Hi: i'm new (started yesterday) and guys: he explains it so fine! I was able to make a simple dress for Xiaoyu (Tekken) and export it to daz and it worked just fine! I'm just need to leanr d-force in daz3d and im really to go! (The reason i told u i used xiaoyu is she is small (157cm) and i made her that way in daz3d so if you want to make dresses i recommand you use the model from daz3d for that

Hey Mike! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! Very straight forward and useful! I only have one question, is there a way to export the mesh to Maya keeping the seams you see on the sewed portions of the clothes? I kind of really like that effect but when I import the mesh into Maya all I get is a smooth mesh with some folds and no seams...

Great tut, maybe go on with how to create variations using gravity? How do you make some pieces slimmer/while other more suave/softer? Also is it possible to multi-mesh, subtools visibility toggle on/off in combo with simulation? Is it possible to combine rigid sculpted meshes like a warrior, with the undershirt, then body armor? Aka do some previz by canceling and invoking subtools? Meh, neh? Like say I want to have cloth but load individual mesh subtools, can MD handle this? Multiple meshes, separated subtools and load the simulation with those more complex scenes setups?
I notice some people use Zbrush in combo with MD, they appear to edit using a sculpting method? I assume this is very high poly, is there a way to control the polycount in MD? I don't get their method. Are they reverse engineering the cloth for posing? Is the mesh an Alembic? That would explain animation, like branches animation in software like SpeedTree. Although that would make no sense with Zbrush, since it creates passive tools. What is the logic behind their workflow? Neurons collapse ^ OUT

preferences -> gizmo .. set it to world coords instead of screen if you have that as I did as default
screen coords suck sooooo hard :/

Mike, how do you move around your avatar dynamically? I used to be able to do it with MD7 but have recently trialed MD8 and cannot view the avatar dynamically...the only options are the static views top, bottom, side etc.
