First of all my middle name is Elaine😊. I actually haven’t watched any nomad videos in awhile but I know you weren’t full at one point but are full time now
Well as always a great video and very educational for us old timers getting into the traveling experience. I finally sold the bus now I'm looking for a van ,I found one with a high top so I can stand bad back so I need to be able to stand. Now all I need is for the guy to accept my offer lol😁🤷 I can't thank you enough for your videos and this one was very educational to me God bless you stay safe stay strong stay healthy but if everything enjoy life,👍👏✌💪💖🍳🎅🚌🌻
Hey Elaine! It's always fun to see how everyone 'does' vanlife! I don't know if my future holds a van, mini or otherwise, but I always pick up new ideas for both my RVs and my car camper while watching. You've done a great job of building your nest!
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉Travel Grandma! Love you! Love your hightop! I'm getting one. Putting my down payment Monday May 1st! I have a question for you: Did you do the wood around the bottom on the inside. I thought I should do that to help attach a curtain or something. Did you do that? If not, could you hang a curtain to separate the front cab and the back? Thank you!!!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank for the tips, I live in a class A RV, but I'm stationary, I'm constantly remodeling and making it my own ..these tips are helpful even for someone who is not traveling 🙂 but I'm planning to keep my class A as my base camp..
Love your set up. I was quite impressed with your headliner, below your extended roof. You’re quite good with the carpentry skills. Amazing space you created. Thank you for sharing your set-up. You did a great job being detail-oriented.
Elaine love love love your van Tour it looks beautiful. Great video. I'm looking forward to when we can camp together again. What size was your solo camp stove? You gave me some good ideas to help with my van build. Hope you're having fun. See ya down the road :-)
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour Elaine. I hope you feel better soon. I’m going to use your window screen idea for sure. Still love the your swing around table. Hope to find a way to put one in my minivan. I saved the video for reference. It has so many good ideas. I’m looking forward to camping with you again. Safe travels💕
HI Elaine! Thanks for your van tour....I have been waiting for it ever since you had the high top installed. I sure like the idea of being able to stand up in your van now. You continue to bring useful and interesting tips and tricks to your followers....I appreciate them. I am curious to know if Fiberine offered any recommendations on how to do the finish work inside?
No, they only manufacture and install their high tops. Most of the time, they just take the old roof completely off to where you don't have the old roof as shelving. You still have a bit of a lip inside as part of the way they seal it though. You can have them add wood along the sides and top too to where you can attach cabinets. I didn't go that route because I wanted to keep my heating and air conditioner intact. And the shelving was so much easier this way. But no they don't have or recommend any carpenters to finish the interior for you.
Such a wonderful job on your van. I can’t believe how much stuff you’re able to fit into your van. Great use of every inch. Happy travels and can’t wait to see you down the road again.
I was wondering if you could just add more poo gel to a bucket with it already in there and if it would still absorb. Mystery solved. Thanks! Oh, also VERY curious how much a fiberglass high top cost to have and install.
Travel Grandma, You stated your fridge is 48QT. On the link it doesn't list 48QT option. Also, Does your fridge use the option of shore power and 12V ? Have you put ice trays in the freezer ? If so which ones do you use ?
I am looking for a tent that attaches to the sliding door (side) of a minivan. The hatchback tent uses the handle of both sliding doors-are you still able to use the doors? Thx
What Campground in Flagstaff allows van camping without tent ? Does it have a bathhouse? Thinking of heading out west next month, first van trip. Thanks for videos
None of the companies that do this for a living finish the inside. They only cut & put the top on. Now I’ve never seen one look this way. Is it because you told them not to cut all the way over on both sides because of the vents? Also, I’m curious if they came back out to recut after you changed your mind?
3:15 I hate when people put words on the screen like this. I am listening and crocheting and usually by the time I realize there are words on the screen I miss them and I have to stop crocheting and rewind the video in order to see what was said.
I remember your first video of you camping alone. You go girl!
Thanks Lisa
I love how you use the stove for a campfire! 🏕👑🏕
You’re delightful! Thank you for giving us the tour of your home and for sharing all your great ideas. Blessings on your travels!
Thank you
That sheet thing is brilliant 👏
I've since finally bought a trifold mattress and the same sheet fits very well on it too.
I watched every minute of this video and enjoyed it immensely. I love your can-do spirit.
Oh thank you David. Glad you enjoyed it.
Insulation in the gaps, between, new & old rooftop! Then put ur boards!
Great idea to have that raised roof! Post cost effective compared to retrofitting a cargo van.
I love it.
Thanks for the detailed of your built.😍
Glad you like it!
I love your carpet and tailgate tent. Thanks for the tour, lots of good ideas, but most of all thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you for watching.

Thanks Deb. Looking forward to seeing you in June.
I'd likely still been married to my first husband if he had allowed me to do what you are doing.

Great ideas! Van looks nice and also cozy and comfortable 😎
Thank you

Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
You did really good getting that bike out. I’m impressed 😊
It seems so much stiffer than my other ebike was. Maybe I should try adding WD40.
I would love to do that to my van. I love want you did. The camera that attaches to your rear view mirror I need to buy it. Where did you get it

They have different sizes. Mine is one of the smaller ones.
I really enjoyed your incredible van tour 👍 Thank you for sharing such great tips 😀 you got such a lot of stuff stacked in xx
And here I thought I am a minimalist. I really do use everything I have in my van.

I'd love to camp with you again too. Keep in touch.
Great tour!! I'm happy you've decide to do a 6 month road trip. Maybe I'll have a better chance of meeting up with y'all. 😊🙋♀️
Just keep in touch. Have a great time in Oregon.
I love your video thank you so much for the information on how to do a van build
Glad it was helpful!

You are welcome. GlD you found them helpful.
Amazing ❣️thank you 💞
Great video Elaine🎉❤
Thank you Debbie. So excited to see you in a few days.
@@TravelGrandma i know, im excited too ❣️
How tall are you? I am 5'4" and like the idea of standing. Love all the storage room you acquired too.
I'm almost 5'5". Seem to be shrinking about a half inch lately.
Which company did you use for your topper on the grand caravan
I was wondering if you could just add more poo gel to a bucket with it already in there and if it would still absorb. Mystery solved. Thanks! Oh, also VERY curious how much a fiberglass high top cost to have and install.
Hi! I’m getting ready to make the journey to fiberine. I was wondering what your gas mileage is now.
Cannot find your books on Amazon. What author are you listed as?
❤❤❤
What’s your secret , you look younger! Lots of great infos. Thank you.
Losing a little weight.
Travel Grandma, You stated your fridge is 48QT. On the link it doesn't list 48QT option. Also, Does your fridge use the option of shore power and 12V ? Have you put ice trays in the freezer ? If so which ones do you use ?
The link offered is for all sizes you can choose from. I use regular 16.9 oz water bottles using a freeze setting on the refrigerator.
@@TravelGrandma ??

Yes, but the tent collapses a bit in the process.
This tent fits on the side of your car. A friend of mine has one and loves it. amzn.to/3OFXttX
@@TravelGrandma thank you 👍
I like your privacy touch but I didn’t catch the brand. Could you please share that with me
O put a link to all the products I showed and more that I use in the description. Glad you like the privacy tent.
very cosy, do you have any fire extinguishers?
Yes
I know those pj's anywhere!
I know you do. Hope to see you when I'm in Colorado.
What Campground in Flagstaff allows van camping without tent ? Does it have a bathhouse? Thinking of heading out west next month, first van trip. Thanks for videos
I am not familiar with Flagstaff. Try using one of the campsite apps. Good luck to you.
@@TravelGrandma thank you
Over $5k to still have to do all this work?! Oh heck to the no-no!! I certainly wouldn’t have paid that much for them to only do half the job!!
Buy another van for that

Hello I know you had you roof time put on a while ago my question is it presenting with any leaks or problem.
No leaks. The company I went with, Fiberine.com, does some unique called a reverse flange to where it won't leak
Luv the high top. Does any of your stuff fall when driving? Great amount of storage
No it doesn't fall. My sides are about 4" high all around.
That’s super nice. You don’t have to rearrange things to drive😊
Did the high top impact your gas mileage?
No. I don't think it does.
I didn't know you wear wigs !
Sometimes for fun I do.
