    hi, do you know how to export these topstitches as normal map. Because as actually geometry the result is too heavy..

    • @aidengomes231
      @aidengomes231 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The best you can do its having two meshes, one with them one without and bake a normal map yourself

    This function can be used in conjunction with ZBrush. Its effect is very good, but obj has too many faces.

    Hi Travis, great video!! I only have one doubt. Is there any way of seeing the stitching while the simulation is on?

    • @TravisDavids
      @TravisDavids  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately not, MD disables this for the sake of performance. I stand to be corrected but i haven't found anyway to enable top stitching while a simulation is running.

    Not too familiar with MD yet, but would this top stitching be exportable into either a texture or mesh? You mentioned it being great for renders so I was just curious how you go from MD to the render portion with the stitches still in tact.

    • @TravisDavids
      @TravisDavids  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When you export your garment it exports the top stitching as actual geometry that you can use and import into another program. Every top stitch that you see in MD will be part of the actual obj of the garment once its exported.

    1.) Hey, great tutorial thanks for that !
    2.) Do you know if the stitches have uv cordinates (are uv´t) for quick texturing or do you have to uv them after export ?
    Thinking of doing stitches in MD directly exporting to SubstancePainter, would that work or you have to first unwrap the stitches uvs somehow ?

      have you found a good workflow for the stitches to substance? in the UV editor in MD the cloth shows but not the stitches.

    After designing everything, can we print out each part with exact scale on paper for real production??

      @@TravisDavids So then what the real purpose of this software? Clothing concept visualization?

    • @LunaJorgensen
      @LunaJorgensen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NBCNothingButCrap To create real pattern blocks for garment production you'd use CLO instead of Marvelous. Marvelous helps in visualisation, but also in creating clothes for 3D characters for cinema/animation and video games. For example, the clothes creation pipeline in the most recent Assassin's Creed, I'm fairly certain, made use of Marvelous.

      I completely agree with you, because for some time i worked in clo3d, as i was interested in cutting and not cg but unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to do on the computer how to teach Julian Roberts:D

      @@TravisDavids the only thing that sucks is the stitching is offset to the edge so if you want to apply a stitch over two panels it's impossible.
