit of a hypocrite :P Anyway I love this bike, I could have owned one but I bought an d675 instead at that time because of how light a d675 is.
Dear god... you RUINED that bike. The red with the old style DUCATI was *beautiful* and you just destroyed it with that shite plastic-looking nonsense color. Ugh. This is depressing.
This bike is amazing, Ducati bring it back!
Is not the same Ducati anymore
i dont want them to bring it back even though its my favorite bike but if they did bring it back they would ruin it
As someone that owns two of them, if they brought it back and it didn't suck, I'd pre-order the day the ordering banks were opened.
Looked so much better in red.

Really? These have a terrible turning circle.
Excellent Explanation good service to the bike Riders in detail

Most beautiful bike ever!!!
love the 999 front end swap. But the bike looked much better in the Ducati red.
Lovely bike! These Sport Classics are really tastefully done.
That colour is gorgeous
Awesome bike. Love the color change
I love how ducati bark sound, lovely
Dude, take the nob end of, give it a small headlight and that'll be it. Gorgeous color, fits it.
That sticky rubber...nice.
I'm slowly restoring my 2000 monster. Mrs is adamant I keep it red.
Heading for a fall out after seeing this 😂

Beautiful. Love the new color, goes well with the gold wheels and Öhlins.
"Sound system" brilliant
Lovely bike love the sound of Ducati’s and mostly Italian bikes 👍
The bike is absolutely fantastic and it's got all the right stuff on it the fella can ride it great as well bloody great video
Fucking hell what a bike, great vision and ridden hard. Beauty build with the right upgrades and fucking melted marbles !
Sport classic is my dream bike
You can buy mine for a million pounds
What brand is that leather jacket???
Great bike! The Piero exhaust sounds fantastic! I wasn't familiar with them.
sweet set-up.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but one day I'd love to tour London on my FZ07 and have it featured on Regular Rides. Trust me, the thing is a peach.
Bring it...
Sounds like a challenge
Just a matter of shipping it over seas! Would it be worth it? Oh hell yeah.
that front end is top notch. I bet that Öhlins fork price tag is not less than 3 grand.
What model is that at 6:24?
The bike that actually BARKS at you.
Oh boy, that's a good sound
Absolutely stunning motorcycle!
Its a work of ART
Looked good in red
Soooo ali has built a ducati sport classic R? Beautiful. I like. Throw in "Rossi" edition for pazzazz.
Cool bike, thanks for sharing. Cheers
Perfect bike.

I’ve had an ‘08 Sport since new and it has twin rear shocks. Pretty sure it was the first model in the line to have them

Beautiful machine man 👍
Meravigliosa......what a beauty.....bellissima complimenti.

I love your leather jacket, what brand is it?
Just a beautiful freaking bike man
what jacket is he wearing?
Love the bike of course looks 🔥, but what are those trousers they look ideal for what I need
They’re Uglybros, here’s the review on them: thebikeshed.cc/bsmc-gear-guide-6/
Thanks!
How tall are you though ?
Gorgeous
When Ducati had a character...

Whats a lobby? Is it like a pantry ..asking for a friend
Nice bike! More info on the Piero exhaust?
Gorgeous 👍🏼
Are those motorcycle pants ?
Ducati crowd more passionate than Harley crowd?? I choose to be offended. Have called the police. Enjoy prison.
Shadow Broker this one genuinely got me laughing! [Dan]
😂
Makes me want one..
Cracking bike
such a dream
Yes. YES
Great looking Duke..
Sounds like a T. Rex clearing its throat...
those aren't 999R forks...that's 1098 type * (sorry im a few years late lol)
😂
You’d never hear a harley person badmouth a ducati person tough.. And you call that class 😂
Soap. Don't drop it.
They can't even spell Ducati. So, there is that
Harley peeps don't badmouth anyone. Because they haven't got a leg to stand on. :P
Nice 👍
thats one sexy bike
5:10 your clutch-fluid looks terrible :(
Man, that clutch fluid goes dark real quick. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had changed it out the week prior.
Frontend looks very much 1098
my old 79 ironhead is pretty upset wit ur class comment but ill calm her dwn.

Ducati, making mechanics out of motorcyclists since 1926.
Philip Cooper started making motorcycles in 1926?
Harley and Ducati have something else in common, exploiting customers by inflating prices
DreaM bike
terrible turning circle on these.
Can I have it 😂
aaaand
Ducati vs HD--you say class, I say pretentious.
Got beat by a Chad How original
My advice to you is .....stop saying AAAh! and AAAnd! .....and stop cutting your own hair!
Dear god... you RUINED that bike. The red with the old style DUCATI was *beautiful* and you just destroyed it with that shite plastic-looking nonsense color. Ugh. This is depressing.
Seriously... I'm just floored that someone would actually do that. God damn what a disgusting waste.
