Like many others, this is the game that got me into the Zelda series. I'm not ashamed to say that it was my first because it has opened up an entire series to me which I have never enjoyed more. It's great to be so passionate about a videogame- well anything and have fond memories everytime you play through. The music in the series is probably the most loved of any game franchise and I don't need to explain why. Wind Waker's soundtrack was phenomenal and to me TP's was highly underrated.
A game that got so much hate for being cartoony when it was released... as time passed..... It grew more powerful...... it kept growing, never to stop..... Now as I speak, it's power still grows and never has waned, it has become just like OoT has become, timeless, immortal, and forever bound within the hearts and memories of many Gamers. Ironic how a game that was told it will never succeed and fall to nothingness because of its expressive and colorful appearance... Literally became one of the most recognized titles alongside the gods of ALttP, OoT, and MM and so many more.
+Kioko Fulgarion They were all parts of our lives and helped shaped us a little bit as human beings. It may sound a little weird but it makes me happy reading comments like yours. I feel connected with so many people that I don't even know and I know that a large part of the n64/gamecube Zelda franchize fans all share this need to be kind to fellow human beings. The music, the atmosphere and task that all these games gave us made us all little heroes from the inside back when we didn't know what was ahead of us. Never forget that you're the hero of your own story and do right where you can !
+V1nc3B "Never forget that you're the hero of your own story and do right where you can!" .....I needed to hear those words, that quote is going to forever echo in my mind.... I know so many broken down people who have lost themselves, who have yet to hear that, you know what's more? these people were all fans of Zelda since its age of glory, the N64/Gamecube era. I bet listening to this and having those words told to them. It may just be like giving a wounded person a fairy, like Link did with his broken down grandma....:')
I love ocean travel themed adventures(Wind Waker, One Piece, etc). This game had such a huge impact on me growing up. I love it so much, and the HD version is more than I could have dreamed of. I would buy a Wii U just for that game, much like I did the Gamecube for the original.
My God, the picture at 4:02 is just great. I really wish I could go back to those good old days. My brothers huddled around me watching me play and they loved it, almost like a weekly t.v. show for them, and it took me such a long time to beat it that when I finally did, we didn't know what to do. Told my little brother, "Well now it's your turn and I'm gonna watch." 9 years down the road, and all I'm wishing for is to go back to that.
Good lord, those strings added at 1:10 make the main theme *really* stand out. Also that Irish influence with the use of strings, bagpipes, flutes and mandolin and throughout the soundtrack is amazing.
i finished the game today for the first time ever and...im proud to say that i teared up listening to the credit songs, watching the bubbles pass by with the people i met on my journey, seeing Link try and reach for Daphnes, and seeing the ending. I applaud this game, one of the games where i actually got up from my seat and clapped. A true masterpiece, one of the best games ever
112 people were lifetime supporters of Ganon who all became indubitably angry and depressed by his down fall in the ending of the game from which this song originates :D
the wind waker is an amazing game, personally one of my favorite zelda games and one of the best games i have ever played, the music is amazing, the story is deep, the graphics are beautifull and the gameplay is alot of fun, i have played this game 6 times and i never get tired of it, is simply that amazing, hell i love everything about this game, even the sailing, i'm so glad skyward sword didn't tried to be another twilight princess, the more unique the better
The soundtrack for this game is extremely incredible. I'm 17 years old, but when I heard this song I cried ... Remembered the good times when I spent hours trying to finish a puzzle. My friends would play Zelda with me in my house ... miss it. Zelda games are perfect, I can not find any fault until today, seriously
I know exactly how you feel, im 28 now and my first Zelda game was Link to the Past back in 1996. Doesn't matter how old I get, these games bring me right back to that 12 year old boy who played Zelda for the very first time.
Evey time I hear this song, I start crying like a baby because I grew up with Zelda and I LOVED this game soooo much. It brings back memories of beating it for the first time and celebrating with icecream :) This is a masterpeice.
Well, we ARE getting an HD remake :P Seriously, this is a great year for Zelda. We're getting the Oracle games on the 3DS eShop, we're getting a brand new 3DS game which is a sequel to ALttP, we're getting a brand new Wii U Zelda, AND an HD remake of Wind Waker... all that's missing is a Majora's Mask remake xD ...and a Zelda II remake ;)
@DevilRebellion IKR!! THAT warm feeling. Like, he's no longer the lone wolf with no one. he acutally starts with someone, fights for them, and when it's over they are there. That's probably one fo the mainfactors why i loed this game so much xD
This game is a mature game. To the immature, it is a cartoony adventure with a unique ending, but it takes one who's truly mature to sense a meaning in the story. The music... so fulfilling, yet its a tune to a new beginning. The whole story itself wraps around the theme "Live for the future, despite the past. The past may have built the future, but what has been built can be altered into what you desire. This is the only way forward."
This is the definition of a good game, not only WW, but ALL of LoZ's They always have a kickass story, long and puzzly gameplay, good controls AND REALLY GOOD MUSIC! I mean like It just gives you the adventurous feeling you need to go against the world!!! GO LINK! YOU BEAT EVERY OTHER GAME!
Best Zelda to me...Lot of emotions, and the ending theme is such a master piece. I'll never forget all these hours spend for this game, real part of my life and I guess for everyone who played to it !
I don't mind the cartoonish look in this game, every Zelda game has it own unique style of gameplay and art. And the thing I love most about Wind Waker is the soundtracks, fits so well with the game and ads more to the experience
I just love this game. Maybe because it's so different fro the other Zelda Games, lika the art style, the music....well. I was in the same age as Link when i started to play it, and Outset Island reminded me of the place where i live in Thailand near the coast....I even had to catch 3 pigs once xDDD Why do i always get this nostalgic feeling when i play certain games....?
aww man.... i loved that part soooo much and it was so sad, after 4 failed atemps*(i know a tipo, i think)and 2 years me and my older sister beat the game. *corrupted memory card
@mahboi1100 I couldn't agree more. We have the power to make our own destiny, We can change our life for the better or worse, its all up to you. But always knwo that its never to late to change for the better.
THATS IT I AM CRACKING OUT THE GAME CUBE AGAIN!! *opens up box and finds wind waker sitting there with the system and controller* god i know myself to well
Hello from 13 years in the future, young me growing up. I know it may seem rough at first, you will keep your head down ignoring the world so no one will notice you. And for that I can't say you should be bold and get out there... I have no right to force you to face your fears. But I will say it will get better, that you will face loneliness not by yourself, but with others who can sympathize with. The world will become a scary place, and that is okay. Because the friends and family on your side makes life a challenge to rise up against, and it will all be worth it. Hang in there, I know you can.
@BlackRaven6695 I know right? People knocked down Wind Waker when it came out cause they didnt like the graphics and all, then look wat happened people started appreciating a new style other then what they were used to seeing as Link. People shouldnt see Link as a one person, one style thing, he is many people and has many styles and I applaud the new style they're bringing in for Skyward Sword. Bravo to Nintendo for trying a new style to an old series, one of the best series for sure
Like many others, this is the game that got me into the Zelda series. I'm not ashamed to say that it was my first because it has opened up an entire series to me which I have never enjoyed more.

Never be ashamed of finding something "later" than others. If you enjoy it that's all what matters.

+Kioko Fulgarion yeah man and the MUSIC :D
+Kioko Fulgarion man i needed that :)
to us who quickly criticized it as kids based on what we seen in commercials, the actual gameplay quickly shut us up&changed our opinions.
This is so beautiful... I hope my children (If i have any) will play this game and enjoy it as much I did.
Same here
Omg yes
It's phenomenal to think this video was released before The Wind Waker *HD* was even a thought.

This game is actually my favorite Zelda too! So many references to OoT and it's the most epic of all! I love the artstyle too!
we all know that this is the best zelda game
Zreo is just so awesome. They one of the best credits themes in zelda (which is saying a lot) even better
I know exactly how you feel, im 28 now and my first Zelda game was Link to the Past back in 1996. Doesn't matter how old I get, these games bring me right back to that 12 year old boy who played Zelda for the very first time.
4:59 THE BEST MOMENT OF THE SONG
I really miss my boat :(
Links ancestors were boats! 😂
The bit with Outset Island's theme in it always gets to me....such a great song...
I played this game when I was 9 or 10 and it's my favourite of all time. This song brings me to tears :'(
so nostalgic
this song is so pretty! I could just listen to it for hours! :D
Damnit, Z.R.E.O! Is there nothing you can not do?!
Evey time I hear this song, I start crying like a baby because I grew up with Zelda and I LOVED this game soooo much. It brings back memories of beating it for the first time and celebrating with icecream :) This is a masterpeice.

...and a Zelda II remake ;)
4:42 This picture is one of my favorites for sure
I luv wind waker, for the story, the characters, and the FLIPPING SOUND TRACK😊 I could fall asleep with this
@DevilRebellion IKR!!
THAT warm feeling. Like, he's no longer the lone wolf with no one. he acutally starts with someone, fights for them, and when it's over they are there. That's probably one fo the mainfactors why i loed this game so much xD
Drove me to tears at the finale. This music piece is immortal.
This is absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks for the music
I love how Zelda's lullaby is played in the middle of the song c:
This is a happy and sad song
Completed the game for the first time yesterday! So much feels!!!
I remember when everyone was freaking out about the graphics and now it's considered one of the best games in the series.
Ahh, good memories. One of my favorite games, dunno why so many people didn't like it.

Best part of this 0:00 - 5:27
What you did there... I see it.
Callum563 Gaming 5:28 *
JailMiner purposely left out one second because endings are bad
i always got emotional during the wind waker credits. one of the best zelda games ever...
Even without playing it myself, this is my favorite zelda, because I was a little kid when I saw my uncle who was 15 back then playing that game :').

“The choir usage was excellent!” (-James)
I LOVE the choir here!!! Stupendous touch!
THis is agreat remix of one of the best zelda songs ever.
This is the definition of a good game, not only WW, but ALL of LoZ's
They always have a kickass story, long and puzzly gameplay, good controls AND REALLY GOOD MUSIC! I mean like It just gives you the adventurous feeling you need to go against the world!!!
GO LINK! YOU BEAT EVERY OTHER GAME!
this feels so nostalgic
@Scaltt Despite a lot of it being sea water, Wind Waker is technically one of the largest open world sandboxes in a video game.
I always start clapping and stamping when I hear this song. It just feels right.
In my opinion, best music in a video game ever.
Best Zelda to me...Lot of emotions, and the ending theme is such a master piece.
I'll never forget all these hours spend for this game, real part of my life and I guess for everyone who played to it !
Wind Waker is one of those few Zelda games where Link actually has some family that's alive. And its the 1st 3D zelda game to have that too.
God, What I wouldn't give to have my school's band and orchestra to play this.
Best Credits Music in all videogame history
I. Love. You. I already loved this song and you made it so good
Well it's an excellent cover, you're very talented.
I don't mind the cartoonish look in this game, every Zelda game has it own unique style of gameplay and art. And the thing I love most about Wind Waker is the soundtracks, fits so well with the game and ads more to the experience
wind waker. my favorite game of all time and ,I know I'll get a lot of flak for this, but I'd say best in the series besides maybe majora.
+Robby C. I disagree on MM.
Evan Czarkowski okay to each their own :)
IMO, MM is one of the worst.
It's called OPINION.
+Evan Czarkowski I know how you feel, I get the same crap whenever I tell someone resident evil 4 isn't my cup of tea
@DevilRebellion Its the first Zelda game to have one of the best overworlds. The world is so huge and theres much to explore.
this forever is the true theme of the hero
Wow, show snot bubble kid was in a pic. Also, I noticed Ayrll's theme and Zelda's Lullaby in the song
When i listen to this, it feels like i listen with my ears and heart. ❤️😊
I just love this game. Maybe because it's so different fro the other Zelda Games, lika the art style, the music....well. I was in the same age as Link when i started to play it, and Outset Island reminded me of the place where i live in Thailand near the coast....I even had to catch 3 pigs once xDDD
Why do i always get this nostalgic feeling when i play certain games....?
i've never played this one...i know its tragic.....but its still my favorite!! i really wanna play it! super excited for the wii u remake!
My 1st legend of zelda game to beat after this it was a link to the past
