Everyone makes weird noises when you first fight those things. Especially if you didn't watch the trailer so the rock just creates portals to hell from which demons emerge
it's been so funny watching new players stumble into this fight. had a brand new scout set one off yesterday and the music kicked in, and the spawns started dropping from the walls, and i just put in the chat "dear god, what have you done?" and the fear was palpable lmao
To me this track sounds primal, like there’s something ancient in Hoxxes’s core, I say mainly because of the drums and chants. Maybe the crawlers were advanced once but something happened to them that caused them to turn into what they are now.
That and, even if they're only tribal, that's still more advanced than the bugs, more aware. Given how the core stone responds to being attacked, it feels to me like whatever's down there is a far more reactive and intelligent threat than the bugs are, particularly given what we know will happen to lead up to Rogue Core.
really glad too. i was very afraid of him leaving with how great of a job he did, but the new sound designer is doing a great job. especially the resonance crystals. they have a very satisfying chime to them
This really slaps hard. It was my first time dealing with core stone rifts, and this track synced its drop at 1:42 perfectly with the area filling up with purple mist, my teammates falling down and me shooting flames in all directions just right after refilling flamethrower tanks
Anyone else thinking that since the Core Crawlers have unique animations compared to the Glyphids that if they get expanded on, it could very well be a means of introducing another faction to fight deeper down the line?
If I had to guess, since every other season is an extension of the previous one, season 6 will introduce the full faction, and probably a new, deeper biome.
@@synkt8759 maybe a separate 3rd deep dive gategory that has all 3 levels in a core biome or something that looks different and more crystally every stage.

This theme gives feelings as if these things are....alien in nature. And by alien i mean not native to Hoxxes at all, but hail from an entirely different plane of existence. I mean they litteraly spawn from rifts that the core stone opens in the walls of the caves. Don't look at those and tell me they arnt Eldritch in some capacity, they have to be!
This event is seriously trivialized when you use ziplines to fight the core crawlers... But there is something about watching your friends drop one by one while this music plays for the first time.
I wish I could've told myself to not take the shard diffractor on my first fight against this thing, the fight was too trivial and in hindsight I shouldn't have killed it so quick haha
Apparently this season is a precursor of the new game Rogue Core, I assume these core stones will be relevant in the new game. Maybe deep within they are doing tests on these stones in some facilities but something goes wrong, then the new elite dwarves come in to play.
Maybe well see a big difference in the gear strength the rogue cores "elite" dwarves have compared to the normal miner teams on the spacerig with how im assuming the core spawn are going to work as the normal grunts of rogue core, or maybe they're just tied to objectives that need swarms triggered like with the corestone we have right now. As currently if you dont have a bunch of slowdown effects or extreme crowd clear and a gunner throwing a shield to allow focus fire on the stone the event will wipe everyone out pretty easily, definetly the most difficult event so far in drg if you dont cheese with zip lines, and I'm hoping they change that because its just kinda lazy to be able to just chill in the sky and never risk anything, maybe they'll be able to stack ontop of eachother to reach you lol.
I love how this track doesn't really fit the drg style entirely. Really helps sell the unnatural feel of whatever lies deeper beneath our mining sites.

My first time fighting this shit was in a Haz 5 dreadnought mission, and I accidentally popped a cocoon during it
a regular swarm with the event is already pretty insane cant imagine a dread lol.
