    thanks so much for showing this. my car did not have the same problem but i did have the immobiliser light on. then I noticed that you pushed the start button without your foot on the break and it seemed to re set it so i tried it and it worked. thanks again

      @RENAULT your designers should be shot at dawn...I have never worked on a more counter-intuitive auto-electrical system: I will NEVER recommend your vehicles and will actively campaign to stop anyone from buying a car from your company
      My advice is
      (1) Patience Wet fusebox makes for multiple faults - you can ignore many
      (2) Never buy a Renault, or a car with an immobiliser
      (3) Don't believe everything you see on TH-cam or read in the forums but see:

    Thank you so much for putting this video on i had the RAC trying to find out why my car wouldn't start and ended up not fixing it .. i spent less time and effort and found a wire almost in the same place as on the video broken so a simple repair to that wire and .. wow car fixed and running.. thank you thank you thank you saved me so much money on any garage or auto electrician fixing it

    Hello i have dacia duster 1.5 dci 2015 . Seems to have immobiliser fault. Df009 df024 df280 its registered on diagnostics. Car will crank and no start . If i disconnect any engine sensors they will register a fault but they will not clear none of the faults clear . We have checked relays and fuses .

    Great explanation. I got exactly the same symptoms with my Dcenic. No cranks, immobiliser light keeps on, fuel pressure low, hand brake failure etc. Wish I can locate the faulty the same way.

    thanks for the vid....a question I have perhaps you can help us out, we bought a Scenic, 2005 model, and it was all good at first, for the first week, we were happy about the car.... no problems, then a dashboard warning light, and beeping noise came on , saying "recharge battery".....so we went to the local garage immediately, and the mechanic tested the battery, said it was a "very weak battery", that we "needed a new one", so we got it, spent 140 euros, and drove away, and the light came back on again, so we drove back to the garage, this time the guy said it was, in fact, "the alternator, not charging the new battery", so, a very expensive repair job, here in France, where parts are very pricey.....The mechanic suggested that we go back to the guy who sold us the car to inquire......So we went back the guy we bought the car from , told him what was happening, and he seemed "very surprised".......and so, he said, that he would put in a "new alternator", at no cost to us...I felt like our problem was over......He came over, took the car back to his house, for 3 hours, where he placed a "reconditioned" alternator, not a brand "new" one, and he drove it back to our place, saying the light STILL comes on, even though he is 100 percent certain the previously used, reconditioned alternator he installed is "working" ..and really IS charging the battery.....So we are stuck , with a warning light, and beeping noise, saying "battery recharge", so why is this happening ? From the "reconditioned" alternator malfunctioning? Or is it a much bigger problem, like a short in the wiring system hidden away somewhere in the car? Or is it that the computer light itself is just giving us a "false warning" , because IT is malfunctioning? Can you or anyone out there offer any advice, other than "sell the car"....(and take a big loss)? Because now, with this light permanently on, we cannot sell it for shit. We just are out 2000 euros on this piece of shit......and I am about ready to strangle the guy who sold it to us. THANKS for any advice you can give.

      All of that, and you never mentioned what voltage you have with the engine running...
      Looks like parts are being replaced with no testing/diagnose at all!
      The typical parts cannon method...
      Next...
      Measure the voltage at the battery with the engine running... should be above 14 volts...

    Hi. I've got a Renault Kango. Like you described in this video, there is no response on the engine Ecu and the immobilizer lamp is on constantly, can't connect to engine Ecu, I have checked all pins and I do get some volts on that but don't know how many it has to be on each one pin, in your case it was 5 volts, but how could I know how much volts it has to be, is that some map on those Ecu contactpins that we can get some how?

    I've got a 2005 megane scenic which was in a flood. The car, when flooded completely shut down. Someone told me the computer will be shot, how expensive is it to replace and fit that in?

      With a second hand ecu, probably not that much...
      But, I would investigate the rest of the car/engine...
      There is modules at a lower level than the engine ecu, that water would get to them much easier...
      It might not be worth the repair if other modules are also gone...

    Great and very useful videos from LM Autorepair.
    In the similar model (scenic 2 1.9 dci model 2003) I have a problem with starting the car, dashboard is black (it had radio and clock working last, then got entirely black), the immo light stays on all the time! Checked all the fuses and relays, reconnected wires in R2 (thanks to your another video) due to the water leak, but still the same. I notice rodent traces under the bonnet, also reconnected wires of air regulator that were damaged most probably by a rodent, but still the same! What would you suggest to check next? Can somehow the immo be damaged, lost codes, or similar?

      @@LMAutoRepairs the scanner cannot connect, it was like that even before the issue, when car and the dashboard were working. Forgot to mention I was having "check injection" message for quite a time, and it was not the glowplugs...

      @@LMAutoRepairs excuse me, not sure if I understand correctly "can you connect to any module at all" if you mean to connect through odb2 scanner the answer is negative (actually this was tried before the defect, with different scanners at an auto-electricyst garage. I personally have an elm327 on which I do not rely much, and tested now with it and couldnt connect). Btw, I'm an amateur, trying to fix my car which luckily had been parked in my yard from where suddenly it couldnt start. The symptoms are identical as described in mhhauto.com/Thread-scenic-2-no-ignition-no-start-problem (apart that the immo light is not flashing, but stays on). From where I should start next, I have no ideas...

      @@LMAutoRepairs I measured the battery, and it was giving 7.5 V... after 24hrs of charging, I reconnected it and everything came on, dashboard and the car ignited! Thanks for a lot of inspiration here!
      At the end, I didn't get what was the main issue, I guess the water on R2 and on another connector that has fuses and a relay G. Cartier 12V-50A-03525 on it (under the driver's seat on left-hand drive car, with the main cable from there plucked). Given it took time for me until I figured out all tge matches on wire colors, I guess in the meantime battery drained (it was disconnected for more than 2 weeks).A big THANK YOU once again from Kosova!

      Even with no power on the OBD socket, could you communicate with the engine ecu?

      lmsvvavr he said that it said linking error as the socket had no power ...I did not ask him as I don't know how they work but he was confused as his one is powered by the socket it tries to communicate with the brains of the car but would not .....then he and his terminal went home ....

      OK... the 12 volts on the OBD socket are not needed to scan the car, providing you have a self powered scanner, but the fact that the 12 volts are missing from the plug, is an indicator that obviously something is not right.
      So, the car does not start, any other symptoms?
      Lights, etc...
      Once again, have you checked all fuses and relays, making sure they are working correctly?

    I was on the road and every was ok but I don't know what happened suddenly the car has come off and after that Service light and Electronic fault comes on! The car is completely dead now, mabe you have Experience with this problem?

      It can be caused by loads of different things...
      Try to scan the car...
      Check fuses, power grounds etc...

    I have megane 2 1.5dci with injection fault when driving from time to time it goes on then i restart tge ignition and its all good again for a week or two. We checked all mehanical parts all is in order. Delphi pump is okay injectors are all good. Common rail pressure sensor is okay. Pressure is okay. Funny is when i restart the ignition completely. So turn off car, lock car and then i start the car is all good like never happened. Sometimes car while driving stop light and injection fault wont turn off and car stops and then I can't turn off the contact for the ignition. Like keycard don't working . Then i open motor lid and there where the box and fuses and wires from battery are i give it a little shake and push and then it starts normally again.. Like wtf lol.3 electricians worked out the car but no one fixed it. Please if you have any advice send help lol. Thank you and greetings from Croatia!

      Not just on the engine ecu, but on the other modules...
      Also, if wiggling the cables sorts things out, that means something I guess...

      @@LMAutoRepairs no codes everything is fine with diagnostics. Only when ignition fault turns on then it says comm on rail pressure sensor. SO we changed it and then all good for a week or so. My thoughts are maybe to check fuse box where ignition ecu is maybe is there a lose wire or something. Corrosion of relay i dont know. Thanks for reply.

Perhaps you know where to look? Thank you. And maybe do you know which connector/ relay are for injection system? Any help is much appreciated.

      Pozdrav druže. Zanima me jesi li riješio ovaj problem. Imam iste simptome izgleda. Renault megan 1.5dci 2003, čudan problem. Svako malo mi se zna javiti poruka injection fault, traje oko 3sekunde i ugasi se, tako zareda nekoliko puta i onda mi piše stop, moram zaustaviti auto. Kada se zaustavim čujem kao bučan rad motora, čekićanje nekad u manjoj nekad u većoj mjeri. I tako ga ga ugasim upalim zna se desiti da odmah prestane, a nekada moram više puta upaliti i ugasiti auto i potpune se smiri sve bude ok. Nekad se javlja svaki dan a nekada, zna biti pauza više dana da se ne pojavi problem. Tako sam imao problem pola godine, da bi samo od sebe prestalo, sad mi se opet javilo prije para dana. Išao sam kod majstora koji su poznati u mom kraju i šire po održavanju pumpi i dizni, kažu vozi dok baš ne učesta. Ali meni se povremeno to javlja. Jedan mi je cak rekao da je pumpa otišla, da bi nakon toga auto samo od sebe se popravilo :) i tako radilo skoro 5mjesci i sad opet imam taj problem

      Cars have some sort of fuel cut system... but first try to scan the car and see what codes come up...

      OK... when codes don't help, or in your case no codes, next thing is to look at live data....
      What is the common rail pressure while cranking?
      What is the engine speed while cranking... etc...

      lmsvvavr ok ill check that but the other annoyance is my car is a push to start so cranking is limited to the crank the button provides, when we spray a starter spray into the air intake it starts then dies as it wears off so it will start but proves the fuel is not entering the combustion chamber its a 1.5 diesel

      But check live data first... you can then test actuators... making sure pressure regulator and things like that are working correctly...
      Live data though should give you some clues...

      LM Auto Repairs found what was the problem. by ecu wires are rubbed through and corroded off. Cheers for ur help mate.

    Hi Good Morning to you! 😉I have renault 2004 2.2 dci vel satis, this bitch, does not recognize the all three cards,in the card reader is the card pushes the two pint com up on the screen red imo light, no ignition. Where I suold do i start looking for the error, There's some way to talk? Thanks in advance for your help🤗

      Start by check the card reader...
      Check power and grounds...
      But before that, if you haven't done it year, check fuses...
