And with this, I have recapped every Castlevania game from every timeline (that counts) and another battlefield conquered. Thank you to everyone who was there for every near-sandwich experience and every descent into deadly dungeons. I am glad I did this playlist and look forward to seeing you on the next battlefield.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 is my favorite game in history today since its magnificent launch on consoles PS3, Xbox 360 and PCs, I love hacking slash with open world RPG exploration, Castlevania City and Dracula's Castle, Gabriel Belmont transformed into Dracula and Trevor Belmont as Alucard battling Both united against Satan'Lucifer and his Acolytes, as well as Zobek The Grim "Death" Reaper himself... And I don't care about the opinion of any fan critic who criticizes this masterpiece of gameplay, combat, and upgrades, the story of the trilogy concluded with a flourish, stealth sessions that I'm passionate about, a story that makes a lot of sense, yes, anyone who doesn't understand is totally imbecile crude, tacky, weird , media illiterate and stupid... It's a game Really perfect and I don't care if anyone's opinion goes against mine... Best three-dimensional game in history, not just the Castlevania saga...
The first one was a very good surprise, it gave me a brake form Bayonetta and the ending left me so excited... I think Lords of Shadow, both of them, are the best 3D incarnations of Castlevania.
Konami dropping the ball on their iconic IPs? Surely you jest sir (but seriously, yeah... crazy how so many xb360/ps3 games look way better than XBS/PS5 games today with their art style alone)
@@OniBlackMage It's not just the graphics necessarily, but even the direction and the camera work of the cutscenes and such is impressive to me. I don't even remember why, but I have this vague sense of thinking I should avoid these games back then. It isn't even like I missed out on them or that they didn't market them, but that I actively had a negative impression of them. They must've misrepresented them somehow.
Hi Oni, appreciate the recaps! Sorry if it's been asked, but do you have any plans to cover the Raidou Kuzunoha games? Your SMT recaps got me into it but after Nocturne I'm dying to know the deal with Raidou but there's literally no recaps out there except 8 and 15 hour movies 😂
This story needed some main games in-between where he loses. The story is like self insert Dracula fanfiction. It could work if they had actually let him lose to the Belmonts or anyone legitimately instead of this weird slavish thing. Like somehow he's god chosen while being evil. That makes no sense. They literally have to beg him to lose.
He lost to Simon and Alucard in Mirror of Fate. This continuity would probably work better with more games in between though, yes. Either way the ending feels weird.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that was super excited to play this game, but was very disappointed. Tragically also Victor being the last living Belmont gets killed unceremoniously
I agree. I adore LoS1 and thought MoF was pretty good... I feel the departure in design choices that made LoS1 so good were dropped in favor of things that made IGAvanias popular (almost no puzzles, less action, continuous world layout, backtracking to ability-gated exploration, and IGA's iconic dumping on Belmonts) and was a massive step down for it. That said, I do like the redemption story motif and the father-son reconciliation in the end.

Rarely have I been so disappointed by a sequel. The first one was really enjoyable, the second was good for a "filler" portable tie-in, but part three was just awful. To be fair, it all went downhill after they decided to sell the true ending to part one as DLC.
This game was rather boring. The enemy types were rather plain, the acting was either over dramatic or just annoying, and I didn't like those instant kill enemies that plauged those forced stealth sections (those guys are designed to be stronger than the bosses for some reason). Now, this is officially the entire Castlevania game series since after this, the franchise becomes either pachinko machines or a Netflix animated series.
I remember being so disappointed in this game lol by the last third of the game, I was forcing myself to finish it just to see how it ends. This reboot had so much potential but ended up so disappointing.
I completely disagree, because this hacking game Slash with RPG exploration photography artistic direction CGI is extremely competent, Story with plot narrative plot Absolutely immersive, robust and fast-paced with truly magnificent gameplay, infinitely surpasses the classic saga of all games easily

I hate you recapped it with Alucard's part first, because it was quite the reveal at the end of the game. That said, I understand why.
colossally grateful!

Ah yes the latest episode of "Keeping up with the Belmonts."

LoS1 is easily peak 3D Castlevania for sure
That Konami dig was funny af 😂
All of these games look way better than I realized. Konami really shit the bed on marketing them.

I'm with you there, the cinematography is pretty good in a lot of scenes for this game @@Kasaaz
Like to see this games STILL getting love
I loved these games and wish they were on PS5 not including cloud streaming.
Been a while I saw you on my feed
BELMONTS CAN'T NEVER CATCH A BREAK. 💀

Yes, I have every intention to cover both Raidou games as well as more SMT in general. Please look forward to it
Ahh yes, Castlevania Rising: Revengeance.
man, LoS2 is a wild ride. Not a very good ride, nor all that fun, but certainly wild.
The music is good tho, an OST worth buying imo

Glory to Mage-Kind.
What's next for Oni Black Mage? Are you doing the new Xenogears content? Focusing on FF14? or something else entirely?
Working on FF14 stuff stuff atm but I still have a bunch more series to top off. I'll focus on the ones closer to being done.

the fact that this is the last castlevania ever released is sad
this game sucks
