    Hope the “no animatronics” rumor is not true. There’s no projection effect I’ve seen so far that’s as realistic a substitute as a fully built animatronic. Until full-blown holograms become feasible, animatronics will be the best.

      How could disney possibly miss the opportunity to have a cute talking raccoon animatronic entertain guest in line. It would be sure to increase the sales of $50 stuffed raccoons 10,000% as guests are dumped into the gift shop after the ride. Saving money with a projection would be a massive example of false economy especially when they already have one engineered in CA they simply need to program for this purpose. th-cam.com/video/DTUdgJVkq_Q/w-d-xo.html

      @@ricardoreyna5395 Rise employs BOTH animatronics and projections in its preshows so that is a good mix. I think they nailed it in terms of the ratio of screens to live set pieces on that ride overall for sure. Hope they use that as a model for other rides in the future.

    This is so sad. Disney is chasing Universal instead of being cutting edge. This ride is just like Gringotts ride and Rattituei is just like Spider-Man. So so sad!!!

    • @MattMcIrvin
      @MattMcIrvin 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The ride system is a bit different from Gringotts--the Gringotts cars can only rotate when they're in a relatively slow-moving section, because they don't have onboard energy storage and need to have good contact with a power source. The result is that Gringotts is mostly a slow dark ride with some coaster elements at the beginning. These have onboard capacitors that let them rotate at speed, for what it's worth. it's the next generation of the same kind of thing.

    I don't have any sense of excitement for this attraction. If it's anything like the recent attractions to Disney parks, I suspect it'll be at best, mediocre. It also continues to annoy me that Disney announced this as a new and innovative ride system. It's quite literally Vekoma's version of the Gringotts ride system, and for Disney to market it as something unique to their parks is condescending.

    • @roxynano

    • @genericnoone9610
      @genericnoone9610 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's literally what I've been thinking! But even Gringotts, in all it's screen based mediocrity, & ball-crushing restraints; at least gives you animatronics & (actually pretty amazing) theming in the pre-show area!
      Whereas this looks to be even *more* disappointing somehow....Disney has one-upped themselves once again!
      (seriously after the billion dollar Galaxy's Edge & ROTR, the execs must've slashed the budget for new rides or something)

    • @PoseidonEntertainment
      @PoseidonEntertainment 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@genericnoone9610 Galaxy's Edge was so exorbitantly expensive and it doesn't even feel like the money is there. At 5,000 feet, it would be not only be the longest indoor rollercoaster, but one of the longest period.

    • @MattMcIrvin
      @MattMcIrvin 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RCDB lists it as the 14th longest coaster in the world, not counting alpine coasters (really a different category of ride) or demolished rides.
      (13th if we don't count the non-operating Ultimate at Lightwater Valley, but under the circumstances I'm not ready to call that a defunct ride yet.)
      The longest coaster I've ever personally ridden is Superman at Six Flags New England, a ride that looks absolutely colossal. This thing will be slightly longer than Superman. It will be shorter than Incredicoaster/California Screamin' but only by a few hundred feet.

  • @shiraparaguas9273
    @shiraparaguas9273 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The record of the longest indoor roller coaster is already held by Vekoma with the "crazy Bats" formerly "Temple of the Night Hawk" formerly "Space Center" roller coaster at Phantasialand in Germany. Many fans of the park think that the coaster is still standing only because it is so far the longest in the world and it runs quite smoothly all thought the coaster is old. Many wondered why a third re-theming took place a few years ago. People were really waiting for it to be torn down. But since the world record was still there and the ride is fun (only the theming was very bad on Temple of the Night Hawk), it was probably never razed to the ground. So when Cosmic Rewind opens, the record goes to Florida and Disney after 34 years.
    Alicia I love your content!!! 🤩🌈😍

    Disney takes sooooooo long to build rides, even pre pandemic.
    It is worth the wait, but they are soooo cheap with labour amounts considering how much money the parks bring in.
    But I guess when millions of guests keep turning up every year no matter what, and the number 1 compliant is crowds, I can see why they don’t need to rush them.
    Great video as always, and I pray this is open in May when I go 🇬🇧

    Sounds like it will have a feel similar to Universal's Gringott's ride 😍
