The emotional side is tough for me too. One day I’m up after seeing the pounds melt away but miss eating what I want when I want. Get prepared emotionally. These videos are super helpful.

My surgery is in three hours. I've been watching your videos for the last five weeks. I've probably seen each video at least four times. I've been feeling very uneasy about today's surgery all weekend. This video has really helped. Thanks for all the videos!

I am 5 years post-op and had about a year and a half to prepare due to insurance requirements. I still wasn't prepared for a looooong stall, the head hunger, the physical hunger (which my surgeon said I would never have again) or the dumping/vomiting from eating the wrong foods or eating too much. It is a long process to find the right combination of things that work for you because we are all physiologically different. Just keep taking things one day at a time. We're here to help you along the way!!

I have followed you since your time of the Biggest Loser. I struggle right there with you. I just want to say that I am proud of you. It takes a lot of courage to admit fear, struggles, pain, and all those emotions and all the good stuff too...I'm in Marshfield WI, and if you're ever here (i think you have family here) I would love to meet you and Susie! I love you guys. You got it this time!.

Hi Matt. I’m a fan. You and Suze did a good job on the show back in 2005. I liked “The Biggest Loser.” You helped inspired me from season 2 and the show has helped me live a leaner, healthier life. Thank you man. How much weight did you ultimately gain after you won at the finale almost 20 years ago? Was it at least 130lbs from what I read? How much weight have you lost since the surgery? Are you back at 182lbs? Hang in there buddy. Good luck to you and Suzy. 👍🏻

I see an addiction therapist bi weekly. I saw her almost weekly going up to it. You have to mourn the loss of food and what it was to you. About a month in I was freaking out. You will do great and your adorable family will help you!

Hey man I just want to thank you for your help today marks my 1st week official week post op. I must say I wasn’t prepared for the emotional toll it takes on you and that’s my biggest problem now.

Great insight Matt - I’m four weeks post surgery and know that the head stuff is the biggest challenge. Stay positive and keep striving - we deserve to be fit!

I guess I'm lucky. I had my surgery yesterday, I'm home today, and I have absolutely had no desire for any food. No looking in cupboards or the fridge. My wife could make up a feast, and I wouldn't eat it.
