I put hundreds of hours on a 4166. My uncle owned one. Read the old IHC sales literature about weight distribution when this tractor is pulling a load. If you ever ran one, you would know. It pulled well. It was like driving a tank. Engineering was more refined than competitors , for example versatile of the day. It couldn’t compete with the higher hp tractors, that was its down fall, it was not mechanical. Transmission was pare for the course with the rest of the ihc line up of the 66 series. The higher Hp tractors were truck transmissions from the competitors.
That sure is a picture perfect unit! Couldn’t help but laugh I wouldn’t care how rough the ride it couldn’t beat the smile off my face in the operators station.😊 you hit it on the head with the operator comment. Looking foreword to results thanks
This is my fathers best friends old tractor also my boss i worked many years for. He was born in 1941 and started a heavy duty towing company and shop in 1968 and worked everyday and every night until unfortunately at the age of 80 in 2021 he was Killed by a carless trucker that fell asleep while my boss was towing a rig off of I80 early in the morning. He had many many tractors of different colors and sizes but this and his john deere 8020 were his favorites! I remember one time one of his big old international crawlers wouldn't start so i tried to pull start it with this 4186 and needless to say it broke the one inch thick steel mount we had the chain hooked to on the crawler.. This 4186 was the highest sold 4186 ever to sell at action, his john deere 8020 almost as nice is this one was the 2nd highest 8020 ever sold at auction, his 6030 just as nice was the 4th highest sold 6030 at auction, his 5010 just as nice maybe even nicer was the 5th highest selling 5010 at auction. I had many great memories on these old tractors, just wish he got to enjoy them more at his old age instead of working 24 7. But im glad to see his tractors are still being enjoyed!!
i owned a 4186 an 4166,both had 3pt an pto, they did all the heavy work, from field work to running a big square baler an chopping in the fall never had no issues what so ever,
Excellent video Gino :) like those tractor and never drove ever but man power boom 💥 for sure ! Yes looking forward see goes for on $ price and rest sale too!
We should get our 4186 running again. Although it's true they are a rougher ride than a 4366, they are a lot smoother than any 2 wheel drive. We have lots of 41 series tractors here and I never heard any drive train problems. I've not only experienced this but heard it from others: They aren't much less tractor than the 4366. They pull like crazy. I am sure I have seen videos of that particular tractor at a Red Power Roundup. 4186s are seldom restored, and they don't have the "Turbo " decal like the 66s do (or as this one does,) the IH decals on the wheels are added and the 3 point and PTO makes me think it's that very tractor.
I got a 4186 a week ago at an estate auction. I got it running after a 10 year rest to load it on the truck. We have a lot of others that could use your talent and cando attitude up here in Canada. You would be stationed an hour from the inland sea called Lake Winnipeg. I have navigated it in a 75 foot steel hull in sun and rain with a 50 knot breeze (first time) but I am just a farm boy who doesn't know a marine from a seal from a sailor. Come show us what it takes. Thank you for your service.
Hey FF. I would have no use for it, but man how cool would it be to own this cool tractor. Can’t wait for the results video. I am definitely suspensefully engaged.
Nice tractor. It would be nice to see how much it goes for. I won't be able to be on line in time for the auction. If you go and post a video, then I will see it. See you soon in the next one.
I bought a 4166 with the exterior roll bar at an auction with freshly rebuilt motor back in the 80's. Only used for fall and spring primary tillage. Pulled a 7 shank Glencoe chisel in the fall and an 18 ft 470 disk to open fields in the spring. PTO connection was never connected. Used the crab steer occasionally, tires were never fully straight. I can't remember but it turned 1 way better than the other.
I was about to beg you to check the hours. That's got to be an emaculate restoration. If not that was one well cared for beast. I've disked freshly plowed ground with an M before and the only tractor worse for me was that 33 Massy Harris without power steering. Arm breaker for sure. It'd rip the steering wheel right out of your hands. I tried to be careful about my thumbs on it.
Triple State is also the one running Rohrer trucking auction next month. My AC is still more versatile than a side by side.😁 Bid is up to $11k on line for the 4186.
Good day FF Boy nice looking. even bolts are new looking on fenders...They do not bring a good dollar up here. This one might because complete overhaul. Thanks
Have you thought about just saving up your money, so you can get a Honda 4-wheeler with the footshift transmission, so you won't ever have trouble again? I ride my foot shift ones through stock dams and the river and have never had any problems with the foot shift transmissions. We bought our 1992 Fourtrax when it was only 1 year old and then I also bought my 2006 and 2008 Ranchers brand new and these will last me the rest of my life.
What do you mean? The exhaust pipe is over at the right hand side. Besides you can see clearly ahead. If it was me working with it I would have no problem at all with both the exhaust and air stacks.
October 27th is the auction in Angelica New York Archie Mason's fall auction don't know if you travel that far New Jersey real good one in the prices are reasonable
I own one of those, but it don't look like that. Don't use it much anymore. Don't do any tillage anymore. Hasn't been running for over a year. Just sits in the back corner of the shed.
That 4186 is an ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS TRACTOR!!

Short and Sweet to the point! Good Job!
Some decent stuff. Pretty tractor. You finally did it! 🎉🚨🚀💥🚜🔥👍🍻
Yeah I got tired of being reminded every time I logged in on the computer
Looking forward to seeing what the tractor goes for, it's nice and clean.
That was a really nice looking restore job on the 4186. Take care.
Definitely
That's a great looking tractor. Would be nice seeing that working. All the best 🇬🇧.
I saw a few of these out in Washington state when I went out in July, really cool tractor. Neat to see one in our home state Farmall
Yeah they definitely have their place
Amazing red power , thanks FF
That's a killer tractor! I hope you get it! Something that nice may deserve another custom keychain.
Ahahahahahahaha yep
Wow clean 4186 ! 👍🇺🇸
That machine is stunning. You NEED that FF.
Yeah i'm just trying to figure out at what price... Some collector will run it up
We love you man, red power.

Meaning you will just let us rust to death. Should. Change to can. Yes retired Marine here.

That's one beautiful piece of Red Power 💥 💪💪💪 reckon it would be quite collectable 👍
Hey FF. I would have no use for it, but man how cool would it be to own this cool tractor. Can’t wait for the results video. I am definitely suspensefully engaged.
Persistence is a virtue Duncan . I have created a position on our wee acreage for a decent original 4186 and brought it home this past week.
Man, you need that machine, just to park in front of the JD dealer. It is sweet, isnt it? Have a nice day, Bill
Tis
It looks like you would have to haul it on a 18 inch deck height lowboy to stay under 13.6 height what do you think? Bill@@FarmallFanatic
I’m thinking you’re giving it some thought! You’d look good in it!
YOUR DREAM TRACTOR!!
Nice tractor. It would be nice to see how much it goes for. I won't be able to be on line in time for the auction. If you go and post a video, then I will see it. See you soon in the next one.
Thanks for explanation. On big tractor.

That sounds about right

That tractor looked great!
What gorgeous tractor, would look great with a snow plow blade pushing snow up here where i live in Northern Ontario 🇨🇦
That's what i've seen them used for here... plowing out entire mall parking lots
Its Auction time again ❤💪🏼❤Red Power
The "Beast"should bring some tall coin.
What a cherry 🍒 4186 !
Hello Gino yes that tractor looks awesome. If I could I'd buy. Interested to see how much it goes for. See you then.
right on
It will be interesting to see what this rarity brings...
That is one tight rig💥🇺🇸😂
I wonder what the turning radius is on that tractor
Crab steering

This one might because complete overhaul. Thanks
Too many transmission problems
About 3yrs ago our neighbor bought a 4100 I think what it was and it was yellow? Very interesting early 4x4 tractor
Somebody got a great deal on that tractor.
Definitely

No not now that I have completely replaced the transmission. Although I probably would buy a foot shift next time
...4186... PICK UP STICKS.... BOOOOOOOOM..!!!
BRIM!!
Man i would love spend a 12 hr day on that tractor.
Why the mfg place the exhaust in the middle of windshield? Nice looking ride though.

Any idea on what price it will fetch?
I wouldn't doubt twenty
They been dragging that tractor around all summer.
What do you mean
@@FarmallFanatic they have had that 4186 at several auctions this summer and it hasn't sold yet never get high enough
Top of the line unit. Price it will bring anyone's guess. BTW. The other day I saw a 340 for sale not too far from you.
Where at?
Zip Code 16350 Sugar Grove. Saw it on F B 3-4 weeks ago Wanted 2200 for it. Didn't look bad. Probably gone by now.
@@FarmallFanatic
@@robertlong7033 Oh i'm sure it is

This tractor pull a corn chopper to make silage.... If the owner has one...
In the mud
@@FarmallFanatic always
If i only won a big lottery.
I believe that tractor to be a 4166 not a 4186
You mean someone mislabled it... What makes you say that
The styling is all wrong for a 86 series
I think that 4186 will bring 25000
I do too
Rough rides ruin your spine.
So does playing football in wrestling but I did that too
It wants to go home with you
Not rare are more of them out there
Not in this condition
8k...... sorry.... im cheap I aint joining crap...
Good...I don't want you to
