  • A highly requested video that I finally got around to make. Im sorry its so long but frankly a lot goes into the day with parrots and I wanted to give a good idea of how much you have to do. This day they were well behaved but I plan to make another daily routine during nesting/hormonal season to give you an idea of them at their best and at their worst.
Here is a breakdown of my day:
    1. Wake up at 7:20am
    2. Wake up the birds
    3. Go downstairs to give them fresh vegetable chop and pellets
    4. Bring them in for a shower or offer a bath
    5. Let them receive some sunshine, watch some tv or music
    6. Bring them back down to finish chop, eat fruit, treats like walnuts and some nutriberries
    7. Bring them back upstairs
    8. Clean their downstairs cage with vinegar and a power wash outside
    9. Clean upstairs area, vacuum, change lining
    10. Relax watch tv or run errands
    11. Make sure they all ate dinner, Put them to sleep when the sun goes down
    12. Leave lights off and leave room for complete uninterrupted sleep
    13. Go downstairs to vaccum and clean the mess they made, wipe walls, floor, or any other mess they made

What a lovely home for them! I too have a quaker and a sun. My sun highly obfects to my quaker's very existence! I have been thinking of getting another quaker because he is very social and my sun is also solitary and happy with that most of the time. I wish they would play together but, no such luck. Thank you for being such a great bird Mom!

My daughter has a sun and green cheek conure. They are best buddies besides a lil bickering here and there. My quaker is solitary for now. I am not sure to get another one. Maybe when I am retired (hopefully 3 yrs from now) our quaker is happy with just us and has to learn to play a bit more.

For my birds we have a food plate thingy in the cage and we leave it there all the time and they eat quite a lot of it,i think it’s probably wrong so I wanna ask you what I should do for them relating to their feeding and stuff.
Also is caffeine quite bad for them cuz the older one always flies to me when I’m eating breakfast and drink my chai😅
I’m very worried for the other one we just bought her and she can’t balance on those and keeps slipping she doesn’t hav wings long enough yet and she keeps falling down, luckily I catch her everytime but is it a serious injury if she falls from the table to the ground,I say we give her back cuz our own sun conure which is a year just came a month ago and my family doesn’t know anything about birds so it’s better for her if we give her back but will it damage the healthy one in any way?

@@mimisbirdhouse thanks, the other we just bought a few days ago she’s very young so I understand y she can’t walk or fly properly, she’s around 4 to 6 months that’s what the previous owner said, she would follow whatever the older one does she would also go wherever he goes and copies him a lot and it’s cute, the only problem is she can’t balance well and should they be able to fly at such a young age?when we bought her we didn’t cut her wings off they were already pretty short, she’s only scared of ppl approaching but not items and eats a lot

@@Murder.Muffin she's a lot better and we've found out she could fly so well some time ago,we realized that becuz the bird shop owner where we bough her from kept her in a very small cage and didn't give her any chances to even walk around much or fly at all that's y she kept falling down when we first bought her
Surprisingly she can fly very well and very fast and now she's always climbing around her cage and very happy and outgoing and eats everything, she just has severe biting problem where she bites SO MUCH without realizing it hurts me or others but she's cute so I'll allow it

@MimisBirdHouse the veggiegrain dries up so fast. I am not home all but my husband. He forgets to take it out. That's why I give him new for dinner. I see from you outside video that you live where it's green and more humidity. Here in AZ everything dries out. He doesn't like chop. Some veggies handfed. He loves corn and beans (white, red, pinto) which are in his bake. Yeah you are right I keep doing what I do. He looks healthy 😊😚

@@mimisbirdhouse OK, that's what I thought. It just wasn't obvious from the video, which I enjoyed.
Awful scary accident happened... almost happened to us last Sunday. Thanks G-d it ended up good. Still trembling inside.
My White-winged parakeet girl Chica flew through the front door at such a speed I couldn't react and disappeared outside in the flush greens of my garden's kiwi and passion vines.
I spent an hour cutting the plants in desperate hope of finding her. I called her and - thanks to all that advice to play birds sounds on a phone - played her past videos at the maximum volume.
And at some moment I heard her! In the opposite direction, across the road in 300 feet from our house! She overheard my cell phone birds play and answered! I couldn't spot her at first but then noticed her on a small tree in the middle of my neighbor's lawn. And she patiently waited for me running to grab my orchard ladder, she didn't fly away when I put it beside the tree and allowed to grab her!
I was going to put multiple curtains, screens, whatever near the front door but haven't done it yet.
Recently I did install the magnetic screen outside our opposite deck door.
