Hi Matt, My name is John Muse and I’m 58 and getting ready to get the gastric sleeve surgery, hopefully in the next month or so and watching you and your journey is so motivating for me. I save all your blogs and watch them as motivation while I wait for my day to come. I’m absolutely amazed at your progress with your weight loss and I’m hoping to have the same success. At this point of my life, I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and I feel absolutely horrible and I’m embarrassed to be seen in public. I don’t even let my friends and family see me cause I always feel like everyone is staring at me and judging me and the way I look. Well I just wanted to say hi and I’ll let you know how things go with my weight loss journey.
Matt you have been a blessing brother I'm at the beginning stage .. I have a 7 year old and I'm 50 so yeah this was the nail in the coffin no punt ..ha ...but your an amazing warrior brother! God bless you and thank you for being a brother to all of us who can't even wipe our own butts yeah being morbidly obese sucks.
You Look Great .. Great Motivation and Inspiration .. * yoda voice “You are” ..God bless you and yours ...and Happy 15 Birthday to your son May God bless him with many many more
As soon as I saw you, I thought you looked super skinny, and I was worried. I am super glad that you are taking care of yourself and I appreciate your words of wisdom. Also, congrats on your job!!!!!
I have my first appointment this Thursday. Insurance states 6 months of indepth testing and weight program before they will approve the surgery. But im going to see what I can do. I have a lot to learn and many bad habits to break. But thank you for sharing your progress
We’re you able to get off all the medication that you were on before your surgery I’m going through the steps now I have 2 more visits with doctor and then scheduled for September for the sleeve surgery I really want to do it but I’m nervous about it just trying to prepare myself for what’s to come
@@timwilks500 i have been following you since the beginning and im very impressed with your progress and hard work and dedication as for me im tired of being tired and not being able to enjoy life with my wife, kids and grandbabies i want and need to be healthy for myself and them
Man if you lost close to 200lbs and thats your loose skin. I won't have any problem losing 100 lbs and dealing with loose skin. Thanks for sharing this video. I'm from Canada and vsg bypass is covered by the health system here. But the wait time is so long that I'm actually thinking of alternatives.
How long did you have to wait? I’m in Toronto and just had my orientation and got my appointments for the next 5 months, mine are all virtual thankfully!! How has your journey been??
@@BrianZimmermanisnice It went well, thanks. My doc took out my gallbladder along the way. It was fatty and swollen, it was bothering me at times. For now, I decided not to take my vitamins and exercise much. Ones I get my fluids to stabilize then I will. Other than that I feel good, no nausea, vomiting, or any problem holding down fluids.
I like your no horse_____ style. I roll the same way. Looks like you're in the PacNW, too, amusingly enough as am I (Kirkland, in my case). My surgery is scheduled for August 10, 2020 w/a top doctor in Tijuana, it's one way to save costs and receive equal or better care vs. American practitioners. They have you three days in thier modern hospital; many/most are not fly-by-night outfits. Guessing there are c. ten well-regarded, well-referenced, highly educated doctors who complete weight loss surgeries primarily for Americans down there in Tijuana in-particular. There are God knows how many shady outfits; best to keep clear of them and the difference A to B is patently obvious during pre-op and doing your research. Anyway, you've answered the interesting question, "is it possible to sail on by 'goal weight' and lose too much." Not giving you a hard time, btw, just echoing what you mentioned. We both start(ed) about same weight, I'm a bit lighter but not much and also lose weight well by following instructions. Thanks to your comments I'll be very cognizant of hydration, uh, forever. Do you have an ND handy? I do, she's going to be part of my journey on a monthly basis for nutritional advice. I enrolled her in the process, she's all for it with a few VSG patients. May want to try-same. I personally have various shakes that taste great, sorry you can't get those down. Hope it works out. Circling back around, your style resonates since we're so similar in age, outlook, etc. and will be very curious if I end up in a similar place in 2021. Please post updates on-occasion.
