@@fsoiberg exactly, people make fun of them, as they should, for not learning how to back up a trailer. No excuses to not practice if you own a boat, just dumb laziness.
Frightening to think that Wyoming doesn't have mussel checkpoints anywhere in the state ! Henry's Lake in Idaho a gal at the checkpoint showed me a tennis shoe that was inside a bilge on a boat from back east that was covered with Quaggas ! Dude told her his boat was fine to launch into Henrys and then got upset when she looked in his bilge and found a gigantic mess of Quaggas! Boat was quarantined... "ruined" his trip, but saved Henrys Lake for the rest of us fishermen ! Dip Tank is a GREAT idea !
When you make something easy (or at least easier), you get more compliance and willingness to work WITH the government. As soon as the government makes a simple process too hard or too costly, people won’t follow their laws.
In olden days, seafarers didnt scrape their hulls completely clean because the mussels growing on them were sources of fresh food. They'd send a crows nestman down tied to a rope to scrape them off for the sailors to eat.
I hate to say it but zebra muscles cling pretty good a dip ant gona get them off also we had them like crazy on all the Great Lakes and sub lakes a few years ago but they all seem to have died off and things are looking back to normal
Soooooo where do they suggest you put your anchor if they don't want you to put it inside your boat after use? Typical set of directions given by the government...
Why don't they have this at every boat ramp so before you go in the boat ramp you can pull your boat in and get it decentralized before you put it in the water and after you pull it out of the lakes and oceans
A government agency that actually gets something done and helps the people.
No lines! Until you get the 50% of ramp boaters that don't know how to back up their boat.......
50 %? You haven't seen a ramp in Minnesota on the fishing opener!
That's cool, looks more effective than visual inspections too
Make it a DRIVE-THRU!
Some boaters have trouble backing up.🤣
Oh, and cars/truck get wet too.
if you cant back up, you shouldn't be boating
@@kamerontheisen403 Agreed, but I see it on YT all the time. There are channels dedicated to boaters who can't back up.

Probably can't dip the boat deep enough while keeping the truck shallow enough.
@@saiboogu Good answer, but the problem is still attached to the car/truck.

Backing up, one hand on the bottom of the wheel, boat goes the direction of the hand.
I had trouble backing up trailers so whenever I get the chance ima try this
Learned that from my stepfather. It works.
Still need a brain. 50% can't back up a trailer straight more than 20ft.
@@justmee9441 I was hoping that’s where you would come in. Help me out.😅
@@justmee9441 I learned to back up using a Kenworth.
Awesome great idea ! American innovation at its finest!
Just as simple as that if it would be thinking ahead of time think about it we need this everywhere without a doubt.
This is a wonderful idea
Great idea
Fab Rats approved?
Haha.
Genius
Fantastic idea but I can see thousands of people still lining up for this
How am I supposed to bring my anchor home if I can't put it in the boat after I use it.. hmm?
Nice!
Discovers is doing a lot here, this has been a known method for years.
Now they just need a driving course to teach new boat owners how to back up a trailer. 😂

Easy way to do that job very important to the environment. At a boy😊

Are they edible ?
The dip tank? Prolly not..😅
@@johnb9825 the mussels brother hahahahahahaha
The dip tank is only edible once.
They could easily make this a drive thru.
Lots of commenters saying this. How? without risk flooding the vehicle and the extra engineering cost?
There should be a trough in front of the ramp so that you cant get into the lakes without being decontaminated.
Without being DEcontaminted? That makes zero sense bud.

Sounds like someone is building a case to keep boaters out of lakes…….
If only you could put a sunken jetboat in one of these tanks .😮😮😮
Need to just make it mandatory
"Onwers can back in"...not all of them.
Man start sending it to people by the gallon you'll be rich quick. Heck I'd buy a few gallons now and I don't even got a boat 😅
What about the people with kayaks and paddle boards?
What about quagga mussels being transported by waterfowl
Human activity is far, far more likely to move invasive mussels. Do you have an example of animal mediated quagga mussel spread.
Yes, we shall dip the waterfowl in said tank for 5 minutes before flight. Thanks for your very logical question.
They have their own cleaning system. The DNR is training the first generation of birds to clean themselves. They will teach the next generation
Yes. And they also need to be masked to prevent the next round of BirdFlu. 😷
i hope they charge for this
What is a quagga mussel? only Quagga I know is the southafrican rugby player. 😂
This tank could be a drive through tank no problem, people care too much about having carpet and leather on the inside of their cars 🙄
How much taxpayer money was wasted on figuring out that a puddle of water can clean stuff
That’s not gonna work
I take it you have never watch broncos channel. People can't back a boat up to save their life. Tha thing will be destroyed in a week.
won't work
Still won’t work.
that attitude doesn't get anything done

joke money grab with no idea how this really works. water fowl like ducks and geese are the #1 cause of this problem.
Wow
Waste of tax dollars 💯
