I like fortitude for Champion fighters focused on tanking because they gain an intrinsic healing feature for when they’re bloodied so it gets upgraded by the boon.
In the defense of Spell Recall, 2 subclasses cap their spell slots at 4th level: eldritch knights and arcane tricksters. Having a 25% chance to recycle the slot for any of their spells could be worth it.
Conjure Minor Elemental. Shield. Silvery Barbs. There are good options in 1-4 list that make it worth it. And as said those with Spell Levels 1-5 can get a good use of it.
@@shadowmancer99 For full casters though you have so many of those it just does not matter. At level 19 I am not running out of 3rd level spells very often, if at all. For 1/2 casters it does have some play. If it had been if the roll equals or is greater than the spell level I think it would be decent. But 25% chance just is too low for the benefit you gain.
@@Ahglock There are two types of benefits...one is the player, the other is for the DM..and as a DM, I WANT my players to use their resources, so if this encourages them to do so...well, all good. but hey, that is why its a choice...I think its pretty good.
You are smoking some weird ass crack if you think Boon of Skill is number 1. There are a LOT of ways to get a skills, and most arent worth getting and for those classes that do make use of lots of skills, they get more anyway. This is the WORST one. Considering your previous "high bar" in dissing some of the others, this seems like the king of the anti climax...lol.
Its not the best, but its not the worst either. A lot of classes are pretty lacking in the skill department, so it can be a big shift for them. Boon of fate imo is the worst a once per fight 2d4 on a roll just isn't worth it imo. The ones that aren't at will, always on or every turn really need to really deliver a big impact, that one doesn't. Boon of fortitude is close. Its basically the origin feat tough but as a 1/2 feat. The extra healing is too small to make it worth it.
